Raven

M y brothers were on their way to my house, and I could tell Sydney was nervous.

She seemed to be filtering around the kitchen when I walked back inside, and knowing we would have company soon, I needed to calm her down.

She had been brave in her pursuit of independence, but she needed to learn to lean on others for help.

“Let’s get dressed before everyone gets here,” I suggested, and she looked down, realizing what she was wearing.

The tiny shorts hugged her juicy ass and the shirt strained across her braless tits, and as much as I’d love to bury myself between her thighs for the afternoon, we needed to get this situation figured out and ended.

And if my hunch was correct, I was going to pull the ten thousand she’d already sent them from Rooster’s ass.

Walking up to her, I took her hand and guided us to the back of the house.

Her clothes were in the spare room, or what she brought inside from her camper, so I detoured us into that room first. She walked over to the bag sitting on the chair in the corner and watched from the doorway as she pulled a pair of blue jeans shorts and a clean T-shirt from the bag.

Looking over her shoulder, she said, “I’ll get dressed and meet you in the kitchen.”

Afraid she was second-guessing herself, or building a wall I would bulldoze through, I walked up and spun her to face me.

“I’m not going anywhere without you. So, grab your clothes and let’s get cleaned up before they get here.”

“I don’t want them to have to wait for us,” she whispered.

I tugged her hand, and she followed me into the master bedroom, what I now thought of as our bedroom, and guided her to sit at the foot of the bed. She looked up at me, appearing lost and unsure.

“Let them wait. They won’t be mad if one of us doesn’t immediately open the door.” Sydney seemed hesitant, so I added, “Trust me.”

Her resolve seemed to strengthen with that suggestion, and I helped her stand before pulling her in for a bruising kiss. She dropped the clothes in her hands onto the floor beside us and wrapped her arms around my neck, fully giving herself to the embrace.

When I felt her relax in my arms, I slowly pulled back from the kiss. Pecking her on the nose, I offered, “Let’s get showered.”

I knew we didn’t have time to get into anything at that moment, but as soon as everyone left today, I was going to drag her into our bed and make love to her until she had no doubts about where she was meant to be. And who she was meant to be with.

I turned on the shower as she got undressed behind me and when I stretched out my hand, she willingly took it, allowing me to guide her into the large shower stall.

The water was warm, and I helped her wet her hair and soap her body as the shared spray wet us both.

When she was finished, I stepped under the water and made quick work of washing my hair and body.

Opening my eyes after rinsing off, I saw Sydney looking down at my hard cock.

Just being near her has made me feel like a teenage boy, and I’d love nothing better than her hands wrapped around my shaft, but Comet and Claire should be here within a few minutes.

They would be fine waiting, but I didn’t want to add any additional stress onto Sydney.

I grabbed my shaft with my hand and stroked it twice as she licked her lips, almost bringing me to my knees. “I’ll never tell you no, darlin’, but we need more time than I can devote to you to do things right.”

Her eyes met mine, and a small blush pushed up on her cheeks, realizing she’d been caught looking. I winked at her before turning off the shower and rejoining her. “Let’s get dressed and we’ll revisit this later.”

We walked into the bedroom and got dressed, both of us sneaking glances at the other as we covered our nakedness. When we were both presentable, I took her hand into mine, gave her a kiss on the back. “Are you ready?”

She nodded, but I could tell she was still worried. I don’t know if it was worry about Rooster, worry about telling the club, or worry over something else, but whatever it was, I was going to do everything in my power to put her mind as ease.

Walking into the kitchen, I looked at the security monitor I had tucked against the backwall of a counter and saw Comet and Claire sitting on Comet’s bike, laughing at something one of them said. I pointed to the monitor to show Sydney.

“See? They don’t mind waiting.”

“Huh,” she replied absently, almost shocked someone was waiting without being mad.

I don’t know exactly what kind of club Billy rode for, but something told me they were the old school, women are decorations, and fighting was mandatory kind of club.

Sydney needed to learn Sinners aren’t pushy, we don’t fight unless needed, and women are treasured.

That’s the biggest point I needed to make.

And the ring and cut that should be at the clubhouse by tomorrow should do the trick.

Keeping her hand in mine, I walked to the garage door and opened it before pressing the button on the wall.

The garage door began to roll up and when I made eye contact with Comet, he got off his bike with a chin lift and helped Claire off.

They linked hands and started to walk into the garage as the sound of two motorcycles roared down the street.

I glanced and saw Jigsaw with Willow, followed by the club’s secretary, Warhol. I needed him to do some investigating about the claims Rooster made to Sydney, and he would want to ask his own questions.

Sydney and I stepped back into the kitchen as Comet and Claire approached the kitchen door. She walked up to Sydney and pulled her into a hug, causing me to release Sydney’s hand, and Comet bumped fists with me before walking to the island and pulling a backpack off his back.

He had his computer in hand and was logging into my Wi-Fi as Jigsaw, Willow, and Warhol entered the room. After everyone greeted each other, and I introduced Warhol and Sydney, we all got fresh cups of coffee and went outside to the patio table.

“First of all, thanks for coming over so quickly,” I said to the group as I wrapped my arm around Sydney’s shoulder and pulled her closer to me. I got nods from the brothers and smiles from the ladies, so I continued, “This morning, Sydney and I spoke about something, and I need your advice.”

Warhol pulled out a notebook as Comet, Jigsaw, Claire, and Willow sat listening to Sydney explain the situation.

I was proud of her. She wasn’t just skimming the surface.

She started with her mother leaving her at Billy’s at age eight and ending with the payment she made yesterday.

Occasionally, someone would ask a clarifying question, but for the most part, they allowed her to tell her story without interruption.

“Something’s off about all this,” Warhol noted as he placed his notebook onto the table. I looked at him with raised eyebrows as he expounded. “Cartel don’t wait for their money. They go in guns blazing, mowing down anyone who dared steal from them. I think there is something else going on.”

“What else could be going on?” Sydney asked as she leaned forward.

“I’m not completely sure, and I’ll need to do some digging, but I think they may have taken advantage of you and your grief,” Warhol mentioned, seemingly causing Sydney to deflate slightly.

“Can I ask something?” Willow inquired and Sydney glanced at her and nodded. “You said you grew up around your uncle’s club, but were you always around, or was it intermittent?”

“Why does that matter?” Claire asked.

“I was only around my father’s club randomly, and when I started spending more time there, after my mother passed away, I was so uncertain of things. It was a foreign life, and I’m thinking maybe this guy, Rooster, saw something similar in you, and preyed on your inexperience.”

Sayer looked at me and I could see pain in her eyes. Everything she’d done was to take care of the last responsibilities her mother pushed onto her, and now she may have been taken advantage of. I worried it might destroy her confidence, or worse. Make her think she needed to go back to Oregon.

And that was something I refused to let happen.

Comet’s gaze caught mine and he gave me a subtle raise of his eyebrows before he spoke.

“I think we should hold off on sending any more money to this asshat until we can dig deeper.” He looked at Sydney and reasoned.

“If Warhol is right, then you don’t need to give any more of your money away.

If he’s wrong, or even slightly wrong, then Rooster should make himself know and we can find out the details.

Either way, you don’t need to worry about these guys anymore.

Raven has your back, and we’re all here for you. ”

She lowered her gaze and admitted, “I feel so stupid.”

I touched her shoulder, and she looked up at me.

“You can’t feel that way, darlin’. Your mother put you in a bad situation, and you were only doing what you thought was the right thing for you and your uncle.

No one can fault you for that.” I kissed her temple and added, “But if Rooster has been lying about everything, I will get your money back.”

“How?” she asked, and at that moment, I wasn’t exactly sure, but I knew that between me, Warhol, Comet, and Jaggar, we would figure out something.

If worse comes to worse, I’d let Animal take some frustration out on them. Glancing around the table, I was about to admit I wasn’t sure when Jigsaw interjected, “Without all the details, we’re just speculating, but I promise, we’ll figure it out.”

Willow cut her eyes to me before she perked up and said, “A couple of us were thinking about going over to Cheyenne’s and hanging out with Jackie and Luna. Do you want to come?”

Sydney looked up at pushed a smile onto her beautiful face. “That sounds nice. I’ve been curious about this mysterious horse since she mentioned it last night.”
