I might burn them, maybe steal her passport, cage her, keep her trapped in my bedroom. A plethora of ideas cross my mind, but most will result in her hating me.
I did do some more research on Stockholm syndrome, and although it sounds possible, I want her genuine love.
Think, Tobias. Think. Think. Think.
How do we keep her?
How do we take this beautiful, smart woman and make her love us?
It’s all we need. Loyalty and affection and marriage and kids will all come eventually; however, I’d rather not spring young versions of myself on her, since I’m a trainwreck most days, especially now as erratic thoughts of kidnapping her are becoming more and more and more and more clear in my mind.
I could do it.
Would I?
Maybe.
Yes.
Aria meets me at the hotel entrance, not caring that we’re in public as she walks right up to me and kisses my cheek. “I’m sorry about Lucy.”
My chest burns with rage, but I ignore it and gesture for her to move towards the elevators.
Her hand is in mine the whole way up to her hotel room, and I measure her from behind for the size cage I could keep her in, smiling forcefully at her when she turns around. “Stop staring at my butt.”
She wishes that was what I was doing.
No, my dear, darling, beautiful doctor. I’m calculating how easy it will be be to make you disappear, to keep you forever, while also making you fall for me, continue to fuck me, and smile at me the way you are right now.
My leash is gone. I don’t know what it is, but I can feel myself slipping so fucking fast, and the only thing keeping me grounded is this human being with a heartbeat.
Chapter 20
Aria
Pulling up on the sidewalk across from his place, Tobias releases my thigh from his hold, turning off the engine. I lean over him to look at the three-story building.
“That’s all yours?”
"Yeah,” he says quietly, gulping.
I climb out to get a better look, meeting him at the bumper of his car. “I want to ask if you are some sort of drug dealer or maybe a mass murderer who steals people’s money.”
“Nope.” Tobias taps his nose before wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling me against him. "I'm just a really good assistant."
I hum, circling my arms around his neck, kissing his lips softly. "You're a shit assistant, to be honest. All you ever did was distract me."
He snorts, shaking his head. "You distracted me."
"Whatever." I roll my eyes, a loud scream echoing around us as Tobias lifts me up and wraps my legs around his waist. He hooks my ankles behind him as he carries me across the road, pressing the key over his shoulder, the beep from the car indicating it's locked. "I can walk, you know?"
"Doctor, after tonight, you won't be able to walk for the rest of your time here. I don’t plan on letting you leave my bed, not even to catch the flight.”
“But Gabriella is picking me up later.”
“That won’t stop me from fucking your brains out,” he replies.
I bite my lip to hide my grin, burying my head in his shoulder as he taps in his code to open his security gate. With me still wrapped around him, he walks us up the pathway, pressing my back against the stone wall beside the double-doored entrance, making me feel warm, comfortable, and a little turned on.
