I whimper. “Please.”
Tobias' work phone starts vibrating on the unit next to the mirror, and he grunts and grabs it, keeping his face between my legs, looking up at me as heanswerswith, “Tobias.” I flinch as his tongue lashes out against my clit. “What do you need help with?”
I cover my mouth to stop the moans from slipping free as he licks me between words, and I’m stuck between wanting to slap him for doing this and wanting him to keep going.
His lips cover my clit, sucking delicately as he hums in agreement to whoever is on the phone.
"Wait, really?” he says, pulling his face away from between my legs and sitting up. “Yeah, I didn't realize the time. Are they still waiting? Okay, I'm on my way." He hangs up and throws his head back, huffing. "I'm really sorry."
“What’s wrong?” I ask, sitting up and covering my nakedness with my hands.
“I told Ivy’s mom I’d assist on their day out to the beach between her med switches.” He pushes a lock of hair behind my ear. “I love your hair. It’s so brown and shiny. Promise me you’ll never dye it.”
I laugh and check my phone, feeling the intense wetness between my legs and watching Tobias pull his shorts back on.
"I'm going to come with you, if that’s okay? I want to see how Ivy is doing and spend time with her, since Doctor Blythe has me doing everything but just that.”
"Sure. And I'm sorry for overstepping again. I understand if it was just a spur of the moment thing."
I shrug. "I was the one who mentioned no strings. Really, though, no one can know. You need to promise not to tell a soul, not even Justin."
“Will you tell Gabriella?”
“Of course,” I reply. “She’s my best friend.”
He nods, almost like he expected that. “I’m staying at this hotel. I’ll go get dressed and meet you out front.”
Why is he staying here when he lives so close to work? I don’t even want to ask, because my entire body is still trembling, and I need him to leave so I can go scream into my pillow.
I fully expect him to leave without saying anything else, but he leans forward and kisses my cheek, running his palm down my back, making me swoon inside.
"I’m still not finished with you," he says against my ear, a yelp falling from my lips as he slaps my ass on the way out, closing the door behind him.
Chapter 12
Aria
After a long day at the beach, my skin is so red, it hurts.
I'm not technically working, so I plan on heading straight to the hotel once Ivy gets into the car they hired. Watching Tobias fold her wheelchair in the back and buckle Ivy into her seat, I discuss with her mom about other days out we can take her on if the hospital allows it.
Her smile always lights up my day, and she giggles when I smile back. "Did you have fun today?" I ask her, placing her toy on her lap. She nods her head once in excitement. "We'll go again soon, okay?" I tuck a strand of her golden hair behind her ear and say goodbye.
"Are you going with them?" I ask Tobias, who gives Ivy the thumbs up, pulls a funny face to make her laugh, and closes her door.
He shakes his head, and I feel a smile fighting its way to the surface. "My car is at your hotel,” he says. “I'll walk back with you."
I'm not really sure why I'm trying not to frown, or why I care where he goes, but I feel a pang of disappointment. "Okay," I reply in a quiet tone, dropping my eyes to my moving feet.
We could easily pick up where we left off, since we're free for the rest of the day, but I don't want to mention that unless he does first.
"Sorry about earlier," he says, walking beside me along the promenade, the sun starting to fall behind the tall buildings on our left, the warm glow reflecting on the sea on our right. "I can't miss a call on my work phone." His smile at the last word completely lights up the blue in his eyes, and I'm staring for too long before I shake it off.
"It's okay." I shrug. "Although I give you points for multitasking.”
He laughs, wrapping his fingers around the leather strap of my bag, pulling me to him.
I almost stumble, inhaling his masculine scent, his arm wrapping around me to keep my feet steady on the ground while the other cups my face. He runs his thumb along my cheekbone, dipping his head, his nose nudging mine before his lips softly press against my own.
