“Get on your knees under my desk, and use those sweet lips to keep me happy until I say. Not a word or a sound.”
She nodded, still pink-cheeked.
I leaned back, phone in hand, pretending to scroll while keeping one eye on them. Thistle’s scent thickened in the room, sharp and sweet, and it was all I could do not to shift in my seat.
Knox picked up his phone and dialled a number.
“I’m back in my office.”
There was a pause, and Thistle was tugging his dick out (which was already hard again), but I could tell she was listening intently.
“No,” Knox said. “I’m busy. If you want to talk, come see me.”
I frowned, wondering what the hell was going on. He set the phone down and leaned back in the chair as Thistle ran her fist up his length.
It wasn’t long before the door opened, and I had to stifle a laugh as Ace walked in.
I saw Thistle glance up from under the table. This was perfect; from Ace’s angle, he couldn’t see her but I had a great view of the whole thing. Her eyes were wide as she glanced at me, but Knox’s shoe nudged her in warning.
“Where’s Thistle?”
Frosted moonflower was thick in the air.
Knox leaned back in his chair. “Sketching in her nest? We just gave her the best fuck of her life.”
Ace rolled his eyes, then motioned to his neck. “I’m done with the collar. I’ve been generous with you. I gave you Rogue, secured your freedom—and I have a way to get you into my pack.”
“Herpack,” Knox corrected. “And…haveyou?” He looked around with a shrug. He managed, impressively, to make it look completely casual as Thistle ran her tongue from the base of his shaft to the tip. “Where is it?”
“It will take a little longer.” Ace sneered. “But I can still reverse it—and if I do there’s no promise I’ll get the chance again.”
Knox raised an eyebrow. “How convenient.” His expression was stiff, which made sense, since under the table Thistle had slowly taken him all the way to the knot. Stifling my grin took effort.
“If you don’t take this off you can kiss your freedom goodbye.”
Knox leaned back in the chair, and I fought the urge to laugh as Thistle once more choked herself right to the base, holding herself there. I could almost feel how tight it must be. There was a slight tension in Knox’s voice as he replied, “I don’t believe you, Maverick.”
Perhaps I was prone to underestimating Knox.
He’d put Ace in a position I’d never seen him—coming into another Alpha’s territory to make demands, while Knox lounged back on his office chair getting deep-throated by his soul match.
Knox tossed a small black remote control on the table. Ace eyed it, clearly thinking it was the controller to his collar, but it was definitely the one he’d pulled out with Thistle’s butt plug. I grinned as he gave it a flick in Ace’s direction. “Take it, Maverick.Please.”
Thistle had switched to using her fist to keep Knox stimulated for a moment, head cocked as she listened. She caught my eye and flashed a devious smile at me.
Ace rolled his shoulders, clearly running through the possibilities. I happened to know the shock collar Knox had was wired to go off if the wearer picked up the remote.
Clearly aware of the possibility, Ace dragged his gaze from it, his icy blue eyes meeting Knox’s with fury. “You know, I’d almost believe you didn’twanta place in the pack.”
Knox grinned. “You don’t think, after this many years working alongside vermin, I wouldn’t be working on my own exit plan?”
“Doyou have a way to get Bella?”
Knox didn’t answer, looking perfectly confident as Thistle squeezed her fist around the base of his shaft, slowly working the tip in and out of her perfect lips, eyes drifting up occasionally.
Ace looked deadly with fury as he stalked from the room and slammed the door.
The moment he was gone, Knox groaned, leaning back in his desk chair. His fist found her hair.
