Page 33 of Provocation (Den of Deception #3)
She glances back at me, not answering at first as if she didn’t anticipate the question and it’s taking her a second to process.
‘Not sure,’ she says, shimmying a little. ‘I don’t like going without a bra, but I think maybe it’s because I’m not used to it. I sort of feel like I’m naked.’
I find myself smiling in amusement at her answer. ‘Well, why don’t you get naked for real right now with me and compare?’
She raises a brow at me and rolls her eyes. ‘Not now.’
Ouch.
But she doesn’t see my wounded expression for dramatic effect.
She’s already looking back down at Sandra.
I sigh. Maybe later, downstairs in our bedroom.
That new bed hasn’t seen any action yet.
It needs to be christened properly. I gave her the implant yesterday, so there won’t be any surprises coming by stork anytime soon!
I’m not opposed to that happening one day, though.
I edge closer to her, wrapping my arms around her middle and splaying my hands out over her stomach, pulling her back against me a little. She lets out a little sigh, resting against me for a second and I immediately forgive her for not taking off her clothes for me.
‘So, how long until I see what you’ve done?’
She frowns. ‘Not long, but I’m not sure how much we’ll actually see from up here.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘Well, we’re quite far away.’
I put my drink on the coffee table. ‘So, let’s get down there, my villainous vixen.’
She chuckles as she glances down at the entrance again, and then up at me. ‘There’s a lot of people here.’
‘Come on. Don’t you want to see the fruits of your labor? Dance with me,’ I beg.
‘Okay,’ she whispers. ‘But you won’t leave me alone?’
‘Not even for a second.’
I open the door, and she winces at how loud it is, but she follows me out and down the metal stairs by the side of the wall. I make sure the marks haven’t noticed our arrival, but they’re already on the dance floor anyway.
I nod at Mav who’s behind the bar while Sandy is handing out Envy with Shade at the door. He raises a water bottle at me with a questioning look and I nod, grabbing it from him as we go by and offering it to our girl. She takes it from me with a grin, and we wade onto the dancefloor.
It’s crowded, but there’s room to move and I make sure we’re near to both the sorority girls’ group and Bennet who looks like he’s here with his female doppelganger, Casey, who, despite being a Grade A bitch, is clearly not bad enough in Daisy’s opinion to warrant getting a revenge pill.
I watch them for a moment, trying to figure out if anything’s happening, but they all appear normal as far as I can make out.
When I look back at Daisy, she’s swaying to the thump of the music and her eyes are closed. Her face is serene, as if she’s already forgotten there are other people here.
I peer over at the entrance, and I tense as I see a large guy with a buzzcut whom I recognize as one of Sauvage’s guys coming up the side of the line, ignoring the clearly annoyed people waiting who think he’s cutting.
Shade tenses when he sees him, and I vaguely remember Buzzcut being the guy that Shade had to fight the night Sauvage made us party with him.
But Sauvage’s guy just gives him a nod and grabs the black duffle bag from behind the door.
He goes back the way he came, leaving the club without a backwards glance.
‘Shouldn’t be long now,’ Daisy says in my ear and gesturing with her chin at Bennet who’s looking pale and sweaty.
I maneuver us so we’re close enough to hear and see everything.
The corner of my lips twitch as Bennet wipes his brow with his sleeve. He looks like shit.
‘Are you okay?’ Casey asks him.
‘I’m feeling a little weird. Are you?’
Casey stretches up into the air and shakes her head. ‘Nope, I feel amazing!’
Bennet suddenly doubles over and lets out a groan. Then, he straightens sharply, his eyes wide and fear on his face.
‘On my god!’ someone shrieks. ‘What is that smell ?’
I let out a noise of disgust as the unmistakable scent of shit wafts into my nose and my eyes fly to Daisy who’s already giggling uncontrollably behind her hand.
‘A laxative?!’
She nods, wraps her arms around herself and doubles over with chortles when she hears a scream from nearby and all four of the clones run from the dancefloor toward the bathrooms, two of them holding their asses as they flee.
A few people are pointing and exclaiming while others laugh.
Daisy is halfway on the floor, gasping for breath as she sniggers and I can’t help but join her. I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t for her enemies to shit themselves in public.
She grabs me, laughing still, and pulls me close. Her body moves against mine with the music and I’ve never seen her so unrestrained and free. It’s intoxicating. She’s intoxicating. More than alcohol or any drug I’ve ever taken. I need her like I need air.
I pull her from the dancefloor and straight into the storeroom, pushing her against the wall at the back, taking her lips fiercely as she gasps and holds onto me.
I pull up her skirt and move her underwear to the side, not able to wait any longer. I push inside her roughly, loving the way she claws at my back with a strangled groan.
I pick her up, using the wall as leverage to fuck her hard and fast.
‘You’re so fucking perfect,’ I growl into her mouth. ‘So fucking strong and brave and beautiful and smart .’
Her cries of pleasure as I take her against the wall are music to my ears.
My fingers delve into her hair as I thrust inside her, pulling her head to the side so I can suck on her neck.
She mewls and shudders and I can tell she’s surprised by this, but she likes it too.
My thumb finds that spot next to her clit and rubs in circles as her hips undulate.
She cries out just as I come hard, biting where her neck meets her shoulder in retaliation for when she bit my lip the other day before licking it better.
I feel her pussy pulsating around me, milking my cock while I stay buried inside her for several long moments. Both of us are breathing hard, and when I pull back she looks a little shell shocked.
‘Are you okay?’ I ask, afraid that I’ve done something she didn’t want.
But she nods. ‘I’m okay. I just… That was so fast and…’ She looks at the door. ‘There are so many people who are so close.’
‘I locked it.’
She just blinks at me.
‘The door,’ I explain. ‘As we came in.’
She looks relieved. ‘So, you weren’t hoping that someone would?—’
‘Bust in on us?’ I shake my head and cup her face. ‘No, baby. You’re mine and Shade’s and Mav’s, but no one else gets to see you or what we do with you. We only share with each other.’
Daisy nods a little timidly and I turn toward the door, letting out a chuckle.
‘I can’t believe your plan was to give your enemies diarrhea.’
She shrugs, grabbing her water bottle from one of the shelves where she must have stowed it. ‘Well, I didn’t want to really hurt anyone. I just wanted to even the score a little.’
Even though they’ve hurt her or made sure she was hurt.
I smile at her. ‘You’re a good person.’
‘So are you,’ she reminds me. ‘Now, come on. I need to check on the latest batch.’
We slip out of the storeroom and make it to the cellar without anyone clocking us. I’d love to take Daisy into the Dark Lounge for some more one on one time, but she’s single-minded when it comes to the lab and it’s Saturday night. A couple of the VIPs will be in there soon, so no playtime for us.
She slides open the door to the lab and checks a few things, flitting around the space like it’s been a month, not a week since we first brought her down here.
‘I need some things from the lab at school,’ she murmurs, writing a list.
I check my watch. ‘It’s only a little past ten. We could go now real fast, if you need them for tomorrow.’’
She nods, looking pleased. ‘That would be good. Then I can begin the next batch as soon as this one’s finished. We should probably have a buffer, so we don’t run out.’
I nod. ‘Grab your— Oh! Wait here!’
I leave the lab and run over to the Dark Lounge, letting myself into our room. Luckily, none of our VIPs got here early because I’m not waiting. I grab the box that came today before sprinting back to Daisy and putting it on the table in front of her.
She smiles. ‘My new coat?’
‘Your new coat.’
She opens it and takes it out, hugging it to her. ‘Thanks, Blake.’
‘No problem. Put it on.’
She puts it on and zips it up, moving around in it.
‘Is it the same as the last one?’ I ask with a grin.
‘Yep!’ She throws her arms around me and squeezes me. ‘It’s perfect.’
‘As promised.’ I give her a quick kiss. ‘Let’s go.’
I message the guys to tell them where we’re going and we leave the club through the side door, taking the truck that’s parked in the alley. I’m surprised to find that there’s still a long line out the door. I think it’s safe to say that Envy is a success.
Thank God. Well, and Daisy.
We’re halfway out of Richmond when I get a message back. I glance at my phone, expecting it to be Mav or Shade asking me to grab some food on the way, but it’s not. It’s Farley.
I swallow hard.
Kormak wants us back at Sal’s.
Shit. The old man hasn’t paid up. He’s going there now. What if the daughter’s there again? He’ll follow through with his threat from last time. Feeling sick, I glance at Daisy who’s still looking like she’s having a great evening with me.
There isn’t time to drop her off anywhere safe.
‘Fuck!’ I hiss.
‘What is it?’
‘Nothing. I just… I need to run an errand, but it’s in a bad part of town. You need to stay in the car, okay?’
‘Okay,’ she says slowly.
She doesn’t ask me anything, but she glances at my phone even though she can’t see the message, and she frowns a little before she turns to look out the window again.
I go past Sal’s and turn up the next alleyway, parking in the small lot around the back.
