"Yes, and I'm pretty sure we all know who," he snaps, glaring at me. "Seriously man, we only just got rid of one sociopath, I didn't need you to bring another one into our lives."
"At least I'm not related to either of the people that've come close to killing us both lately," I spit back.
"Are you two seriously sitting there bickering with each other right now?" Leo calls out from the other side of the car, panting heavily.
Kaleb and I stand up from our crouched positions to see Leo stood in the road, his hands on his knees as he greedily sucks down oxygen.
"Fucker got away. I did manage to hit him with at least one bullet though, so he's injured, but not dead. Probably will be soon, though."
"See who it was?" Kaleb asks, head still on a swivel as he watches the street around us.
"White, dark hair, about six feet tall maybe. I don't know. He had a head start so he was too far away by time I got there and started chasing after him."
"Right, well I'm going back upstairs and telling Rory to pack her bags because there's no way I'm letting her stay here anymore. Kaleb, call your weird techy friend and see if he can find where that bastard is. It's time this shit is put to an end."
"Are you telling me I came all this way with shopping and your clothes for no fucking reason?" he shouts, throwing his arms out like a stroppy toddler.
I laugh and nod.
"Seems that way. Be back in a few, psychos," I say before running back towards Aurora's apartment.
Chapter Fifty-One
Aurora
When Leo pulls up to a set of large iron gates and winds his window down to put in a code, I slide over to the middle of the car and wedge myself between the front seats to get a better view out the windscreen.
The gates open, and Leo drives forward, following the long gravel driveway and after a little while, I finally see the house at the end.
"Wow," I breath, jaw dropping open as I stare at the house we're approaching. "It's like something you'd see in a movie."
The house is huge with a wide, circular patch of gravel outside, leading to a set of marble steps and a porch area that leads to the big double doors.
"Sophia had a very similar reaction when she first came here," Jaylen says, chuckling in the passenger seat.
"It's huge. It literally looks like it could be classed as a mansion. I mean, look at all the windows. There must be so many rooms."
"I know there's at least twelve," Jaylen adds.
I frown, confused as to how he wouldn't know the number of rooms considering he lives here, but also wondering why he's said such a specific number, but then as my eyes scan the length of the building again, I realise there's twelve windows facing us.
"You're not funny," I tell him, smacking his shoulder and shaking my head.
He gasps and turns to me looking offended.
"I can be funny."
"Sure, honey, whatever helps you sleep at night."
I struggle to hide my smile as he gapes at me.
As soon as Leo pulls the car to a stop, I hop out of the back seat, dragging my bag of clothes with me.
The large oak door at the top of the steps opens and Sophia walks out, her hands resting against her slightly swollen stomach.
She smiles at me and gestures with her arms to come over to her.
I look to Jaylen for some kind of guidance of what to do because I feel a little awkward walking into their home without him by my side.
