I move back over to him, taking his hands into mine.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
He chuckles and nods, even though a tear trickles down his cheek.
"You don't seem to be okay, baby."
"I just wish I could've kept my cool and taken my time with him. He didn't deserve a quick death. I should've dragged it out for as long as I could, made him feel every ounce of pain that you did when you were with him."
"He got what he deserved," I state, holding his head in my hands and bringing his face close to mine. "Thank you."
I draw him in closer until our lips meet, melding together as my eyes flutter closed.
Reluctantly, I pull back and kneel back down to yank his trainers off his feet.
As I chuck them out of the shower, I'm surprised to see Jaylen stand up, undoing his trousers and tugging them down his legs.
Peering up at him, I no longer see the lost, confused look on his face.
"You gonna help wash this prick's blood off me then, darling?"
I nod, stripping out of my own clothes as he messes with the dials on the wall until water is pouring down on us from the ceiling.
Chapter Fifty-Four
Jaylen
After washing off in the shower and getting dressed, I make my way downstairs and into the kitchen which is dimly lit by the light sky outside.
I head straight for the fridge in the hopes that Myra left me some food in there.
Opening the door, I swear, I'm getting a glimpse of what heaven looks like.
"I figured you'd be hungry after everything, so I helped Myra make some food for when you got back," Sophia says, making me shriek and jump in surprise.
Turning around, I find her sat on the counter, a glass of water in her hands as she watches me with amusement.
"You almost gave me a heart attack."
"Maybe that was my plan," she shoots back, using my own words against me,
"So original," I grumble, looking back inside the fridge and grabbing the marinated chicken, cheese, sausage rolls, and potato salad. Balancing the containers precariously in my arms, I close the fridge and move over to sit at the breakfast bar opposite my cousin.
She hops down from the counter and opens the cupboard, handing me a plate.
"Use a fork as well, please," she says walking past me.
I huff and go to the drawer to get a fork, then go sit down and dump a heap of food onto my plate, digging in immediately, groaning at the burst of flavours on my tongue.
Half the food from my plate is gone by time I hear Aurora's footsteps padding into the room.
"You have to come and try—"
My words get stuck in my throat when I turn around and see her walking towards me dressed in only one of my T-shirts.
Her unruly hair is tied up in a bun, curls bursting free from the hair band, framing her face. My top hugs her thighs, drawing my attention to them as she steps up next to me and lifts herself on to the seat beside me.
The hem of the top lifts, and I get a glimpse of her bare pussy before she tugs it back down and crosses her legs.
