Story: Otaku Witch

“Alright, Vivian, let’s cut to the chase. What’s the situation with the Dragon Mountain-class? Can it be activated and put into use anytime?”

Although she really wanted to chat more with this long-lost friend, there were so many people around her at the moment, which was definitely not the best time for reminiscing. So, she directly cut to the theme.

Upon hearing her words, Vivian’s expression turned serious, then she nodded.

“Of course, Dragon Mountain-class has always been in a state of battle readiness, just waiting for your command to be activated at any moment.”

Upon hearing this response, Dorothy breathed a sigh of relief.

She was actually somewhat surprised internally, never expecting that the seemingly idle move she made back then would actually come to fruition.

That’s right, the entire Dragon Mountain City is actually an unactivated war fortress – Dragon Mountain-class, this is its real name.

Dorothy is a civil engineering witch and also a shipbuilder.

Although even she couldn’t completely design a true witch battleship under the condition that all magic knowledge was sealed in the first act, she could barely come up with the initial design draft of a war fortress as a low-spec version of a witch battleship.

So back then, she pondered for a long time, came up with the design blueprint of the Dragon Mountain-class, and also included it in the plan left for Denisha.

Of course, although she left the design blueprint, she didn’t really expect Denisha and her people to actually construct this war fortress.

After all, although the technical difficulty of this war fortress was far less than that of a witch battleship, it also originated from Spider Teacher’s war fortress architectural technique, and Dorothy also simplified and downgraded some witch battleship technologies and incorporated them, such as the warship’s land-shattering main cannon technology.

Honestly, the construction difficulty of Dragon Mountain-class was not something that the people of Pandora City at that time could complete.

Even though she had overcome all the technical difficulties, it’s like the brain knows it but the hands might not necessarily know it; some things, even if she provides the standard answer, others might not be able to replicate it.

Back then, Dorothy left the design blueprint with a “try it out” attitude.

What surprised her was that when the second act commenced, she actually saw a Dragon Mountain City on the Magic Republic’s map. She curiously asked Denisha about it, whether it was built with her help, but her good sister shrugged, indicating it had nothing to do with her.

That design blueprint was eventually given to the Mechanical Sect’s mechanical monks for research, and this Dragon Mountain City is the result of hundreds of years of efforts across multiple generations of the Mechanical Sect.

They perfectly completed the homework assigned by Dorothy, the first Holy Pope.

To be honest, the homebody witch was somewhat surprised at this result.

Although if she herself were to construct it, it might take one or two months, mainly because the war fortress is huge, so the engineering volume is significant. If she had enough witch-level labor force, it might be done within weeks.

But the wisdom products of witches are incomprehensible artifacts to mortals; crafting a divine artifact with mortal skill, the difficulty need not be mentioned.

She genuinely did not expect that the mechanical monks of the Mechanical Sect could accomplish this.

For this, she thought of an idiom from her past life: “The Foolish Old Man Moves Mountains.”

The homework she left was as difficult as moving a mountain for those mere mortals mechanical monks. Though the mortal’s individual strength is small, their posterity is endless. With generations’ relentless efforts, this mountain was eventually conquered.

“Actually, the current technological level of the Magic Republic owes much to the blueprint you left behind. Countless new technologies were created during the construction of Dragon Mountain City. Some knowledge, with slight conversion, can be used elsewhere.”

Denisha said this to Dorothy at the time.

But since the start of the second act, Dorothy has been busy with other matters, never having time to come to this frontier giant city for inspection, to approve the work of her mechanical monk students. But now, the time to correct homework has finally arrived.

Everyone followed Vivian into the Iron Cathedral, which didn’t resemble other cathedrals with a worship hall, but more like the central command room of a warship.

Especially inside the deepest part of the cathedral hall, a throne elevated by multiple steps quietly awaited its master’s arrival.

“Master, please take your seat. Dragon Mountain-class has always been waiting for your arrival, so have all the mechanical monks.”

Vivian looked up with excitement at the high throne and respectfully spoke to Dorothy.

The homebody witch didn’t stand on ceremony. Amid the curious gazes from the Judges, and the puzzled looks from the Angel Witches, she stepped up the stairs and sat on the throne with a sway of her Judgment Cloak.

Then, several restraints extended from the throne, securely fixing her body.

Afterwards, tentacle-like pipes descended from above, the ends revealing sharp interface probes which directly pierced into the brain-machine interface at the back of the homebody witch’s head, establishing a connection with her brain magic equipment.
