Before a dressing mirror, a beauty was looking at her reflection, whispering to herself.

"Of course, it's me, Dorothy dahling."

The girl thus answered her own question.

"Stop being so vain, Miss, it's time to eat."

A voice as crisp and pure as a holy song in a cathedral came from outside the room.

"Coming, coming."

At the mention of food, Dorothy quickly dismissed her usual vain thoughts as she felt her stomach grumbling. She hopped up, turned around to open her trunk, and took out her newly purchased school uniform, donning it immediately.

One has to say, witches are truly skilled craftsmen. The new clothing fitted perfectly, not too tight nor too loose, and it felt so comfortable that she could almost forget she was wearing anything at all—reminiscent of the freedom one feels while sleeping au naturel.

However, this was obviously an illusion, for when Dorothy looked again at the mirror, the reflection showed a petite witch clad in black.

Her pitch-black hair flowed smoothly like a waterfall, its exquisite sheen mirroring the mysterious and tranquil night sky. Her breathtaking visage seemed as if it belonged not in reality but only in the fantastical paintings crafted by the great masters—an appearance befitting deities.

Moving down, the girl's figure was neither too plump nor too thin, perfect without any need for additional embellishments, making even the plainest school uniform look as grand as an outfit on a high-fashion runway.

The white blouse on her upper body was of the simplest design, underscoring her innocence, while the inconspicuous yet exquisite pattern above the collar highlighted her love for beauty, rendering it lovely and youthful, provoking admiration for the poetry of her young heart and an irresistible urge to take a closer look.

The pants of her lower body were the lantern pants often worn by witches. The originally pure white fabric now appeared slightly blushed against her skin tone. The pants, baggy yet tapered at the ankle, managed to look both chubby and adorably svelte all at once.

The black witch's robe, meant to be oversized and conceal her figure completely, had the opposite effect due to its tailored fit, delineating sensational curves as she moved, dazzling and too swift for the eye to follow.

This sense of being fully covered yet feeling as if something could be seen is akin to Schr?dinger's famous cat, inducing an itch in the heart, adding a layer of mystery to the witch while also secretly infusing a touch of risqué appeal.

Dorothy: "......"

Why does this school uniform feel somewhat improper? And yet, it indeed looks like the simplest of school uniform designs, doesn't it?

She remembered the witch seamstress named Mary from the Witches' Specialty Store and could almost see Miss Mary sticking out her tongue and giving her a thumbs-up right now.

Tsk, that SP tailor, even her clothes are so risqué? I won't be buying from her again.

That's what Dorothy thought inside.

But it does look rather fetching, doesn't it?

The witch eyed her new look from side to side in front of the mirror, finally reaching a verdict.

"You look ravishing."

Saying so, Dorothy even amused herself, breaking out into a merry smile, and with that, the room, previously dim with the curtains drawn, was suddenly brightened by her laughter, radiating brilliance.

It's just a pity such loveliness must remain hidden from the world.

"Snap..."

Dorothy lightly snapped her fingers.

Her silky hair began to float and braid itself into a thick plait. The long fringe drooped, instantly concealing her starlike eyes.

A big, earthy pair of black-rimmed glasses jumped onto Dorothy's high and straight nose, once again covering a third of her flawless face, leaving only her plump and lovely red lips and her delicate but not overly sharp chin for all to see.

Considering it was time for dinner, she decided to give her mouth and chin some freedom instead of wrapping a scarf around them.

And so, the once nation-toppling beauty had disappeared, replaced by an unremarkable and earthy-looking country bumpkin of a little witch.

Heh, bet you didn't see that coming, Miss Mary. It doesn't matter how good the body is if the face isn't up to scratch; no one will take notice. All your little sly touches on the uniform are pointless now, Miss SP. Who cares about the figure of an ugly duckling?

Dorothy, having once been a seasoned SP herself, scoffed in disdain.

Only an SP knows how to deal with another SP.

With that thought, she proudly opened the door and strode out.

Outside, the first thing that caught Dorothy's eye was the luxurious yet cozy high-end interior, similar to the opulent carriage she rode in earlier. The house was filled with extravagant items that the little witch dared not dream of, not to mention the furnishings, even the smallest decorative trinket was a luxury that Dorothy couldn't even fathom in her previous life.

The country girl couldn't help tiptoeing cautiously through the corridor by the room door. After a few steps, she was met with a spacious living room, and beyond its end, through the vast full-sized windows, the view outside abruptly forced its way into her sight.

Well, it was actually all blue skies and white clouds.

But if she took a few more steps forward and looked down, an immense cityscape unfolded before her eyes, taking it all in.

I will ascend beyond the highest peak, to enjoy a view of all the mountains beneath.

This is the very heart of Witch Academy, home to its landmark—the topmost level of the Tower of Shine.

Though it sounds impressive, strictly speaking, this towering structure several thousand kilometers high is actually nothing more than a dormitory. As its name 'Tower of Shine' suggests, only the most outstanding witch students of the entire academy are qualified to reside here.

There are a thousand floors in the building. With the exception of the first floor's communal space, each of the remaining floors houses one distinguished witch; meaning only the top-ranked 999 students are privileged to move in, as the current student population of Witch Academy hovers around 500 million...

In addition, the floor on which a student resides is also related to her academic ranking—the higher the rank, the higher the floor.

Dorothy is now at the topmost floor of the Tower of Shine, the residence of the historical first-ranked student—the Student Council President.

But now...

Dorothy turned her head and saw the revered president of the whole Witch Academy, currently wearing an apron decorated with a pink fluffy rabbit, busily making lunch in the kitchen.

Well, it wasn't exactly her doing the cooking. She just stood in the middle of the kitchen while the utensils did all the work.

The ingredients bathed themselves, the kitchen knife chopped vegetables on its own, the stove adjusted its own flame, and the spatula stirred by itself...

Indeed, everything was in perfect order, as if several invisible chefs were bustling around, and a delicious aroma began wafting from the pot.

Dorothy was indeed moved, and tears of gratitude couldn't help but trickle from the corners of her mouth.

Her spells are very innovative and handy. It's just that most of her spells are life-oriented, with not too many for combat," Sophia confirmed with a nod in the kitchen.

Even someone as proud as her showed respect and a hint of inferiority as she said this.

"Well, thank you for the compliment."

Hearing this, Dorothy spoke up a bit bashfully.

"Don't flatter yourself, Miss. I was not complimenting you."

The Angel Witch rolled her eyes and ignored her.

This annoying young lady always managed to get under Sophia's skin, yet, due to the teacher's orders, the Angel Witch had to assume the responsibility of caring for her, much to her chagrin.

The Pure White Witch sighed, a feeling of weariness washing over her, and it was during this brief distraction that a slight disturbance occurred in the otherwise perfect harmony of the kitchen.

Sensing the disarray in the spell, Sophia grew anxious. But before she could correct it, she heard a snapping sound.

Something astounding happened; the spell that belonged to the Angel Witch was suddenly commandeered by someone else, and the magic resumed its flow with a rhythm so perfect that even Sophia couldn't help but admire. Everything harmonized so naturally, as if the spell had come to life, and an even more enticing aroma began bursting forth from the pot.

"Beautiful wandless casting, perfect control of magic power. Are you also an enthusiast of Witch of the Forest's spells, Miss?"

The Pure White Witch looked up to see the Earth Witch by the dining table, who had not yet lowered her hand from snapping her fingers. With raised eyebrows, she asked.

Although she was proud, she was not unreasonable. The young lady's adept use of the spell was indeed praiseworthy—her skill with this particular spell was definitely superior to Sophia's.

Recognition aside, Sophia still felt a twinge of annoyance. As a witch with a strong competitive spirit, losing a duel due to a moment of carelessness was one thing, but losing in spell control, especially with her specialty, the Culinary Arts Spell, was quite another.

Keep in mind, cooking for oneself had been a long-standing habit of hers, using the Culinary Arts Spell almost every meal with a high level of proficiency, yet she still lost.

It seems that the young lady's affection for the Witch of the Forest exceeds even her own.

After a brief moment of silence, she decisively removed her apron, headed to the dining area, slipped the pink fluffy rabbit apron over Dorothy, and then sat herself down.
