Page 329 of On A Manhunt: Complete Series
MAC
While we had fire trainings every Saturday morning, this was the one weekend a month Theo participated. The first time he helped back in the fall, he’d been a pretend patient in a vehicle extraction. He’d been a good sport, even bought everyone lunch.
Six or so months later, he was still a good sport and he still bought everyone lunch.
That was why we were sitting across from each other at Kincaids waiting for our burgers to be served.
We were at the end of the long table and the B shift crew filled up the rest. We’d finished up a medical station rotation where everyone recertified in CPR, practiced IV sticks and diabetic patient assessment.
I saved these kinds of trainings for when Theo came because he was the expert and gave more insight as a doctor than the paramedics on staff.
For a guy who lived in Montana, he still dressed like a big city doctor. Usually, he wore khakis and a button down with his doctor’s white lab coat and stethoscope, but today he was dressed casually in jeans with his button down. I had yet to see him in flannel.
Everyone was talking about the calendar since Liz, who sat at the far end, had already had her photos done.
Cleary, too. Everyone ribbed me about seeing the photos at the meeting the other day and not sharing, but I’d stayed quiet about how they came out, other than saying they looked good.
We’d agreed as a committee that the photos wouldn’t be shared until the fundraiser event and the big reveal.
“So you aren’t against the calendar any longer?” Theo asked, kicking my foot under the table, stirring me from my thoughts. I’d been easily distracted this morning.
It was no wonder. After that mind blowing sex we’d had in my bed, I dragged Georgia to the shower and washed her from head to toe. Saw her without makeup. With her hair wet and far from styled.
She looked different, but still my GG. I had a feeling I was the only one who ever saw her that way. While I had no factual data on this–and I wasn’t asking–I doubted she let her ex shower with her. If he’d been fucking around on her, why would she share this intimate side of her with him?
I felt lucky. Special. And a horndog. Because after I soaped her all up, paying very thorough attention to her perfect tits and her greedy pussy, I pressed her against the tile, dropped to my knees and ate her out. Then I fucked her up against the tile.
Oh yeah, my kind of shower.
Unfortunately, I had to get dressed and leave for the training. Those two rounds were all we were going to get in because Andy woke up when I was making coffee.
Theo kicked my foot again. What had he asked? Oh yeah.
“From what I saw, Georgia’s got a good eye. She and the photographers are doing a great job.”
“I didn’t think I’d hear you say that,” he replied.
I picked up my water and gulped some down. “Yeah, well, I can’t knock the calendar or what she’s doing with it.”
“But?”
“But I’m still not thrilled being in it.”
“You don’t have to be in it.”
I gave him a look. “Yes, I do. I’m the chief. Of course, I do.”
“So no sexy spread for Mr. January?”
I had to smile. “Hardly.”
“Well, I can’t wait to see the final product.
What about your dad? How’s he doing?” Theo asked, changing the subject.
The other end of the table was talking about the new chainsaws that were being delivered.
Pearsons Tree and Landscaping were going to take us into the woods for next weekend’s training to learn how to use them.
“Stopped by his place this morning,” I said. “He’s fine. Cranky.”
“That’s to be expected.”
“I think he’s more annoyed than anything else. He can’t drive or take care of Andy like he usually does.”
“Where is Andy this morning?” he asked.
“Birthday party. GG dropped him off.”
“GG?” he asked, eyebrow up.
Yeah, GG.
“I’ll get him in a little while,” I said, not telling Theo why I called her my Gorgeous Georgia, and maybe I needed to keep it to myself. “The mom knows if I’m late that I’m on a call and he can hang out.”
“Need long term help? Verna told me to tell you she can send out a fill-in schedule.”
I was used to the community spirit in Hunter Valley, but I was usually one of the ones doing the helping. It felt different–and nice–when others were willing to pitch in and assist in return.
“Tell her thanks, but Georgia’s volunteered to do the things Dad can’t.”
His brow went up and squeezed a slice of lemon over his iced tea. “Is that right?”
He studied me as if my usual fire uniform was telling him something. While I wasn’t on shift today but worked the training, I wore the same clothes as if I was, in case we got a call. We didn’t always put on our bunker gear, so we needed to be identifiable to everyone as part of the department.
I grinned, thinking about how Andy put us together the night before. He had no clue what he’d done, but I sure as fuck was thankful. So was my dick. So, so thankful.
He set his forearms on the table and leaned in. “You’re smiling. That can only mean one thing.”
My grin was answer enough. I shrugged, downplaying it.
From when she walked out of the secure area of the airport and I got my first glimpse of her, I wanted Georgia.
My dick was like a homing beacon, a tuning fork that aimed straight for her.
Fucking her was a foregone conclusion, but I never expected to do it in my bed.
And this morning? When I finally got inside her?
Holy. Fuck.
It’d been a while, sure. But it hadn’t been mind-blowing because I’d been pussy deprived.
No, it had been Georgia herself. The mix of tentative and wild.
Responsive and fucking perfect. Every inch of her was made for me.
That ass. Those tits. Her smiles. Her moans.
The way she’d said she’d be a good girl for me.
Her–Georgia Lee Gantry–was tailor made for me with everything I ever wanted in a woman.
The jolt I got from our handshake at the airport hadn’t been all floofy and froufrou like some sappy, streaming romcom movie. It had been a thing. Because the connection with Georgia during sex? Like we were one. Best sex ever.
I cleared my throat and had no plans to tell Theo that. He was a doctor and would tell me I needed medical intervention. Psych evaluation. Or just laugh.
Whatever I help needed, I didn’t want. I liked how I felt when I was with her.
And I wanted to do it again. Except–Andy.
Except–she was going back to Georgia as soon as her work was done.
Casual meant whenever sex. Fun sex. Hot.
Heavy. Hard. Dirty. I never expected her to be in my bed.
My shower. It made things complicated. Especially when I didn’t want to go back to sleeping alone when she felt so damned good in my arms.
While Andy was going to be thrilled his dad and new mom were sharing a bed, it was a horrible idea when it came to his well-being. It’d only be validating his whole new mom obsession when all it was was me being a greedy fucker who wanted easy access to Georgia.
“Wait until I tell you what happened.”
He held up a hand. “I don’t need the play by play.”
The server dropped off our burgers, the scent of grilled meat hit my nose and made my stomach rumble.
As I put my napkin in my lap, I said, “Listen, you fucker.”
I told him about Andy and how he put us in the bedroom together, slammed the door and told us to try it.
By the time I was done, he was grinning.
He reached for the ketchup and poured some on his plate beside his fries. “Sounds like you need some kid-free time with her.”
I shrugged and tucked into my burger. Andy hadn’t ever crimped my style with a woman before.
Not that me having a kid bothered Georgia.
I had to wonder if she liked Andy better than me.
No, it was that Andy was a little chaperone.
While he was all too eager to put us together, she and I couldn’t do any of the things I wanted.
Like get her naked and get her on her knees.
Or riding me. Or bent over my couch. Or anything else on my ever-growing list entitled Ways to Fuck Georgia into Forgetting Her Name.
“Kinda hard with my dad out of commission,” I said, snagging a salty fry.
“We’ll take him tonight,” he offered. “A sleepover.”
I almost choked on my burger. I swallowed hard. “You two? You guys have sworn off having kids.”
He and Mallory didn’t want children of their own.
Among their friends, they’d made it known.
From what he told me, Theo had a dick dad and didn’t feel like he had a good role model.
And, up until last summer, he’d been a more-than-full-time surgeon where kids never came up.
As for Mallory, she was a teacher and had kids around her all day. That was enough for her.
“Having them.” He popped a fry in his mouth. “We like them just fine, but we also like giving them back to their parents. We’re planning on rocking the aunt and uncle role.”
Right, because Dex and Lindy were having a baby in the next few weeks.
“I thought this was casual,” he said, using his napkin to wipe his mouth. “When we saw you at Kincaids, we told you to fuck her, not marry her. She’s only here for the fundraiser project.”
“That’s right.”
“No feelings being caught?”
I shook my head. “Nope.”
Sure, I was ready to put on my lights and siren and get to her so I could take her again as fast as possible, but I knew better than to catch feelings.
This was casual. No strings. She hadn’t been here a week yet and we were hot and heavy.
She wouldn’t be here long. My dick didn’t have distance vision.
It was only interested in the here and now. And in Georgia.
Theo had told me to listen to my dick. Well, I was.
I was used to people leaving. My mother.
Yeah, she died and I still grieved her loss all these years later.
Then Tracy. She’d made a choice and it hadn’t been her family.
Then there’d been Teri. It was easier to be in control, have the expectations set up front.
I’d done that with Georgia. She knew the deal here. I was her post-divorce rebound.
I’d let her go when it was time. No big deal.
“And Mal and I will talk to him about his obsession with her being his new mom,” he said, reminding me I had a child that was having a big problem with no strings.
“Thanks. I need all the help I can get with that.”
In the meantime, a night alone with Georgia? No meddling Andy? No keeping her moans and screams quiet? The chance to cross bend her over the couch off the list?
Fuck, yeah.
