Page 35 of Noah's Reckoning
A curse, one last, hard thrust then I felt it. Felt him jerking and coming inside me.
I was right. It did make me come.
“Noah,” I whispered as my body exploded with the kind of languid, easy pleasure I had never really experienced.
Rolling off me, he was on his back. Grunting and panting. I turned toward him even as I could feel him dripping between my legs. “I’m sorry,” I said. “Are you mad at me?”
“That wasn’t smart,” he said tightly.
“I know. I just…”
“What?” he pressed.
“I like it.” I wasn’t sure how to explain it. Only that it felt right to have my man come deep inside of me. Which was ridiculous on several levels. The primary reason being I could hardly consider Noah mine. The second and more obvious reason was the risk of pregnancy. I was a career woman, I couldn’t have a baby.
Well, of course I could. But did I want a baby? No. Maybe. Someday. Ugh.
He lifted his head and kissed the top of my forehead. “I like it, too,” he muttered.
Then he sat up and it was my turn to groan.
“Got to get the fire going then check on the traps.”
Right. That whole survival thing was still in play.
“Two days since the storm passed. They should find us soon.”
He stepped into his jeans without his boxer briefs and I knew it was because when he got back to the cabin after he did what he needed to do, we were going to fuck again.
Because we couldn’t not do it.
“They should.”
He stepped outside to do his morning business. Then he was back and getting the fire started.
“I think I can do that now,” I said, pointing at the fire. “Unless you don’t trust me.”
Noah backed off and handed me the flint without blinking. “You got it. I’ll head out and see if we caught anything for dinner.”
“Will you be gone all day again?”
Was that wistfulness in my voice?
He walked over and dropped a kiss on my lips. “Shouldn’t take me long to check the traps. Then I’ll be back, and we’ll figure out what we want to do for the rest of the day.”
He wiggled his eyebrows. I laughed and hit his shoulder.
Then his face changed like he was considering something. “Been going hard at you, Liv,” he said in a low and throaty voice.
“I know. I like it,” I whispered back.
“You have to tell me if it’s too much.”
I said nothing because it would never be too much. Not with Noah.
He cupped the back of my head with his hand and pulled me close for another kiss.
Then he was gone, and it was strange. Like there was this piece of my body suddenly missing. I shook my head and went to work on starting a proper fire. In no time I had it going without smoking out the entire cabin. I did my morning business and used some melted snow to clean me up as best I could.
