“Bewitching?”he asked, with his head slightly cocked to the side.
She grinned and pointed to several pieces of erotic décor on the walls and tables.“The décor is tastefully done, giving the club a balance of elegance and eroticism. It’s very captivating.”
He chuckled.“I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone describe this place like you just did.But I like it.”
Riley felt as if she had to force those words out of her mouth, but she did it all with a big fucking smile on her face.
“Now, I could be wrong, but a lune is a crescent shape formed by two intersecting circles. And seeing that almost everything inside the club, including the room, is circular or crescent-shaped, I’m guessing that is where the name of the club originated from—Club Lune.”
Adam’s eyes widened, and his expression was pure shock. But then a huge smile broke out on his lips.
“Wow!I’m very impressed,” he said, sitting forward in the chair.“You are the only person since this club has been open to understand the meaning behind the name. That is without me explaining it first. How?”
Riley gave him a big smile and shrugged.“Geometry.”
Adam laughed.“Well, you are correct.”
Riley looked around.“I can already tell what kind of clientele you cater to.”
He smirked.“And what kind is that?”
“Exclusive. The type of people who value discretion and luxury.”
Adam appeared to eat up her words as he nodded approvingly.“This isn’t just some run-of-the-mill strip club. This place is about luxury, experience, and discretion. We offer high-end service, discreet entertainment, and exclusivity.Sure, some people come to watch the dancers, or want private entertainment. But every person who walks through those doors is vetted.I guess you could say this place operates on a membership-type admittance.”
Riley’s eyes widened a bit.“So, someone just can’t pay a cover and come in?”
“No.And that is what makes this club special and why our clients come here.Basically, what happens at Club Lune stays at Club Lune. The people who walk through those doors are power players. We are talking about Fortune 500 executives, politicians, even celebrities.”He gave her a knowing smile.“Clients bring clients here. They drink top-shelf, have access to private rooms, and they can sign contracts while being entertained.Every night, we’re maxed out. This place is more than it looks. It’s a network.”
Oh, Riley was more than sure that the place was far more than it looked, not to mention it was a network for traffickers.
“Wow!”Riley stated, acting surprised. She looked at him and wondered what exactly his role was at the club.“You seem very passionate about the place.Did you help design it or something?”
He gave her a cocky but flirty smirk right before he dropped a bombshell revelation.
“I own the club.”
Owner?Riley thought to herself while trying to keep her expression neutral.
“You own this place?”she asked, wanting to make sure she had heard him correctly.
“I do,” he confirmed.
Riley tilted her head slightly, letting out a low, impressed hum.“Well, that definitely explains your passion when talking about the place,” she said, keeping her tone light even though her mind was running a mile a minute.“I guess that means you get the best seat in the house and probably know everyone worth knowing.”
She let the words hang there, feigning casual curiosity, all while silently noting that this little interview had just become a whole lot more interesting. He just handed her a piece of crucial information, and she hadn’t even been hired yet.
Adam leaned back and crossed one leg over the other.
“I do get the best seat and close access to the most beautiful and talented women.”
Ugh, please!She wanted to gag.
“Tell me a little about yourself, Riley.”
Riley sat straight-backed on the sleek leather couch. Her legs were crossed at the ankles, and her hands rested casually in her lap.She could feel Adam’s eyes studying her with a mix of curiosity and interest.
“What would you like to know?”she asked.
