I was about to scream when suddenly I heard someone rushing in towards the door.

It swung open, and I could finally dash inside.

Vivian had opened the door for me, while Frankie was right behind her.

Jacob had scurried away to the far corner of the room.

He held a coat hanger to defend himself, and he wasn’t wearing any pants.

Fortunately, this caveman wasn’t butt-naked.

I quickly darted my eyes around the room, looking for a weapon for future use. I spotted a small lamp on the nightstand, an empty peanut butter jar on the floor, and a wooden baseball bat tucked away in the half-shut closet. I kept my options in mind.

“Hey,” Vivian said with a smile.

“Hey.”

“Heather, are you seeing this man? He took off his pants,” Frankie scoffed.

“Please don’t fight,” Vivian pleaded.

I slowly inched closer to Jacob as he gave me a suspicious look.

“I knew it was you. There’s no way Luna wants to talk to me. You’re a dirty liar,” Jacob hissed.

“What the hell are you doing here, dog-face?”

“I’m here because I wanna get some ass. Is that so bad? All of you do it,” Jacob pointed out.

“Have you lost your damn mind?”

“No. I have not. My mind is perfectly inside my head.”

“You sound like a primate,” I commented.

“You know what, Heather? I don’t care what you call me anymore. You’re a complete bitch ! As a matter of fact, why don’t you come over here and fondle my balls?”

My face felt red-hot as he began cackling.

“Oh, damn!” Vivian exclaimed.

I instantly went into destructive mode as I sprinted towards the closet to snatch the baseball bat.

My vision blurred as I began swinging in every direction he might have been in.

I smashed parts of the ceiling, the walls, the lamp, and other objects in my very violent attempt to pop Jacob’s head like a water balloon.

I imagined him as a Mexican pinata that needed to be destroyed to release the candies inside. Jacob somehow dodged my swings as he tumbled to the floor and screamed. It was music to my ears. I was going to kill him.

“Heather, no.”

“Do it, Heather. Get his ass.”

“Frankie, she’s breaking your room.”

“I don’t care. This is entertainment.”

“Heather, wait. Please don’t kill me.”

“What was that about fondling balls? Say it again,” I dared.

Jacob quickly crawled out the door like a frightened insect while I closely followed him. Frankie took out his phone to record, and Vivian wasn’t far behind. He almost fell down the stairs as he sprinted into the crowd.

He bumped into many people and spilled drinks as he desperately attempted to avoid me. I speed-walked over to him as I swung in his direction. I broke a few beer bottles as the crowd cheered me on. They even chanted.

“Super Star, Super Star, Super Star, Super Star.”

“I’m so sorry, Heather. Please,” Jacob pleaded.

“Come here, you weasel. Stop running around.”

From the corner of my eye, I briefly saw Eddy’s face. He was in utter shock, as was Luna. He exited the kitchen and made his way towards me. Frankie and Vivian ran down the stairs as well.

“Heather, stop. This is very not chill,” Vivian complained.

“Heather, what the hell is going on? You’re going to seriously hurt someone!” Eddy exclaimed.

“This son of a bitch is the only person who hurts people,” I exclaimed.

“Heather, you’re destroying Frankie’s house,” Eddy pointed out.

“Yeah, my parents might get a little mad,” Frankie added.

Jacob finally tripped and fell to the floor while I was on his heels.

I prepared myself to swing down the bat like a rubber hammer at one of those carnival games that determine your strength.

As I went down hard, Jacob closed his eyes and curled into a ball.

I hit him in the legs, which made a loud thud. The crowd cheered.

I brought it back up and blindly swung down as a massive surge of heat swelled inside my face. I hit his shoulder blade with a deafening crack. He groaned in pain as the crowd oohed .

I then brought it back up for a final blow. I aimed squarely for his head as he opened up from his curled position and looked me in the eyes. He had a few tears streaming down his cheeks.

I hesitated for half a second before I swung, but it stopped mid-swing.

I saw two manly hands stop the bat with great strength—the bat was pulled away from me and tossed to Frankie.

It was Eddy, looking quite frustrated. I was outraged but immediately calmed down when I noticed the concerned look on his face.

“Eddy, why did you do that?”

“Come on, Heather, this is insane. What are you gonna do, bludgeon him to death? You’ve hurt him enough already. What’s wrong with you?” Eddy asked.

“What’s wrong with you? I’m not finished yet,” I replied, quite irritated.

“Heather, how far are you gonna take this revenge thing? This has gotten way out of hand. You’ve destroyed Frankie’s house, and you’ve assaulted Jacob. What is it that you’re trying to achieve?”

“You know what I’m trying to achieve, doofus. He started all this. He barged in on Frankie and Vivian with no pants. He told me to fondle his balls. What the hell do you expect me to do?” I asked.

“I didn’t know about that.”

“I know you didn’t.”

“Regardless of that, I still think this has gotten out of hand,” Eddy remarked.

I stayed quiet as my internal rage began festering inside of me. I knew I was still hyper from the adrenaline rush I got when I smacked Jacob around with a bat.

I didn’t want to say anything I would later regret, but I was confused.

He was alright with Jacob being pelted with piggies and being called a Nazi online.

Hell, when the Terror Twins ambushed me, he defended me along with Vivian.

That night, at that party, there was a sudden change in his attitude regarding my feud with Jacob.

I noticed it a few days back when he asked me out to the party.

I knew there was something on his mind, something he wanted to confess, but just didn’t.

I thought it was just that. I thought he was nervous about asking me out and didn’t know how, but that wasn’t it.

Afterwards, he still had that same look, and now I knew why.

At the very beginning of all this, when I asked him to help me, he told me he was a pacifist. He didn’t like conflict.

Vivian was the same way, but she was my best friend.

She always had my back. I realized Eddy helped me because he really did like me, but I hadn’t realized that until later.

He was willing to do things he wouldn’t have done otherwise.

Vivian came over to me and interlocked her arm with mine.

“We should get out of here,” Vivian suggested.

“Okay, let’s go. Eddy’s pissing me off, anyway,” I replied.

He scoffed.

“Alright then,” Vivian added.

As the crowd dissipated, I walked away with Vivian.

“Viv, I’ll call you,” Frankie assured her.

When we exited the front door, I felt nauseous. I stopped in the middle of the front yard and jerked my head downward, and puked.

“Oh my god, Heather. I think you drank too much. All that excitement with Jacob probably didn’t help either.”

Vivian held my hair as I emptied from my stomach what I’d drunk.

“In my opinion, I didn’t drink enough,” I joked.

“In my opinion, you shouldn’t drink again,” Vivian remarked.

“That is very demonic thinking,” I pointed out.

“What?” Vivian asked with a confused look.

“I don’t know,” I replied.

“Hey, Heather.”

I almost fell to the floor when I saw who called my name.

“What do you want, Jacob? Do you want me to stab you in the face?” I asked.

“Heather, c’mon,” Vivian reacted.

“I’m a little drunk. So, I know I was acting like an asshole,” Jacob admitted.

“You act like an asshole even when you’re not drunk, you stupid ass,” I said angrily.

“I know. I know I do. It’s just… I feel bad about this whole thing,” Jacob explained.

“You feel bad now? Are you serious? After all you’ve done, you very conveniently feel bad after I almost broke your head?” I asked.

“I know it sounds crazy, but I’m… I’m sorry,” Jacob said apologetically.

“Well, this is shocking,” Vivian said with a surprised look on her face.

“Yeah, because he’s lying like the complete hog he is,” I spat out.

I stumbled over to Jacob while Vivian held my arm.

“Heather, please don’t hit him. Let’s try to be chill.”

“I won’t hit him. Relax.”

“You can hit me if you want—I deserve it,” Jacob added.

I looked right into his eyes and peered into his soul. I didn’t believe a single word he said. After all, he was drunk. I knew he didn’t mean any of it.

“Oh, please. Cut the sympathy card, Jacob. You’re a bully, and you need to learn how to respect people.

You know what I think? I think your BU Scholarship is in trouble.

That’s why you’re trying to end this. Well, guess what?

It’s not happening. You started this, and I’ll be the one who’ll finish it. ”

I pulled back as far as I could and clobbered him right in the nose. He yelped and tripped backwards.

“Okay, we’re leaving right now. That was very not chill,” Vivian said with certainty.

“That was perfectly chill.”

As we left, I glanced back and saw that Jacob bled from his nose, and I relished in satisfaction.

In my eyes, he finally got what he truly deserved.

A high-quality ass-kicking. I hadn’t forgotten what he had done to me.

He leaked my nudes for virtually no reason.

I was willing to go to the ends of the Earth to make him as miserable as he had made me.

Once I got home, I rushed past my worrisome mother and completely shut her out as I bolted upstairs. She was right—I held grudges. As I sat on my bed, I massaged my pounding head. The pounding headache got worse when I received another message from angel66 .

“That was a nice party you went to, Heather.”

This message creeped me out. This person was probably at the party or saw the pictures online. Either way, this meant he went to my school. I still thought it was Jacob or one of his idiotic friends, because someone outside of that circle wouldn’t have made any sense.

“I’m happy you’re still having fun after ruining my life.”

“I know it’s either you, Jacob, or Carlos. Get laid! If that’s even possible for either of you,” I replied.

“I needed you that day. You betrayed me.”

This sounded absolutely ridiculous. I knew in my heart that I didn’t ruin anyone’s life except for Jacob’s, and he obviously deserved it, so I didn’t care if angel66 turned out to be him.

“What the hell are you talking about? Who are you? I hope you know you’re a strange loser with no life,” I replied.

“I have a plan, Heather, and there’s no way you’ll see it coming. I’m going to ruin your life, and there’s nothing you’ll be able to do about it.”

“You sound like a corny supervillain from a kids’ cartoon. Please eat shit and die,” I replied.

After that, the account went dark again. I thought about blocking it, but I enjoyed entertaining their nonsense.

As I tried to fall asleep, my mom knocked on the door. I ignored it as my eyelids grew heavy. I dreamt of shooting Jacob out of a cannon on a pirate ship while he was on fire. I imagined his ear-shattering screams as his flesh crackled and burned. It was a marvelous sight.
