Page 6 of Mommy Calls Me Princess (Mommies and Littles #1)

Chapter Five

Darcy

I want my mommy.

During our bedtime stories I’d fall asleep to the comforting sound of her voice, then a couple hours later I’d be wide awake. I’m exhausted. I can’t think straight and all I want to do is curl up with my stuffies and cry.

What’s wrong with me?

I want my mommy. She makes everything better.

I had zero clue what time it was or even where the hell in the world I am, I have to call her. I need to see her face and hear her voice. I can’t breathe. Help!

“Mommy.” The tears hit as soon as she answered and there was no stopping them.

“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?”

“I-I can’t no more. So tired.” Breathing was ridiculously hard. Was this what a panic attack felt like? I don’t like it. Make it stop!

“Darcy, take a deep breath with me.” Mommy drew in a big breath and held it for a couple of seconds then let it out, and I copied her. “Good girl, now another one.” We did it two more times and by then I was able to breathe again. “Now, tell Mommy what happened.”

“Not sleeping. Not eating. So tired, Mommy.”

“Those dark circles under your eyes worry me, Princess. What can I do to help?”

“Hold me, Mommy. I sleep better when I’m with you. You make everything alright.”

“Sweet girl, I’d give anything to hold you right now but that’s just not possible. How can I make it better from here?”

Mommy was so sad, and I hated that I did that to her. But I was sad too and she was my lifeline.

“I’m sorry I woke you up and made you sad, Mommy.”

“Little girl, don’t you ever apologize for reaching out when you need your Mommy. I’d be more upset if I found out later you didn’t call. I’ll never get mad at you for waking me up. My girl will always come first.”

“Mommy, will you tell me a story?”

“How about the little girl who found out she was really a princess?”

“That sounds wonderful.”

“There once was a little girl who lived in a faraway land. Her family was poor, but their house was always full of love.”

Mommy’s voice was so soothing I fell asleep before she finished the story and I wanted to know what happened to the princess.

Phooey.

“Darcy?” McKenna called out, I was buried in the supply room stocking the carts.

“In here.”

“I’ve been looking all over for you. Staff Captain Miller is here and he’s asking for you.”

“He is?” My brain instantly ran through anything I could’ve messed up. He never came to see us unless there was an issue.

“Hello Darcy, Captain Solis has requested a meeting with you.”

I swear to fuck my heart stopped.

“Am-am I in trouble?”

“I don’t believe so, he didn’t seem upset. Just sent me to retrieve you.”

McKenna’s eyes widened. “You better go. I’ll finish the carts.”

“Thank you.”

This return cruise was nearly over, we’d just docked in San Diego for the day, and many passengers disembarked.

That allowed our staff to get in and out of their rooms without any interruptions.

My team hadn’t missed any calls, and no complaints had been made that we were aware of.

Besides, none of that would’ve reached the captain himself.

There were enough minions between him and us to address any issues that arose before reaching that level.

What threw me off was instead of leading me to the bridge, Staff Captain Miller took me to Captain Solis cabins. Were Jalen and I having another playdate? I could really use one.

“Go on in, he’s expecting you.” Captain Miller was a man of little emotion. Normally that was okay but in this instance it only served to set my already frayed nerves further on edge.

I brushed off and straightened my uniform then took a deep breath and opened the door. “Captain Solis?” I called out. “You wanted to see me?”

Jalen came running up and grabbed my hand. He was far too happy right now.

“Come on, Darcy. Hurry up.”

“I’m here to see your…” I stopped dead in my tracks. “Mommy?”

“Yes, Princess. I’ve come to take you home.”

I burst into tears and launched myself at her. Thankfully mommy was a lot stronger than me. “Mommy, I missed you so much.”

“I missed you too, my love, and I didn’t like seeing you sad.”

“But how did you?” I glanced between her and Captain Solis, who smiled just as wide as Mommy was.

“Please forgive mommy for being sneaky, but we have a mutual friend in Captain Solis.”

“We do?”

“Yes. Your mommy is the one who helped me find my boy. Well, Blush did. We’ve known each other for years.”

“Can you forgive mommy for being sneaky?”

“Best kind of sneaky ever, Mommy. But what about my job?”

“Darcy,” Captain Solis took my hand and led me over to the couch. “You’re wonderful at your job but is this your lifelong dream?”

“No, sir.”

“You’re not sleeping, you’re not eating, and you miss your mommy.

Jalen would be a mess if he wasn’t with me all the time.

” I glanced over at my new friend whose head bobbed up and down.

“Those who don’t live our lifestyle don’t understand the depth of the bonds we form.

When we love, we love hard and it’s a special kind of love, almost like fated mates.

” I giggled. My love of fated mates’ stories made it all make sense.

“I’ll give you a glowing recommendation for any job you apply for, but I think it’s best you go home with your mommy where you belong. ”

I hugged him so hard he fell back onto the couch. Jalen was beside us giggling.

“Will I ever see you and Jalen again?”

“I can promise you that. Not only are we members at Blush, but your mommy invited us to come visit any time we’re ashore.”

“Really Mommy?”

“Really, really, Princess.”

Now I cried happy tears. Mommy rescued me like a mommy in shining armor, and I had a new friend. And I wasn’t in trouble. Captain Solis wasn’t even mad at me.

“Now, go pack your bags and enjoy San Diego with your mommy. Leave your uniforms in your cabin and I’ll have McKenna take care of them for you.” I hugged him again, then a wiggling Jalen. He was just as excited as I was.

“Armando, thank you for everything,” Mommy hugged him. “Jalen, it was wonderful to see you again. Thank you for taking such good care of my princess.”

“I have a new friend,” Jalen beamed then hugged mommy. “I can’t wait to see your toys, Darcy.”

Poor guy, little did he know he’d already seen my sad little collection. But I didn’t say that out loud. I had my mommy and that was better than any toys.

“Okay, Princess, lead the way.”

So. Freaking. Excited.

I practically ran through the halls, dragging poor mommy behind me. Her eyes were wide as she took it all in.

“I’ve never been on a cruise ship before. These halls are never ending.”

The giggles were back. “This is only one hallway, Mommy. This ship has like twenty levels, but all the crew areas are below deck. We have to take the elevator to get there.”

We stepped inside and mommy looked around. “I expected a grander elevator.”

“This is the service elevator. Since I’m in uniform I’m required to use it. We can take the regular one if you want after we get my stuff. I’m so excited you’re here.” Mommy took me in her arms and squeezed, then wove her fingers through my ponytail and tugged.

“Me too. I don’t like seeing my Princess tired and upset. First thing after we drop your bags off in our hotel room, we’re going to feed you.”

“We have a hotel room?”

“We do. I thought we’d spend a couple of days in San Diego, decompressing before we return to our busy life.”

“Ugh, I’ll have to look for a new job. I hate interviews.”

“I can’t imagine anyone likes them, but sweetheart,” Mommy tilted my chin up. “If you don’t want to work you don’t have to.”

“Wait. What?” I paused outside my room, mid-reach for the handle as the words sunk in.

“Why don’t you open the door. We can talk once we’re inside.” I nodded and opened the door. With it closed behind us, there wasn’t much room to move around with two bodies in here. “Never expected the cabins to be this small.”

“The crew cabins always are. So are some of the passenger ones too. The bigger rooms cost big bucks.”

“Let’s get you changed.” I grabbed a clean shirt, and a pair of shorts and Mommy helped me get dressed. I missed all the nice things mommy did for me. “Princess, are diapers an aspect you’re wanting to try?”

I shook my head. “No, Mommy. I don’t want diapers or training pants. I want pretty princess panties with rainbows and unicorns and butterflies. But I also want sexy ones for grown up times.”

Mommy’s eyes widened. “Thank you for being honest with me.”

“Did you want me to wear diapers? I can try it if you want.” I didn’t want to, but right now I’d do anything for mommy. I still can’t believe she came for me.

“No, it’s not something I’m interested in, but I was willing to try for you. I like the idea of separating big and little time with a simple item like panties. Gives mommy a hint at where your pretty head is at.”

Giggles came so easily with her around. “I like special tickles when I’m little too.”

“Yes, you do.” Mommy kissed me. “I missed those sweet lips.”

“Mmm, me too.” As much as I wanted more sexy time, I was afraid I’d fall asleep in the middle of it.

“Let’s get you packed and out of here.”

I pulled the suitcase from the top of the closet, and while Mommy packed, I searched every inch of the cabin, under the bed, and in the bathroom, for all my stuff.

“Is that it?”

“Yup,” I nodded. “I left my uniforms on the dresser for McKenna. I need to text her and let her know I’m leaving.” Before I got the words typed, someone knocked on the door. “McKenna, I was just texting you.”

“Are you okay?”

“I am. This is my mommy, she came to take me home.”

“You got fired?”

“No, well yes, but not in a bad way. Captain Solis said he’d give me a letter of recommendation. I’m not in trouble but he knew I was sad, and Mommy called him and here she is.” My hands had a mind of their own, waving all over the place.

“I’m Vivienne. It’s wonderful to finally meet you, McKenna. Thank you for taking such good care of my girl for me.”

“You’re welcome. Ugh, I hate to see you leave. We made a great team.”

“We did,” McKenna and I hugged. “But you have my number so next time you’re off message me and we’ll hang out.”

“I’d like that.” Her radio went off and she shook her head. “I better get going,” I handed her my uniforms. “It was nice to meet you, Vivienne. I’ll for sure see you guys on my next break.”

As soon as the door shut, I remembered something mommy had said. “Mommy, what did you mean when you said I don’t have to work if I don’t want to.”

Mommy kissed the top of my head and sat on the bed.

“I meant just that. You don’t need to work.

Or, if you want to, you could help in the littles room at Blush.

Either way, I’d like to wake up with you, go to work with you, go home with you, and give you special tickles at bedtime.

What do you say, do you want to be mommy’s full-time princess? ”

“For real? I mean, I need to earn something, but if you’re serious about the littles room, I’d love that. I want to be with you all the time too, Mommy. You keep the sads away.”

“I try my best, baby girl. But I’m sure mommy will screw up from time to time. That’s when you need to be a big girl and talk to mommy and let me know. Don’t stew in it or act up because of it. Mommy can’t fix what she doesn’t know is broken. Deal?”

“Deal, Mommy.” I gave her a big smacky kiss. “Let’s go.”

“Lead the way, my love.”

I was all smiles as we walked through the ship, pointing out the different places to Mommy. Mommy was getting an insider’s glimpse into my world, or what used to be my world. Now my world consisted of one thing – Mommy.

“I knew these ships were huge, but I had no idea there was so much going on inside them. A movie theater, food court, shopping center, restaurants. Is that a casino?”

“It is. This ship has three pools, and a water slide too. Bars everywhere, nail and hair salons and even a spa. There is also a real theater where they do live plays and sometimes even have ice skating shows.”

“Wow. How do they get the ice made?”

“Great question, but that’s one for the maintenance team. Once they start rattling off technical stuff, it goes right over my head. I clean rooms, or I did, and that’s about it for me.”

“Silly, smart girl. You already know more than you realize.”

We disembarked and Mommy and I got into the car service waiting curbside for us. I was so excited to officially start our new life together. We kinda had but then I left. My new life was gonna be great!

Many times, the cruises I’d worked on stopped in San Diego, but never once had I stepped foot into the city itself.

My eyes were glued to the windows as the driver weaved through town.

It was exciting to go to someplace new. The weather was perfect, many people were out walking around, enjoying the day.

Mommy slid her fingers through mine. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it Princess?”

“Yes, and no rain.” There were times I loved the Seattle weather and others when I didn’t. We never got enough outdoor time between bursts of rain, and it never failed, the days I had time to hit the park or even the zoo, it rained.

“Is this our hotel?” I stepped out of the car and into the sounds of the waves crashing.

“Do we have a view of the ocean?” Deciding to take a job on a cruise ship was a no brainer for me.

I loved the water even though I hadn’t spent much time in it, just on the ship.

Whenever there was a break in work I loved to sit on deck and stare out at the water.

“It is. Wait until you see the view from our room.” Mommy waved the valet over. He loaded my luggage onto a cart and followed us up in the elevator.

Mommy tipped the valet while I wandered around. “This room is huge.” It had a living room and a separate bedroom.

“Wait until you see this.” She pulled the curtains back and opened the double doors to the balcony.

“This is amazing. I love the sound of the waves breaking.”

“There’s an entrance downstairs that takes you out to a private beach. How about we spend tomorrow being lazy, soaking up the sunshine.”

“Sounds perfect to me.”
