Page 63 of Merciless Obsession (The Bloodline #2)
Ezra lifted his hand and my eyes dropped down to him. He swiped his tongue over his lip. Desire bloomed deep inside me watching my juices drench his mouth and trickle down his chin.
“That was better than any birthday cake.” He moved up and hovered his face over mine. He licked my lips then stuck his tongue out. Taking the hint, I leaned up and wrapped my lips around it, sucking it slowly. The taste of myself exploded in my mouth. His dick poked at my opening.
Everything tonight was completely out of character for me, but it was insane how safe Ezra had made me feel in the short amount of time I’d known him.
The kiss grew more intense. Between my thighs throbbed with need.
Passion gushed up my spine when he reached for my breasts again, claiming them with his hands.
Ezra lifted and stared down at me with a low, heated gaze.
One of his hands moved down between my legs and he fondled my clit.
He muttered with soft, harsh breaths in a gruff, sultry tone.
His lips lightly brushed over mine when he spoke again.
“My muse, my perfect masterpiece, so beautiful, so breathtaking, and all mine .”
I came again, and for a second, everything went black as ecstasy exploded inside me.
____
“What got you into bondage and photography?” I asked Ezra as we lay in bed.
After cumming so hard I temporarily blacked out, Ezra untied me and fucked me until I couldn’t even remember my name. He was animalistic and primal. Almost as if he was taken over by some possessive beast that had to stake claim on his territory.
Now it was the next day and my body was sore, my throat ached, and my eyes were still heavy with sleep, but oddly, I felt at peace.
I lay on my side with my hands tucked under my head.
I wasn’t sure how long he had been up, but when I opened my eyes he was working on a laptop next to me, sitting up against his headboard.
Ezra took his eyes off his laptop and peeked down at me.
The question had been gnawing at me for a minute now.
I never was the one to knock anyone’s kink, but Ezra’s went above being into bondage.
The pictures and control he had to have also played a large part.
When I finally agreed to let go and let him have his way last night with no rebuttal, I saw another side of Ezra.
His eyes shone with a blinding brightness, even though they were dark with ardor.
“I was wondering when you would ask,” Ezra expressed with that crooked grin forming on his mouth.
“When I was nineteen I started dating this woman. She was older than me and introduced me to bondage. Before her I didn’t even know something like bondage interested me, but the more we explored different ties and positions, the more I wanted to explore it.
The pictures came later, once I realized I enjoyed seeing her tied up more than anything. ”
The way he spoke about this woman made my stomach knot up. It was clear he was fond of her at one point, and I could be crazy, but a hint of mischief seemed to pass through his eyes as he spoke. My mind went to the conversation I had with his dad.
“This woman.” I cleared my throat. “Did you love her?”
The smile on his face grew snide. “Some would say I’m not capable of love.”
“Then, did you feel about her how you feel about me?” The words were heavy as they left my mouth.
“Oh, Bumblebee.” He closed his laptop, giving me his full attention. “The way I feel about you I’ve never felt for anyone before.”
“But you’ve obsessed over a woman before, right? Even got into some trouble behind it.”
He stifled a laugh. “Looks like Padre left no stones unturned.” His face suddenly turned serious.
“The woman you’re referring to, Toya, is the same woman who introduced me to bondage.
She was thirty-five when I got involved with her and married.
At first it was harmless, her husband worked in a job that kept him busy and, on the road, so she looked for comfort elsewhere.
The affair grew more serious when she introduced bondage to me and it was then I knew I couldn’t give her up.
She loved how attentive I was when it came to her since she lacked it with her husband.
Eventually being the other man wasn’t enough for me.
I’m a selfish lover, as you may have noticed, and sharing wasn’t easy for me.
“Toya told me she was separated from her husband and filing for divorce. The affair went on for a year and one day, while her husband was supposed to be gone on business, he came home early. Apparently, he had an idea that she was having an affair and wanted to catch her in the act. Long story short, he caught us and shot her. I went into a rage, got the gun away from him and killed him. At least, I think that’s what happened. ”
My face twisted in confusion. “You think?” Slowly, I lifted off the bed.
“I blacked out.” He shrugged. “When I came to, River was there and my dad arrived shortly after. I don’t remember calling him, but I guess I did and he called my dad.
The husband was a big deal, some big shot in the business world and his absence would be noticed.
Dad and River did what they needed to clean it up and keep it out of the press and that’s when he forced me to see someone, no longer ignoring the fact that I wasn’t like my brothers. ”
Ezra talked about this event as if it was nothing to him. Like he wasn’t talking about a double homicide.
“Anyway, my dad told me the way I felt about Toya was unhealthy and it was something I needed to let go of before all that even happened.”
“He knew?” My brows shot up.
“Of course he knew. It wasn’t a lot he didn’t know when it came to his kids. Plus it wasn’t like I was trying to hide it. I could’ve care less that she was married. The more my dad told me to let it go, the more I held on. Eventually it was clear he was right, but…” Again, he shrugged.
His hand reached out and cuffed my cheek.
“Don’t worry though, Ziora, Toya couldn’t hold a candle to you.
You’re the first woman since her that I allowed to see this side of me.
No one else’s skin has been touched by my ties or captured with my lenses.
You are the one I’ve been looking for and no one will take that from you. ”
“I wasn’t worried.”
One corner of his mouth rose. “Yes you were, but I have no issue assuring you.”
Why did his words make me feel so warm and tingly inside? It felt like a weighted, warm blanket was laid over me to calm any anxiety that might bloom inside me.
“How did you get in my house last night? Not that I’m complaining.”
“You aren’t the only one who can copy keys.”
He chuckled.
Truthfully, while snooping, I found a spare key and decided to keep it. If he was able to easily get inside my house, I felt I should be able to do the same.
“My mom always throws a birthday dinner for us and I want you to come with me to it tonight.”
“Oh. Yeah, sure.”
Another milestone had been unlocked in this weird relationship that we’d formed. It hadn’t been long since he kidnapped me and held me against my will, yet the way my feelings for him had grown made it seem like years had passed between us.
____
“I knew once Ezra saw those photos of you, he wouldn’t be able to control himself. I don’t know why you hate the camera so much, but you’re hot, Ziora!” Inaya bragged before biting into the flatbread.
It’d been two days since Ezra’s birthday and I was still in disbelief with how I chose to celebrate him.
He told me he would be busy with court all day today, but he wanted me at his house tonight when he finished.
Instead of listening, I planned on being at home and hopefully he would end up in the townhouse across the street.
“Yeah, well.” I blushed and picked up my margarita, bringing the straw to my mouth. “Anyway, anything new happening at the casino?”
She shook her head. “Nothing relevant at least. There’s another big poker game coming up right before Thanksgiving though. That’s normally when everyone has loose lips.” I nodded and picked up one of my nachos and brought it to my mouth. “Speaking of, did you get a text from Nazai?”
“About meeting tonight?” I wiped my mouth. “Yeah.”
“Do you know what it’s about?”
I shook my head. “No clue, but hopefully it’s something to move things along. I’m tired of waiting with no progress.”
“It’s kind of cool, huh?” Her eyes lit up. “We started doing this just me and you and now we’re like spies or something with a whole team behind us.”
I laughed. “I wouldn’t go that far, but I get what you mean. You know Tiffany? The girl me and Ezra saved? She emailed me.”
“Saying what?” Inaya wasn’t with us, but I informed her about Tiffany and what Winston was into. Before we separated, I gave Tiffany one of my burner email addresses just to stay updated with how she was doing.
“Nothing major, just that her dad was missing and the police are currently looking for him. Her mom has her starting therapy too. She said it’s been hard but she’s trying to adjust to being home. She asked if we found the friend her dad left her with yet too.”
“The guys took care of the dad and his friend, right?”
“The dad, yes. I don’t think they were able to find the friend. He was using an nickname and there was nothing to track back to him. His phone was a burner too.”
“Damn. It’s so fucked up that all of this has been going on in our city right under our noses.”
“I know. But they always say the biggest cities have the darkest secrets.”
“You can say that again.” She picked her glass up.
Our conversation eventually shifted to something more uplifting.
Inaya was telling me how she met with Emmet at his archery club and he showed her how to shoot a bow.
I couldn’t get a read on what was going on between them.
Emmet was so quiet and distant, but it seemed like he allowed Inaya in his space or more so she forced her way into it.
We continued our brunch and after a couple hours we broke apart, agreeing to meet at her house so she could ride with me to the farmhouse. It was still mind blowing to me that we were being invited into their family meetings.
On my way home I took the back roads, knowing traffic would be heavy on the main roads. As I drove, I checked my rearview mirror, noticing a car following closely behind me. I was going well over the speed limit and they had room to pass if they wanted since it was just us two on the road.
“Get off my ass, asshole,” I mumbled, throwing my blinker on when I got close to my turn. The car turned when I did and was still on my ass. The windows were tinted too dark for me to see who was driving. The car was white and medium sized.
I pressed the button on my steering wheel to change the song. I was about fifteen minutes from my house.
It wasn’t until my second turn that I started to think the car was following me.
Each time I sped up they did the same, and when I slowed down, they stayed close to the rear of my car.
The next street I saw I threw my signal on as if I was about to turn and mid-turn I hurried and snatched my wheel forward, causing the car to reverse and come after me.
“What the fuck,” I mumbled.
I gripped my steering wheel tightly as my heart slammed wildly inside me. My eyes bounced around the road I was on, which had deep ditches on each side. I had a couple miles to go until I was back on a normal street. A couple cars passed by me going the opposite way.
Regretting not putting my phone in my holder, I reached for it so I could make a call but it was knocked out of my hand when my car was hit and jerked forward.
“Fuck!” I yanked my wheel.
My foot pushed heavy on the pedal. Panic and adrenaline rushed through me. Whoever this was, was deliberately trying to run me off the road. This time I hit the button on my steering wheel and the voice assistance rang through the car and appeared on the screen.
“Call—Ah!”
My heart fell into my stomach when the back of my car was rammed again. I saw another street coming up and quickly yanked my wheel to turn onto it. The car slammed into me again, hitting my back passenger side, causing me to lose control and my car to spin.
A high-pitched scream released from my mouth.
My car hit something and jumped. Pain shot through my head when it slammed against the windows.
My body bounced against my seatbelt. The sound of glass shattering filled my ears.
Blood rushed to the top of my head as my hearing became muffled and my vision blurred.
The warnings I received weeks back came to mind, causing my already sore chest to grow tauter.
No. It couldn’t be them.
My heart tripled in speed.
Regret filled me as I wished I would have taken the threats more seriously. Whoever was after me meant business and it was clear the warnings were now a thing of the past.
“Someone help,” I gasped through a fit of coughs.
My airbags deployed and my body was upside down.
The smell of gasoline and smoke filled my nose.
I could see the blurred outline of feet walking toward me.
My body refused to listen to my brain. It hurt everywhere.
I wasn’t sure what was going on, or who those people were, but as my eyes grew heavy, I prayed this was one of the times Ezra refused to respect my privacy and showed up to save me.
