Page 52 of Merciless Obsession (The Bloodline #2)
I got lost in my mind as I slurped and bobbed my head up and down.
It wasn’t until a hand gripped my head and pushed it down further did I snap back into reality.
My eyes flickered up and Ezra’s eyes were open now, staring down at me with burning lust. I relaxed my throat and allowed Ezra to have his way with me.
He groaned and cursed in a low, raspy voice as he came down my throat.
“Your mouth. Fuck,” he gritted.
Heat burst through my stomach.
I licked a path up to the tip, circled his length and trailed the thick vein on the side. When I got to the tip again, a soft moan left my mouth as I suckled it. My eyes went back to meet Ezra’s. His teeth sank into his bottom lip, fingers tangled in my curls.
When I lifted my head, I licked my lips, tasting him on them.
“That’s how I prefer to get woken up any day.” His hands caressed my cheek. He bounced his eyes around my face. “I thought you might wake up shaken today, but you seem fine to me.”
The corner of my bottom lip went into my mouth. I cleared my throat. “I wouldn’t say fine, but I’m not easily scared either.”
One corner of his mouth rose. “Even just waking up, you’re breathtaking.”
My cheeks flushed. “I should brush my teeth.” Pulling out of his touch, I scurried to get out of the bed and across the room to the bathroom. After releasing my bladder and washing my hands, I grabbed my toothbrush. Another first for me, having personal items at a guy’s house.
When I left the bathroom Ezra pushed off the bed and paused in front of me.
His hand went to my side. “One day you’re going to be able to accept my compliments without running away from me.
” He leaned forward and pecked my lips. The hairs on my arms raised.
Ezra continued into the bathroom, not bothering to shut the door behind him.
This man.
So many things went through my mind when it came to him and I wasn’t sure how to begin to process them all.
____
“Where are we?” I asked Ezra, looking around the expensive houses surrounding us. He pulled past the gate into the long driveway and parked in the circle.
He had left me alone most of the day and was in his office, handling whatever for his current workload while I worked on Winston’s phone and doing an extensive check into his life.
Winston wasn’t a smart criminal. He might have been good at hitting big heists and making money off what he stole, but he wasn’t the greatest at hiding evidence.
The amount of torture-like child porn on his phone made me sick to my stomach.
He was a sick sadist who loved to prey on young girls.
What was bothering me was the people he got the girls from, they were like ghosts.
They hid their tracks well, the phones they used were burners, names were never exchanged, and there was no face to put to the crime.
I went back as far as I could in Winston’s phone and there was nothing there to help us.
“My parents’ house,” Ezra answered, gaining my attention back.
I snapped my head to the side. “What? Your parents? Why the hell are we here?”
Ezra gave me a cheeky grin before pushing his door open and making his way to my side. “Don’t you think it’s time you meet your future in-laws?”
“No. No, I don’t.” My face twisted.
I had never met anyone’s parents before.
Even in my relationship a few years back, things never got that serious between us.
It was one thing to meet Dominic Tavarez because there were so many things I had wrong about him and laying eyes on him seemed necessary, but meeting him and his wife as what? I wasn’t even sure.
“Who do you even plan to tell them I am?”
When he saw I made no attempts to move, Ezra leaned over me and unhooked my seat belt then paused when his face was in front of mine.
“You’re my girl, of course.”
“Your girl? When the hell did we establish that?”
That annoying grin appeared. “When I first kidnapped you, of course. I thought it was obvious. If you want, I can tell them you’re my toy instead.”
I would have laughed if the look on his face didn’t show that he was dead ass serious. In his mind I was his and we were together.
“Ezra, this is too much.”
He tilted his head. “How so?”
I glanced toward the house. “I don’t meet parents. I don’t get into serious relationships. I have sex and leave all feelings at the door.”
For a second his eyes darkened but it quickly faded. “That was before you met me. Those other mistakes don’t even exist anymore. As far as I’m concerned, I’m the only man you’ve been with and you’re mine.”
My eyes narrowed. “And what about you?”
“Anyone before you is nonexistent of course. There’s no point in acknowledging anyone else when we’re going to be together for the rest of our lives.”
I opened my mouth to speak, but couldn’t find the right words. His eyes were so intense they choked me.
“I’ll remind you every day until you no longer question it.”
He reached for my hand, pulled back, and pulled me out of the car. He led me up the stone path to the front door and pressed the doorbell. It took a little bit, but the door opened and an older, light brown woman opened the door.
“Ezra,” she said with a grin. She widened the door, allowing us in.
“Hola, Macy.” He stepped in then kissed her cheek. Her eyes went to me.
“Oh, and who is this beauty?”
“Ziora, my woman. Ziora, this is Macy, the caretaker of the house.”
I forced a smile on my face and nodded. “Hello.”
“Ah, your woman, huh? I’m happy to see you finally settling down.”
Ezra’s arm went around me. “Me too.” He leaned over and kissed my cheek.
“Well come, come. Your parents are in the family room.” She turned and headed down the long hallway.
My eyes widened, taking in the high ceilings. This house was huge and seemed to go on forever.
“Mr. and Mrs. Tavarez, you have guests,” Macy announced when we appeared in front of his parents. They looked to be mid-conversation but stopped and turned our way.
“The sky must be falling if we’re seeing our son this many times,” his mom mentioned.
Ezra laughed and walked forward, stopping in front of her and bending to kiss her cheek.
“I’ll grab some refreshments,” Macy said, turning to leave.
“You look tired, hijo? Are you sleeping okay?” his mom asked.
“I’ve been busy at work.”
She scoffed. “Just like your father, a workaholic. You need to take better care of yourself.”
At the mention of him, I turned my attention to Dominic who was staring directly at me, his face giving nothing away.
From the outside looking in, Ezra’s parents were a power couple.
Dominic, a respectable retired judge who helped keep the city safe and his wife, the stay at home mom who kept the house together.
I’d seen interviews and Dominic always mentioned his wife was his anchor that kept his ship afloat.
Together they raised well rounded, successful kids.
“I’ll do better, Mama. But that’s not why I’m here.” Ezra turned to me. “C’mere, Bumblebee!” he called out.
I snapped my eyes to him and slowly walked toward his outstretched hand.
“You wanted to meet the woman in my life, well, here she is. My future wife, Ziora.”
Now his mom was looking at me too. “My mom Nora and my father Dominic.”
A coy smile formed on my face. “Nice to meet you both.”
His mom’s eyes peered into me, studying me intensely like only a mother could. “My son seems quite taken by you. It’s not often we see that.”
I found that hard to believe. Ezra locked on something and didn’t let it go. “He didn’t really give me a choice.”
Ezra smirked. “When I know something’s meant to be mine, I go for it until I get it.”
“Now Ezra, I’ve told you and your brothers, women are not objects.” Nora hit his arm.
He chuckled. “She knows what she is to me. Isn’t that right, Bumblebee?”
My eyes cut in his direction then went back to Dominic who had yet to say a word.
“Sit down, both of you.” Ezra led me to the loveseat next to the chair his dad was sitting in. “So, Ziora, from what I understand, you’re into computers like my son Emmet. You even run a blog, correct?”
By the way Nora was watching me I could tell she wasn’t making friendly conversation. Her tone was accusing and protective.
“Yes I do, along with other things.”
“Mhm.” Her legs crossed.
“You had a lot to say about our family as well.” Those words came from his father, his voice smooth, yet firm.
My spine straightened and I twisted to face him. “Yes, well, that’s when I thought you were the bad guys.”
His face stayed still. “You don’t believe that anymore?”
“No, I don’t. I’ve learned a lot over the past few months that cleared some things up for me.”
Dominic shifted his eyes to his son for a brief second then back to me. “You thought I was involved in a trafficking ring, I’m told.”
“Padre,” Ezra started.
Dominic said something in Spanish, silencing his son.
“I did. From what I’ve learned these men have ways of getting off and it seems the police are part of the problem. It wouldn’t have been shocking if a judge was too.”
Macy had come back with a tray of drinks and a charcuterie board. Dominic started speaking once she left.
“Nazai told me The Veil is behind everything.”
I nodded. “That’s what he says.”
“Do you believe it?”
“There’s nothing that suggests otherwise. They’re the only ones who make sense.”
Dominic stroked his chin. “The Veil has been a burden in this city for a long time. Even I couldn’t find proof to bring them down. Whenever someone gets close to bringing them to light they end up dead. Is that something you’re willing to risk?”
I could see how he made a name for himself in the justice system. Dominic was a no nonsense guy and direct with his words. He didn’t flinch when asking questions either.
“If it means avenging my sister’s death, then yes.”
“It won’t come to that,” Ezra cut in. I slid my eyes to him. “It’ll be over my dead body before I allow someone to harm what’s mine.”
“Hijo,” Dominic said.
