Page 25 of Malicious Claim
She moved closer to him and bent her ears to his mouth. He whispered something that turned her bright red. Her hand went to her mouth as she giggled. Leila was beyond enraged. She cocked the gun, drawing their attention to her.
“You think I won't do it, yeah?” She asked in a furious tone.
“I don't care what you choose to do.” He shrugged and turned his attention back to Cecelia.
Leila’s anger grew to the point of combustion. She couldn’t tell what she was more angry at. The fact he hadn’t even blinked despite his gun in her hands or the fact he was conversing with the girl that just finished sucking his dick.
With shaky fingers and clattering teeth, she pointed the gun to his head, but before she could pull the trigger, he pulled out his gun from the drawer and shot directly at the wall, so she thought.
Leila screamed as the bullet made a clean hole through the maid’s forehead and blood splattered all over her. Leila’s heart leaped to her mouth as her hand dropped beside her.
“You...you killed her.” She exclaimed in shock, not being able to use her words.
“No, Leila. You killed her. So, don't you ever threaten me again.” He rose to his full height. “Cecelia, have Dragon bury her, while you clean up this mess.”
Chapter Ten
A Wicked Seduction
“Si,signore.” Cecelia left the office, her barefoot leaving a set of bloodied footprints on the floor
Makros moved from his desk, walked to the door, and banged it shut. Then he turned to face Leila. “Have you lost your mind?”
The gun suddenly felt too heavy in her hands. Leila, who smelled like vanilla and wore heels that could poke holes into men’s skulls, felt too tired to hold a gun. It sounded normal to an average person, but in her world, it was the most embarrassing thing that could happen.
If anyone had told her to her face that she’d be too weary to wield a gun; she would have blown bubblegum in their face.
“You should die,” she said in a low voice.
“That’s clearly what you wish, but not today, Wifey. Today, we will party.” He smiled smugly. His face, god help her, was the most charming thing she'd ever laid eyes on.
“What are you doing?” she asked, raising her blood-red eyes to him. “You...you just...just killed an innocent maid and...and–”
“What am I doing? Can you explain what you mean? Why are you suddenly so calm and composed? No hitting me. No swearing. What is this? Oh, haven't you noticed, Wifey? I’m doing the exact opposite of your expectations.”
“Don't call me Wifey, Sunshine or darling,” she hissed.
“But you are mine. My darling wife.” His voice was rich with mockery.
She replied with a bitter laugh. “Your wife? Even if I entertained that notion for a second, just for a second, you were being sucked dry by another woman. Is that how you italian’s do marriage over here?”
“Well, if I asked you to suck my dick, would you?” He threw the question casually at her.
“I would agree just to bite it off.”
He threw his head back and laughed heartily. She hated how rich his laughter sounded. How, instead of grating her ears, it tickled them. He was the most complex man she had ever had to deal with, and it was only beginning to dawn on her that life with him until she got the opportunity to kill him would not be easy.
“You see what I mean? A man needs to fuck. You know it too. Why are you acting like you're conservative when you’re American?”
She unexpectedly flung his gun at him, but his hand reflexively reached out to catch it.
The moment it touched his hand, he pointed it at her. “Do you always do everything your mind tells you to do?”
“You just insinuated that only men need to make love. It was trifling to my ears, and I needed you to stop talking.” She was slowly gaining her confidence back.
“I said fuck. What is it, love? Too shy to say the word? If you like to do it, it shouldn't be hard to say.” He was teasing her.
“No, I'm not doing this with you. I want to go to my room.”
