Grayson

Nine months later

Jessie was bent over my desk, my hand on her back between her shoulders holding her in place as I fucked her from behind. This wasn’t the first time; it wouldn’t be the last, either.

I took every opportunity to fuck her anywhere I could—all over the house, the barn, anywhere on the ranch I could get her alone.

It’d taken six months after we’d found David—I refused to call him my uncle—trampled to death in Thunder’s stall before I could fully walk on my own without help. I still occasionally used a cane for stability, but usually only in the evening after a long day.

“Grayson, please make me come.”

I leaned over her, my chest meeting her back. “I love hearing you beg for my cock,” I whispered.

“I’m begging for my orgasm, asshole.”

I threw my head back and laughed. Jessie frequently called me an asshole when she was irritated. I swear it was her favorite fucking word. I didn’t mind, though, but I wouldn’t tell her that.

“Fucking brat.” Standing at my full height, I spanked her ass until it was a pretty shade of pink to match her pretty pink pussy that I was pounding into. I reached under her and flicked her clit. “Come, Jessie,” I growled.

She would never admit it, but she loved when I growled at her; it set her off every damn time, and today was no different. I felt her walls flutter and clamp down as she shouted my name, and I came right after her, filling her up with my cum.

She was on the pill for the time being. I told her she had a year to get settled before I put a baby in her. She liked to remind me that she didn’t have a ring on her finger.

That would change today.

“Come on, we need to go,” I said as we dressed.

“Where?” She stopped midway through buttoning her shirt. My eyes focused on the swell of her breasts. “Grayson!”

I shook my head and grinned. “Sorry, baby, they’re a bit distracting. Hurry up and put them away,” I said as I pulled on my boots and stood.

It felt so fucking good to stand on my own two feet. It wasn’t easy. The rigorous physical therapy Jessie put me through was excruciating, and more times than not, I wanted to quit and give in.

She wouldn’t let me though. She knew I wanted to walk again, and, more importantly, she knew I would walk again. I couldn’t have done it without her. Life without Jessica Montoya wasn’t worth living.

She talked to her family regularly, and we’d even made plans to visit Mexico. Was it easy having my girlfriend’s family running the cartel? No, but they stepped up for our town when we needed them. For that, I would always be grateful.

“You still haven’t told me where we’re going.” She pouted.

“It’s a surprise.” I kissed her nose and pulled her along outside, where I opened the truck door and helped her climb in. “I need you to do something for me.”

“What?”

“Wear this?” I handed her a blindfold.

“What? No way!”

“Please? For me?”

She relented with a heavy sigh. There was very little she wasn’t willing to do for me.

Over the last nine months, I had been helping her with her fears.

She was now riding with me every day. She picked out her own horse and helped me train her.

And every morning she accompanied me when I did my rounds on the ranch.

There was still one thing she hadn’t done .

And today was the day!

The drive was long, and I’d like to say she was a trooper, but she grumbled and complained the whole way. I just smiled and reminded her it was a surprise and she had to deal with it.

When I parked at the top of Scottsbluff, I told her to stay put, and I rushed around to open her door. I held her hand as she stepped out.

“Can I look yet?”

“No, be patient.”

“When did I ever give you the impression that I was a patient person?”

I looked over at Ellie, who stood to the side with her husband Ryder, and their kids, next to Pops, my brothers and Addie, and winked. Ellie laughed silently and shook her head.

I led Jessie over to the edge so she faced the view. I stood behind her and wrapped my arms around her. With my chin resting on her shoulder, I whispered, “Take it off.”

Her gasp was so loud, and her body trembled.

“It’s so beautiful.” Her voice shook, and when I looked at her face, her eyes welled up with tears. “Thank you,” she whispered.

“Marry me.” It wasn’t a question; I wouldn’t take the chance of her saying no. I let her go and got down on one knee with a small black velvet box in my hand. She turned, and her hands went to her mouth. Her eyes ping-ponged between me and the ring.

“Grayson.”

“Say yes, Jessie. Please fucking say yes.”

“Yes!”

I placed the ring on her finger, and Jessie’s mouth hung open when she noticed the shouting and clapping. Addie and Ellie threw their arms around Jessie, screaming, while my brothers slapped me on the back, congratulating me.

I pulled Jessie away and into my arms. “I love you, Jessica Montoya.”

She looked up at me and smiled. “I love you, Grayson Powell.”
