CHAPTER 29

L aw knew he was playing the General’s game. He’d been searching for two and a half hours. Two and a half fucking hours. And he still had no clue where they’d put her.

He’d figured out by the third location, they were using places where Sabre had bested the Society. Actually, bested the General.

But they’d been to all those places now. He had no idea where to look. The phones hadn’t moved in thirty minutes.

Was that it? Was the General finished playing?

Rage, unlike anything he’d ever known, flashed over his entire body. His entire soul, if he had one. If he lost her, he would make the Society pay.

He’d toss a match on everything they had and watch it burn. Nothing would matter without Lovelyn.

He’d never felt so helpless in his life. He’d pulled out all the stops. Used every contact, burned every bridge.

And it had gotten him nothing. He felt like a lit fuse waiting to explode. Everything inside him urged him to act, to win the fight. Instead, he was waiting for a miracle.

Zane sat a few feet away from him. The kid looked ravaged.

Gage clapped a hand on Law’s shoulder. “Hold on, brother. Today is not our day to lose. Something will happen and we’ll find your girl.

Law wanted to believe that was true.

His phone dinged with a notification. Who the fuck would be texting him now? Everyone he knew, his brothers, his friends, everyone was here with him. He almost ignored it but decided at the last minute to see who it was.

Another unknown number.

He opened the text and read. And the world began turning again.

She’s in a shallow grave at the main gate to your land. Hurry ~Ravage.
