Page 65 of Kings of Lust
After a few minutes in the cold of the night, I was feeling a little better, but going back inside so fast didn’t seem such a good idea at the time. Not that I got the chance to return to the room, as Ferris made his way to the balcony to ensure that I was all right.
‘You’re cold,’ he placed his jacket on my shoulders.
‘I’m ok. Just needed to get out of there for a second.’
‘Here. I refilled your glass. You really need a drink.’
‘I’m starting to believe I do,’ I smiled, taking the glass from his hand and bringing it to my lips.
‘You don’t have to worry about the party. I know Cole. He has things under control, even if it doesn’t always look like it.’
‘Oh, I’m not worried about Cole not having things under control. More like the opposite,’ I took another sip, realizing that a whole weekend with a still pissed-off Cole was ahead.
‘You’re the one who wanted to save the world.’
‘Not the world, but at least the city.’
‘The city isn’t worth saving, but have it your way,’ he tilted his glass to clink against mine: ‘To saving the city!’
The extra sip didn’t seem to agree with me, raising a light state of dizziness that made me put my glass down.
‘Is everything ok?’ Ferris wrapped an arm around me for support as I drew my own arms around his neck.
Was it the magic of the night, or the alcohol vapors that made me crash against his lips?
Not entirely sure, but that feral magnetism between us was leaving no room for regrets. Our tongues were pulsing with the beat of desire, for minutes, maybe hours as the notion of time was becoming blurred, shadowing all that surrounded us.
It felt surreal as if I was living in another dimension, watching everything from outside my body.
‘I want you,’ that was a statement Icouldhear escaping his lips. ‘This night is so beautiful that I can’t even feel the cold. Let’s go to my room. I want to have you on the balcony.’
That should’ve sounded so dangerously wrong, but in those seconds being with him was all that I could think about. Probably the alcohol was to blame, but my head nodded in a yes, eagerly waiting for his lips to return to mine. Nothing seemed to matter anymore as long as I got to feel the sensual warmth of his skin.
Not entirely sure when we left the living room balcony to go to his room, but somewhere between the lobby and the staircase, Brax stopped us.
He was far from happy with our escapade, but I didn’t understand exactly why. He just asked Ferris to join him in an empty room as I had to wait in the lobby.
It was pretty hard waiting at that hour since my feet didn’t seem to stay put. At least not without me getting a sensation I would fall straight on my face. Luckily, I found a comforter to support me in time of need, but just as I found my position, Brax’s arms formed an anchor for my body.
‘Bea.... Bea, look at me.’
Much easier said than done since I was looking but not really seeing anything.
‘Fucking look at me,’ he roared like the lion he was, though without much success.
At least not the one he was expecting, because his voicedidhave a result on me, ‘You’re so fucking hot when you groan like that.’ Yep, that was me speaking, as I felt his tone tingling a very aroused part of me.
‘Come,’ he started walking.
‘Where are we going?’ I asked, trying to get a few neurons to work.
‘To my room.’
I had to admit, at that point it didn’t sound bad at all, but wasn’t I with Ferris just a few moments before!? ‘I don’t understand.’
‘There’s nothing to understand. You’re going to bed.’
Brax... bed... All the information I needed to get my panties dampened.
