“Free use starts tonight, baby,” he announces over his shoulder. “I’ve got two days off and you’re in for a hell of a time.”
Oh, fuck me.
Chapter Thirty-Five
Atlas
I get two days alone with my beautiful wife before it’s back to reality. I don’t plan to waste a fucking second of it either.
Waking up next to the love of my life isn’t something I ever imagined for myself. But as I open my eyes and take in Loxley’s red-golden hair sprawled over my chest, her face slack with a deep sleep, I realize I’ve made it. I’m beyond grateful for this and every day with her is all I’ve ever dreamed of.
I don’t know what I did in a previous life to be so deserving of her love, but I want to strive to keep it for the rest of our lives. I lost her once and I never plan to make that same mistake again.
I run my fingers through her soft strands, soaking her in before her eyes open. Here, at this moment, everything is right in the world. Loxley on my chest, in the house I built for her, and my ring on her finger.
Perfect.
She groans gently, turning her face into my chest before lifting a hand to rub the sleep from her eyes. “Watching me sleep is a little creepy.”
I snort. “I’ve done far creepier, remember?”
She peers up at me, locks of shiny hair falling into her eyes. “Can’t forget that you bugged my apartment.”
“That was for your safety,” I defend. At her raised brow, I add, “And because I love watching you.”
She rolls her eyes, but I see her lips twitch as she scootstoward her end table and grabs her phone. She frowns at the screen before turning it off and tossing it aside.
“What’s wrong?” I ask, pulling her back to me so I can hold her a little longer.
She sighs, resting her head on my shoulder before leaning forward and giving me a kiss. “Addie hasn’t texted me since yesterday. Has Rowan said anything to you?”
I frown and reach over for my device. I have no new messages or any kind of update from my brother. “I’m sure they’re fine. They probably stopped at a hotel last night. It was pretty late in the afternoon when Rowan left.”
She nibbles on her lower lip, nodding. She still seems on edge about Addison not getting back with her, but if I know my brother, Loxley’s friend is in the best hands. Rowan would have called if he had thought there was any danger or if anything happened. He’s extremely predictable and by the books, so I know Addison is safe. If she weren’t, Rowan would have had half the syndicate out on the roads last night.
“They’re fine, baby,” I reassure her. Those deep brown doe eyes find mine and I could stare into them for a lifetime. “I promise. If they aren’t back by lunch, I’ll call Rowan.”
She nods, lifting her hand to her mouth, and I grab her wrist. “Don’t bite your nails. You only do that when something is wrong and nothing is wrong.”
She groans before turning into my shoulder and rolling over to her stomach. “I hate that you know me so well. How am I supposed to spiral with you around?”
I smile. “You don’t. You let me handle it and you don’t worry about it.”
She turns to narrow her eyes at me. “How am I not supposed to worry about my best friend’s safety?”
“You don’t worry about it because she’s fine and you have something else you need to concern yourself with.” I flip her over, yanking her hips up and placing her on her knees.
She gasps, her hands curling into the comforter as she looks over her shoulder at me.
“Keep your face in the pillows like a good girl while I eat breakfast,” I command. My T-shirt she wore to bed has ridden up and is bunched near her shoulders, exposing her pale, freckled back. All that’s left covering her is the black panties over her pussy that I use a thumb to push aside. I get a beautiful view of puffy, pink folds that beg to be tasted. I use both hands to spread her wide and take in the view. My fucking mouth waters for her.
Her hips rock slightly back on my hands, and I know she’s growing impatient. She wants my touch beyond reason now and I plan to give her just what she needs.
I run a finger along her seam, collecting the glistening arousal that’s coating her petals. She moans sleepily, her hips jerking back.
I slap her ass, watching the way it jiggles and reveling in her little scream. Her right cheek turned a heated red and I groan in delight.
“Stop moving,” I command playfully. “Or I’ll stretch your ass out next.”
