“Is it enough for me to be…yours? What do you expect out of me? Marriage? Children? For me to move in here? How is the woman of a club president supposed to be? Am I expected to be here all the time? Because you know that is not me.”
She blinked and sucked in a slow breath of air.
I could tell she came here with a lot floating around in her head, and I hadn’t been wrong about that.
“Haven’t you figured it out by now, I don’t expect anything of you,” I told her and then placed a light kiss on her forehead. “Yeah, most of the time, the old ladies do a lot of shit around here. Ain’t a requirement and I dare you to find a man down there that would tellyouthatyougotta do shit.”
She gave me a rare smile at that.
Damn, I loved seeing it.
“The old ladies don’t do it because it’s expected of them. They do it because we’re a family. And I get that you might have a hard time understanding this, but family takes care of one another.” I paused to let my words sink in. “We look out for one another. Just like you look out for your girls and they do their best to take care of you when they can.”
Her head tilted to the side as she thought about it. Petra was a lot like me, she took on the world and didn’t expect people to help her with the burden, even when she was doing it mostly for them. But that was the thing, good people helped to lift you up when you watched their back.
“You need to meet my girls,” she said and her eyes were unfocused as they stared at my shoulder. It was clear she was trying to figure out what would be normal in this type of situation. Or maybe it finally sunk into that head of hers, that I wasn’t goin’ anywhere, and she was thinking of how she could let me into her life a little more.
“I need to meet your girls. As well as those brick walls that live in the shadows of your place,” I softly agreed with her. I had no clue how many bodyguards she had, but I knew there were many. I also had an idea that she cared about them just as much as she cared about anyone under her roof.
“I should get to know your… boys.”
I chuckled.
“My brothers, yes, and their loves too.”
“And you love me and want me,” she said, dragging her eyes to look at mine, finally.
“Yes, Pet. Want you for a long time to come.”
“I don’t want children,” she pretty much blurted out.
“That’s okay.” I chuckled. It wasn’t a surprise to me that she didn’t want children. That one was pretty obvious. “I got enough kids runnin’ around here that I get my fill on.”
“Are you sure that’s enough?”
“I am. Have a feeling some of them will carry on this club and that is what matters to me.”
“And marriage?”
I shrugged.
“Don’t need it as long as I hear you say you’re mine,” I told her with pure honesty in my tone. “Especially if you’re sayin’ it while I’m buried deep inside that sweet pussy.”
Her back stiffened and I tipped my lips up at her in a cocky smirk. She wasn’t mad. She was trying to suppress that shiver that was shaking her spine. Yeah, I knew my woman well.
“Now,” I said as my hand gripped the base of her ponytail and pulled back until her neck stretched tight. “We aren’t gonna go over that shit again. Hear me? You’re mine. I’m not takin’ it back and you are never going to doubt it again. Yeah?”
She tried to nod and I shook my head.
“Let me hear the words, Pet.”
“Yes, I understand.”
“You will never doubt again.” I raised a brow letting her know I wanted her to repeat my words.
“I will never doubt again.” The words fell from her lips almost like a sigh.
My mouth kicked up in a half smile.
