The closet Xander referred to was an entire room, but Leo wasn't surprised by the size.

He had a similar dressing room at home. It was the clothing that had him sighing.

The fabric was simply finer there—the silk silkier and the velvet more plush.

Everything was embellished. From Xander's thin undershorts to his belts, everything had embroidery, embossing, or was embedded with jewels.

Again, Leo had some beautiful clothing, but the fancy stuff of his realm couldn't compete with fairy craftsmanship.

Leo chose the simplest outfit he could find, knowing it might get destroyed later.

That thought sent a shiver of fear through him, but then Xander came in.

Naked. The fear transformed into determination.

If he failed the challenge, so be it. At least he would have tried.

Going back to his realm without doing everything within his power to be with Xander wasn't an option.

“I thought you'd choose something prettier.” Xander ran a finger over the neckline of the deep green tunic Leo wore, tracing the line of gold leaves.

“I don't want to damage your clothing.”

“How would you . . . oh.” Xander suddenly pulled Leo into a hug, uncaring about his nudity. “Let's not think about that now. We have the entire day to spend together.”

Leo stepped back. “Then get dressed, Your Highness. I'm looking forward to seeing your world. ”

Xander grinned and hurried to a rack of clothes.

Smiling to himself, Leo watched him flounder under all the choices.

He let Xander mutter to himself a minute before he went over and chose for him—a deep maroon tunic with gold wings embroidered across the back shoulders, black leather trousers, a thick belt studded with rubies, and black boots.

The result was stunning. Xander's pale hair shone against the dark colors, and his eyes seemed to glow.

“You are the most handsome man I've ever seen,” Leo whispered.

“You're biased. There are many more handsome men than I. Especially here. You'll see.”

“None will come close to your beauty.” Leo brushed a kiss over Xander's lips. “Not in my eyes.”

Xander sighed and pulled him into a hug. “I love you, Leovar.”

“I love you, too. And don't worry about tonight. I can't fail. Not with destiny on my side.”

Xander smiled, but Leo thought it looked strained.

Taking his hand, Leo said, “Come on. I'm starving.”

“Then I will feed you, my invading Prince.”
