I nod. "I'll be fine. I'll see you inside?"

"Yes." He leans in and kisses my cheek.

I wait a couple of moments to make sure that everyone has gone before approaching Bella where she's still standing watching the flames. "That was beautiful."

"It was awful," she responds, not taking her eyes off the pyre. The orange light from the fire flickers over her face, making the tears glisten and seem a lot more menacing than they were before.

"I'm sorry," I say.

"Don't be. You didn't do this. It was Bastian, and we all know it."

I don't respond, mostly because there's nothing that can be said. It was Bastian who caused this, and we do all know that it was him.

"He's going to pay for it," Bella says, turning to me. "I am going to make him pay."

I swallow hard. "How?"

She doesn't answer, merely stares into the flames. There's no doubt she means every word and that she's even more dangerous than Lord Fallmartin.

The problem is that I don't even know if I want to stop her.
