I slide my tongue up and down her slit, licking up every last drop of our combined fluids. She grabs onto my hair as she arches her back and moans out, “More. I’m so on edge. Give me more. I need it. I need you.”

I think it’s the first time she’s ever uttered the words that she needs me. It lights me on fire as I run a finger down her folds and plunge it into her.

“You’re dripping for me, baby. Does sucking my dick make you wet? Or is it me fucking your tits? Or is it when you lick my come off your nipples?”

Her eyes roll back in her head. She’s so close already.

I latch my lips to her clit and suck hard, all while curling my finger inside her, stroking her inner walls in the places I know drive her crazy.

It’s mere seconds before she detonates into a body-shaking orgasm. She screams so loud, I wonder if Daylen can hear it a few miles away on his ride home.

When she begins to calm down, I crawl up her body and thrust directly inside her hard and to the hilt. She yells out as another orgasm immediately wrings from her body. She has no control of the shaking going on as she convulses through the orgasm and a long series of aftershocks.

She thrashes around. Her nails scrape all over my body. She’s completely lost in the pleasure.

I watch her slack-jawed because I’ve never seen anything so erotic and sexy in my life. She’s always been responsive to me, but she’s in a different stratosphere right now, and I have the best seat in the house to watch it happen.

Tears leak from her eyes, not in sadness, but in pleasure and joy. It’s beautiful. She’s beautiful. I’m so in love with her.

The fog begins to lift, and I see her pupils return to their normal size. I still haven’t moved inside her.

Her fingers thread through my hair, and her eyes meet mine. They’re full of so much emotion. I have no doubt mine mirror hers. “I love you too, Vance McCaffrey. It’s always been you. It will only ever be you.” She brushes her lips over mine. “Make love to me.”

My heart swells to a size I didn’t know possible. It’s like nothing and no one else in this world matters anymore other than the woman under me. The woman I want to spend the rest of my life with.

I’m suddenly very aware of our surroundings. We’re on the floor of my foyer, ten feet from the front door. My shirt is open, but I’m still wearing it. She’s in boots but has nothing else on her body. It’s not the right scene for this. She deserves more. I deserve more. We deserve more.

I wrap her legs around me and stand, carrying her to my bedroom, losing my shirt along the way.

Falling onto the bed, I start to pull out so I can stand, but she wraps her legs around me tightly. “No. Don’t pull out. It feels too good. I don’t want to lose the connection of our bodies.”

“I was going to remove your boots for you.”

She gives me a playful smile. “You don’t like them anymore?”

I thrust a little deeper, and she lets out a moan. “Does it feel like I don’t like your boots?”

She bites her lower lip as she shakes her head. Threading her fingers through my hair again, she gives it a hard tug and tightens her legs around me. “Leave them. Make me see stars, QB1.”

We lay in bed in the aftermath of the most meaningful sex of my life. We were so in sync. I didn’t know where I ended and she began. It felt like my heart had the orgasm right along with the rest of my body. Both our eyes were full of tears as words of love and forever were whispered.

We’re both on our backs, a little out of breath and full of every emotion. I ask, “Can I talk now?”

She giggles as she nuzzles into me and kisses my shoulder. “I like you better when you just shut up and look pretty, but I suppose you can speak.”

I reach over and pinch her nipple. She squeals as she laughs at her own joke.

Turning to my side and cupping her face, I say the words I’ve been wanting to say to her.

“When two people are meant to be together, it doesn’t matter how long it takes or how insurmountable the obstacles seem.

Fate will always bring them together. I guess it was meant to take this long for us to get here, but we’re finally here.

There’s nothing standing in our way anymore.

I love you, Sullivan Aisling. I’ve been trying to tell you that for months.

You didn’t want to hear it. Yes, we have a shared past, but it only makes our bond stronger.

Deeper. I wholeheartedly believe if Finn were here now, he’d be happy about this.

” I crack a small smile. “He’d probably kick me in the balls first for some of the things I do to you, but then he’d be happy.

Because no one could possibly love any woman as much as I love you.

Finn, being the protective big brother he was, would want you to be with a man who feels about you the way I do.

If you’ll let me, I promise to love you hard and furious for the rest of our lives. I want our forever to start now.”

She swallows and fights back the tears pooling in her eyes. Running her fingertips over my scruff, she says, “That was beautiful.”

“I saw it in a fortune cookie once.”

She smiles.

My face turns more serious. “I meant every word.”

She nods. “I know you did.”

I continue, “I’ve been thinking about our treehouse talk of having a shared trauma. We both allow all the happy moments in our lives to have a tinge of sadness because we feel guilty that we get to be happy while he doesn’t. ”

She tearfully nods. “It’s true.”

“We need to stop that. He wouldn’t want that for either of us. We deserve to be happy, and I want us to be happy together.”

Her blue eyes meet mine. “I want that too.” She bites her lower lip nervously. “I have a proposal for you.”

I smirk. “A top-secret proposal?”

Mischief finds her eyes. “Sort of. I’m concerned about the public attention our relationship would draw.”

I feel myself deflating. Not this again. “Who cares?”

“I do,” she says, “but not for the reasons you think. I want you to focus on your season. I don’t want our relationship to be the reason you and your team are distracted.

Most of our friends know. I don’t care about them knowing, but I want to keep it out of the public eye until you win the Super Bowl.

After that, we can freely be together however you want. ”

The corner of my mouth raises in amusement. “What if I don’t win?”

She shrugs. “Then find yourself a new girl. I’m only in this for the glory.”

I pinch her nipple again, and she shrieks.

I sigh. “I’m sick of being a secret. I’m sick of all the secrets.” Even though I still have one. “I don’t want any more lies in my life. I want the world to know you’re mine. You were always mine, and you’ll always be mine.”

She turns to face me. “I’ve put my trust in you.

Now I need you to put your trust in me. You lied to me because you knew it was best for me and my career, and you were right.

This is what I know is best for you . It’s my time to protect you.

I need you to trust that I’m looking out for you just like you did for me.

We’re not telling the world quite yet. Can you trust me to look out for you like you do for everyone else in your life? ”

I wordlessly nod even though I hate that she won’t love me publicly. I’m completely under her spell. She could probably ask me anything, and I’d say yes .

In a jovial tone, I ask, “What if I ask you to marry me the second my season is over?”

Her face turns serious as she whispers, “I’ll say yes.”

“You will?”

She nods as the corners of her mouth turn up. “But only if you win the Super Bowl, so you better get to work.”

SULLEY

I wake to a warm, long, wet, smelly tongue licking across my face. What the hell?

I blink my eyes open and see Daylen’s giant dog, BJ, standing over me as she bends and licks my face again.

Then I hear Daylen’s loud voice from downstairs, “Did you get naked when you stepped in the door, McCaffrey? If you keep masturbating, you’ll go blind.” There’s a loud crashing noise, and then he yells, “Oh no, I can’t see anything.” And then he starts laughing hysterically at his own joke.

I hear his heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. It sounds like an elephant trampling through the house.

Even though I’m shielded by blankets, I’m very obviously naked. I’d like to run to the bathroom, out of sight, but I have over a hundred pounds of slobbering dog on top of me, pinning me to the bed.

Daylen’s voice is getting closer. “I hope you didn’t spend all night jerking off to her pic…

oh, hello, Sullivan O’Shea.” A huge smile finds his goofy face.

“How lovely to see you here…naked…in Vance’s bed.

Does he cuddle with you? Because he won’t cuddle with me when we share a room on road trips.

He knows how much I like to be the little spoon. ”

I giggle, and Vance shoves the dog. “I can’t believe you brought this menace to my house.”

Daylen gasps. “She wanted to sing good morning to Uncle Vance. She thought she needed to cheer you up, but apparently, Sulley has beaten her to it. Literally.”

I let out a laugh. “Are you telling me your dog can sing?”

Vance moans. “Oh god, don’t get Simon and Garfunkel going.”

I hear Daylen chuckle before he yells, “ TLC !”

BJ starts singing. She’s belting out an unknown tune like she owns the joint, all from the end of Vance’s bed.

And then Daylen joins her. He holds out his arms, and she jumps off the bed and onto her hind legs.

With her paws in his hands, they dance together as though they’ve done it a thousand times before.

I look at Vance in a bit of shock, and he shakes his head. “Don’t get me started on the insanity of their relationship.”

Daylen rolls his eyes. “I didn’t know Sulley was here. You’re lucky BJ likes you, Sullivan . She hates all women. All of them…except my sister.”

“Why?” I ask.

“Because she thinks they’re her competition for my love and affection.” He then rubs behind her ear, and in a weird baby voice says, “But no one could ever pull me away from my beautiful, perfect baby girl.”

Vance snorts in annoyance, and Daylen looks at me. “I honestly can’t bring women to my house. She gets bizarrely territorial.” He mumbles, “That and I don’t want them to know where I live.”

Vance sits up in bed and scowls at Daylen. “You and your mutt need to leave. Now.”

Daylen covers BJ’s ears. “Stop calling her a mutt. She gets very upset when Uncle Vance is mean to her.”

I’m wildly amused by this conversation until I get a notification on my phone that someone is at my front door. It’s not the doorbell; it’s the motion sensor. I had it installed when Reagan grew concerned for my safety and Keith came into the picture.

Vance notices the screen. “Is that a delivery? ”

Examining it carefully, I answer, “I think it’s flowers.” I zoom in on the screen and look up at him again with a smile. “Chocolate Cosmos.”

His eyes widen. “Not from me.”

I quickly zoom in further and realize exactly who is delivering flowers to my house.
