EPILOGUE

As soon as he closed the door behind them, he removed his coat and threw it on their sitting room sofa.

Their suite of rooms consisted of a sitting room, a water closet, two changing rooms, and two bed chambers.

They spent what little free time they had snuggled together in their sitting room, reading poetry to each other and talking. By mutual unspoken agreement, they spent most nights in Georgiana’s bed, though Robert was free to transfer to his own bed if he developed the urge to sleep alone. That rarely happened.

The Emberford Estates was a working farm and there was always much to do, but after the day was done, this was their little retreat from the world, and they loved it.

Georgiana sat on the sofa with a sigh and began to take off her shoes and stockings. She had already dismissed Cecile for the evening.

Robert helped her unlace her stays. Her lady’s maid rarely waited up for her anymore unless the gown she was wearing was particularly complicated or Robert was away.

Otherwise, he took much delight in delicately unlacing her stays, undoing her bodice, and setting her breasts free. He was fascinated at how they changed in size and sensitivity depending on the time of the month. Every day he undressed her was like a gift to him.

After divesting himself of his boots and stockings, he sat down beside her and began to unlace her gown.

“What a great party,” he murmured. “You and Grandmother outdid yourselves.”

“Thank you, dearest. I think the guests enjoyed themselves. Even the serving girls had their own little party in the summer kitchen with all the visiting servants. Cecile told me about it when she dressed me.”

“Yes. Food was taken to the village as well for the crofters to enjoy. Very thoughtful of you to think of them.”

She shrugged. “It was a joyous occasion. Everyone should be able to partake.”

“And that is why my tenants love you so much. Not more than I do, of course.”

Georgiana giggled. “To hear you tell it nobody loves me as much as you do.”

“Only because it is true.”

He slipped the dress off her shoulders, massaging her back where the stays had dug into her flesh. She groaned with relief, dropping her head as she enjoyed his ministrations.

“That feels very good,” she sighed.

“Mmm,” he replied by massaging her with increased vigor. He bent forward, kissing a line down her backbone. “Are you very tired?” he asked gently.

She snorted. “Not that tired.” Turning around, she pressed her lips to his. “Here, help me with the rest of my clothes.”

Georgiana leaned forward to whisper in Robert’s ear.

“Claspt in the arms of her love, In vain, alas! For life I strove; My flutt’ring spirits, wrapt in fire,” she whispered in his ear, “By love’s mysterious art, Borne on the wings of fierce desire, Flew from my flaming heart.”

“Mmm,” Hehe nodded, shivering slightly when her breath brushed his skin, “who wrote that?”

“A man named Thomas Otway, an acquaintance of Lord Rochester’s. He died of syphilis from the court of King Charles II,” she said as she straddled him, her mouth against his ear.

Robert wrapped his fingers around her ribcage, just below her breasts. She was dressed only in a thin shift and could feel the warmth emanating from each of his fingers.

“You know an awful lot about him,” he said.

She straightened up so she could look him in the eye. “Yes, because I am an avid reader of his poems.”

He stared back, seemingly mesmerized, although his hands did not move from her sides. “Lord Rochester? Or Thomas Otway?”

“Well…Lord Rochester and Thomas Otway both write about ‘dying’ as a metaphor for…”

“Orgasm.”

“Indeed.”

“Well, the French do call it le petite morte .”

“A most apt description, as I do feel resurrected afterwards.”

He leaned in and kissed her neck, just beneath her jaw. “ Every time?” he purred. She could feel his mouth moving against her skin, his tongue leaving little wet patches.

She gave a long sigh. “Yes, every time.”

He picked her up, wrapped her legs around his waist, and carried her to bed.

“Tell me more of that poem,” he whispered as he laid her down.

“It is called The Enjoyment.”

“How appropriate,” he said against the skin of her hip as he gently pushed her shift out of the way.

“Thus lying in a trance for dead, her swelling breasts bore up my head,” she whispered.

“Oh, has she already climaxed?” he asked, mouthing her thigh.

“I suppose since I feel as if my breasts become fuller too on each occasion.” She reached out a finger to flick at her own nipple, closing her eyes as she felt his tongue trace patterns on her inner thigh. She held her breath.

“Do not stop. Keep reciting,” he said as his hands pulled apart her thighs.

“When waking from a pleasing dream,” she said shakily as he began to nip and suck at her inner thigh, “I saw her killing eyes.”

She interrupted her recital with a deep moan.

“Go on,” he said.

“W-which did in fiery glances seem to say, Now Coelia dies!” The last word ended in an inadvertent scream as his tongue poked at her swollen sensitive nub.

He licked and sucked, drawing the nub into his mouth and sucking at her juices. She squirmed, feeling as if her flesh was both itchy and too sensitive, but also burning and empty.

He lifted his head, and his gaze met hers. “Is that the end of the poem?” he asked before returning his attention to his work.

She moaned and gasped, “Fainting, she press’d me in her arms, and trembling lay, dissolv’d in ch-ch-charms.”

Panting loudly, her bosom heaving, Georgiana arched her hips towards his face. He responded by pinning her hips to the bed with his strong hands, but she had to move.

The sensation of his hungry mouth upon her was too titillating to keep still.

“When, with a shiv’ring voice, she cried, Must I alone, then, die?”

He chuckled, his hot breath brushing the sensitive inner folds of her canal, arousing her further. “Are you dying?”

“Hush, you want to hear the poem or not?”

His answer was to nip her inner thigh and thrust his tongue deep in her warm wetness with a satisfied groan. Her own groan joined his and she pulled at his hair.

“No, no, I languishing replied, I’ll bear thee company.”

He reached between his legs and clutched his hardened manhood. “Indeed, I shall,” he murmured hotly, then licked her mound from bottom to top. She widened her legs, whimpering and pleading.

“I feel so empty. Fill me.”

“Is that in the poem?”

“No, but this is—Melting our souls thus into one, swift joys our wishes did out-run: then launch’d in rolling seas of bliss.”

He sat up, watching her as she murmured the words then pushed his thick, long rod into her glistening abyss. Georgiana gasped with pleasure as he entered her. She could feel each hard vein rise on his shaft and rub along the sides of her canal. She spasmed involuntarily, gripping vice-like on his member as he stroked her from the inside.

“Yes, rolling seas of bliss is exactly what I intend to give you,” he whispered as he thrust into her as deeply as he could. She moaned, throwing her head back and gripping his neck.

“Is that the end of the poem?” he asked between thrusts.

She shook her head from side to side, sweat trickling down her neck, her breasts bouncing from his efforts.

“We bid the world adieu.” She reached for him, pulling him down for a kiss. “Swearing, by ev’ry charming kiss, to be forever true,” she finished, looking him in the eye as he twisted and thrust, seemingly wanting to reach every bit of her insides.

“Kiss me forever my love.” He groaned as he widened her legs and began to thrust with renewed fervor.

She closed her eyes and gave herself over to the feeling of his possession. His body was a weight that anchored her to the earth, and she clung to him, kissing his shoulders and neck, his nipple and his arm, anywhere she could reach as his body dominated hers.

She could feel the rolling sea bearing down on her to overwhelm her with its bliss.

“Oh…my…God!” She surrendered to it, letting it take her away, her body becoming rigid as she soared through the waves of her release, clinging to him with every cell of her being.

“You will truly be the death of me, my darling wife, woman of my heart. Love of my life,” he murmured as his hand raked through her hair, pulling her to him so he could kiss her passionately as he released his essence into her.

Her body contracted around him, milking him for it all, greedily wanting every drop. He shook and shuddered even as she shivered and quaked, bodies lost to repletion and completion, united in ecstasy with no concept of where one began and the other ended.

Georgiana finally collapsed, letting go of him, her arms too weak and boneless to hold on any longer. She closed her eyes, panting hard as he fell on top of her, their bodies still joined.

They lay together as their breathing calmed and the sweat dried on their bodies.

“Am I too heavy?” Robert asked.

“No,” she whispered, running her hand up his back as he braced himself on his elbows.

He eventually rolled off her and curled up at her side, pulling her close to him and folding her in his arms.

“That was the best poem I have ever heard.” He grinned.

She threw back her head and laughed. The room reverberated with their joy.

She decided that she had waited long enough. She had wanted to be sure about it before she told him, but she had not seen her courses for two months now.

“Robert?”

He opened one eye and looked at her. “Yes?”

“I have something to tell you.”

He lifted his head up, supporting it with his palm on a bent elbow. “Go ahead.”

“I am with child.”

“I…thought that you might be.”

“You did?” she said in surprise. “How come?”

“Well, you have not had your courses for more than a month.”

“Two months, actually.”

He smiled. “Yes, well, I did not want to presume.”

She leaned in and kissed him. “Are you happy?”

“Happy? No, my dear; I am ecstatic.”

She stopped smiling. “Are you afraid?”

He gave her a somber look. “I am terrified.”

She nodded. “Me too.”

He took her hand and squeezed it. “Well, whatever comes, we will face it together.”

She nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. “Yes. Together.”

They became lost in each other’s gazes, each imagining their life with their new child.

“I love you, Georgiana. Very much.”

He reached for her, hugging her tightly.

“I love you too, Robert.”

The End?
