“You wouldn’t wake up…” Killian adds, pulling my hair back into a ponytail.
I’m drenched in sweat.
“You were lost in a dream, drifting through shadows and light. I entered your mind and saw… everything,” Adonis says, a deep concern lacing his voice.
Tears spill from my eyes. Adonis reaches over, wiping them away.
Dax wraps his strong arms around me, pulling me tightly against his chest. “Shhh, it’s okay, little dove,” he murmurs, his voice a soothing balm. “We won’t let anything happen to you.”
Fatigue weighs heavily upon me, and my mind spins, heavy with the remnants of the night’s alcohol. I continue to weep into Dax’s comforting embrace, the world around me fading as Killian gently cradles my head, his hands cool against my temples.
With tender, deliberate strokes, he guides me back into the gentle embrace of sleep.
Chapter 35
Adonis
“Ugh, I’m never drinking again! I had the craziest dream…” Dani groans from the bed.
I open my eyes and turn to face Dani. Dax still holds her in his arms.
“That dream… I don’t even know where to start,” she says as she sits up, rubbing her head.
“You don’t need to tell us. Adonis already did,” Killian says.
Octavia is here. I can feel it. Feel her dark magic pulling me to her. Dani’s dream wasn’t just a dream, but a vision. I have to find Octavia before Dani does.
Killian stands up from the bed to stretch. “I don’t care what Suzanna said, but you are not reading that spell. You can’t read it, Dani.”
She pouts, “But,” I cut her off, “No. No ‘buts.’ We won’t let you out of our sight.”
I tap into her head, knowing it will piss her off but I have to hear her.
I have to see Elaine… I need answers. What if my dream wasn’t a dream, but the future…
I realize we can’t control Dani. I don’t want to. She deserves to find the answers she seeks, and I know she won’t listen to any of us. She is going to break the spell. She is going to give up her life for us.
I know of only one way I can fix this mess…
“If you are going to be so persistent to see Elaine, then one of us will go with you.”
Killian chimes in, “I’ll go. We can hide in our shadows, but you aren’t going alone.”
“Me too,” Dax says.
I nod at them both.
“Let’s talk about a plan later… this is going to spoil our day,” Dax says and we all nod in agreement.
“If I wasn’t so hungover, I’d continue this. But I can’t think straight right now,” Dani complains as she rubs her head.
I stand up and get dressed while Killian heals Dani from her hangover. She makes the most beautiful sounds as her body relaxes from his touch.
I smile.
Dani is nothing short of perfection; her presence lights up the room with a radiant glow that captivates everyone around her. Her perfect body... every curve demands attention, demands to be touched. Her mesmerizing green eyes shimmer with tears whenever she laughs too hard, captivating anyone lucky enough to witness it. The way her flawless auburn hair cascades softly over her perfect tits is utterly hypnotizing. And her lips—oh, those luscious lips—so inviting and warm, they beckon me like a siren’s song. I could easily lose myself in the sweet embrace of her kiss for an eternity. I would move mountains, cross oceans—risk it all—to have her by my side forever. She is my mate, my forever, the light of my life, and I will do anything to shield her from harm. I feel an irresistible pull toward Dani, like the sea to the shore.
“Hello, earth to Adonis?” Dani says, waving her hands in front of my eyes.
