Page 139 of He Should Be Mine
Dario, my Dario. This is my Dario. The man who is my entire world. How could I have ever doubted him? Okay, the shock of witnessing your first ever murder, just inches away from you, is a lot to deal with. But really, I’ve alwaysknown exactly who Dario is. Just like he has always known who I am.
And besides, what’s a little murder between soul mates?
“Get off your bad knee, you idiot!” I burble between sobs.
“Is that a yes?” he asks hesitantly, with concern swirling through his whisky-colored eyes.
Oh lord, this man is unbelievable! He is going to drive me insane, I can just tell. Life with him is going to be infuriating, and wonderful.
“Yes! It is bloody well a yes!” I yell at him, because frankly he deserves it.
His face lights up with so much joy it almost hurts to look at it. It’s blinding and dazzling and it is going to make me pass out in a swoon.
“Get off your fucking knee and kiss me!” I demand.
He grins as he climbs to his feet.
“As you wish, Mio Molly.”
Chapter thirty-eight
Dario
The soft, quiet knock on the door sets my heart racing. I’m not sure I am ready, but that’s not something more time is going to solve.
I get up from the sofa, leave Molly’s side, and open the door.
Dante and Nicolo step into the apartment. Their eyes go straight to Riccardo’s blanket covered body, clearly visible from the hallway. Dante’s dark gaze tracks up to the bin bags taped to the wall.
He quirks an eyebrow at me, but I don’t know what to say to his silent question. How do I explain that I needed to cover up the blood and brain splatter so it didn’t upset Molly?
I can’t find the words, so instead I silently lead my men down the hallway and into the living area. The sofa comes into view, and so does Molly.
He is sitting on the sofa. Blue eyes still a little too wide. His blond hair is gleaming, falling loose in pretty waves to just past his jaw. His little black dress looks completely unharmed, but a faint dusting of blood can be seen on hispale arms. I managed to disguise wiping his face clean as catching his tears.
I don’t think his lips look puffy or swollen from my kisses. I did manage to control myself and stop a while ago.
He is beautiful. Dazzling. Bright. And it is completely and utterly unmistakable what he is. It’s undeniable. He is a young, pretty gay boy who clearly belongs to someone.
“Dante, Nicolo, this is Molly,” I rumble.
Molly smiles. A big, warm, friendly smile. “Nice to meet you.” Charming. Kind. Sweet and lovely.
Nicolo stares at Molly. “You are Rick’s… boy?”
“Was!” I growl in warning. “He is mine now.”
I inhale sharply, as if trying to pull the words back into my lungs. But actually, I don’t regret them at all. I didn’t mean to say it, but damn, it felt good. Really fucking good.
A laugh echoes around the apartment. Deep. Unnerving. It is Dante’s. He is grinning.
“Now everything makes sense,” he says.
Nicolo stares at me with his mouth open. Gawping like a fish. “Wow,” he breathes. Then he shakes himself and flashes me a smirk.
He turns his attention back to Molly. “Nice to meet you, too.”
I remember to breathe. I unclench my fists.
