He handed me a beer and steered me to a corner with tall tables. They were all taken. He glared at one couple until they began to look uncomfortable. The girl whispered to the guy and they took off, shooting nervous glances at Noah as they left.

Noah immediately parked us in front of the table.

"You didn't have to do that," I said.

"Do what?"

"Scare those two off like that."

I eyed Noah over sips of beer, wondering why he'd decided to skip the group outing and hide us away by ourselves.

"So, I've thinking more about the song," he started.
