Page 4 of Happily Ever After… Again and Again
Gideon’s breath stalls.
“I want what you want,” he says too quickly. “It’s always perfect.”
Luca hums but also narrows his eyes at the dodge. “There must be something you’ve never tried but have always wanted to. You’ve been in the scene a long time—” he shrugs, “that list’s gotta be short as fuck. I don’t have many hard limits either, so…”
Gideon knows very well Luca’s list of hard limits, soft limits, and everything in between. They’re carved into his mind and body.
Thereissomething Gideon has never spoken about.
Luca climbs into his lap like he owns it, hips rocking just enough to drag wet heat across Gideon’s cock.
When Luca had asked, the one thing—one wild thing—he’d been saving to try with his mates had popped unbidden into his head, and now his wolf is determined to egg him on.
“Come on. You give me all the things I want to try.”
“Okay. Well…” His fingers dig into Luca’s soft thighs. “I want to take you to the woods in the Smoky Mountains. Strip you naked. Run you down—and fuck you.”
He spits it out rapid fire. Not because he’s embarrassed, but because he’s just worried the love of his life might think it’s too weird.
Luca sucks in a breath and drops his feet to the floor, only to head directly into his closet. He comes out holding a bag with “Spin Me A Yarn” printed on the side, and he starts throwing stuff into it like someone set his ass on fire.
It probably feels like it was.
The first thing that goes into the bag is a blue wool sweater (even though it’s currently summer). It’s quickly followed by a single rubber boot (dry season), a purple dildo (okay, that one’s a good idea), and finally, a pair of purple socks with cats on them. When he’s done, he throws a baseball cap on his head (which he never wears, and was swag from the first pitch Jay had thrown for the Braves in May), drops the bag on the floor, and heads for the door, confident Gideon will bring it along like he always does.
When he sees that Gideon is still lying in bed, head propped up on his fist and a smirk on his face, Gideon’s soulmate stamps his little foot. “What are you waiting for? Let’s go, let’s go.”
He’s out the door, almost taking Leo out at the top of the stairs before Gideon can catch him.
“Whoa! Where’s the fire, you two?” Gideon gets a whiff of spicy-hot cinnamon and knows what’s coming next. “And can I join?”
Throwing Luca over his shoulder, he kisses Leo’s cheek. “Give us ten.”
He hears Leo’s “Yes!” and his door slams thirty seconds later.
Gideon lets Luca slide down so he can pull him into his arms, all warm and smooth.
“I want to go now, Sugar. Can we? That sounds so good.” Luca throws the hat off. It lands perfectly on the bedpost, so he gives a small wiggly victory dance and a fist pump.
“Yes, we can go. No, we can’t go right now. I have to work out the logistics, but…” Gideon hesitates. “Luc, this will trigger my wolf. The Smokies are special to him, and it won’t be like anything we’ve done before.”
“That’s the point, right? Fuck, I am soexcited.”
Turns out Gideon is too, his wolf already forcing images of them hunting their prey through the woods and—
Nope, get a grip, dumbass.
To ease a bit of his disappointment, Gideon focuses on the here and now, which is most certainly not disappointing.
“I’m excited too, baby.” In the past, he might not have been able to confess it to anyone without feeling vulnerable or worried he’d be perceived as weak. It’s just one more way being part of this pack has freed Gideon from his past.
He encourages Luca to bend over the edge of the bed so he can prop Luca’s knees up and wedge them wide. A knock at the door comes just in time, and Leo pushes it open, smelling shower-fresh and aroused.
“Color, Honey?”
Gideon holds up the softest Shibari rope from the cabinet, unwinding a shorter length as he watches Luca’s eyes light up.
“Ooooh, green.”
