Page 108 of Gold Sector
Oros palms my cheek, his long hair falling downaround his face to form a curtain of golden-blond strands around us.
“I’m going to spend every day of eternity ensuring you never have one of those moments again,” he tells me, clearly having heard all my thoughts. “Because, Taliana of Gold Sector, you are more than worthy. You’re a fucking Goddess, printesa mea.”
He kisses me again, this time slowly and languidly as his knot continues to pulse inside me.
“You’remyfucking Goddess,” he goes on. “And someday, we’re going to create a nest of pups and whelps.” His mind tells me how much he wants that, his desire surprising me because part of me thought he bred me during my heat.
But he didn’t.
I would sense it if we created a life.
He used protection, I realize, seeing the confirmation in his mind.
Some hazy part of me recalls questioning that early on in my heat. I wasn’t sure then of what I wanted. However, hearing his yearnings now, knowing that he craves whelpsandpups, I know I desire that, too.
My next heat probably won’t occur for several months.
Or maybe it’ll be during the next moon.
Given my genetics, it’s hard to know for sure.
“Maybe I am Rumpelstiltskin after all,” Oros muses, his eyes dancing with mirth. “I’m craving your firstborn. And second born. And third born.” His eyebrows waggle, his lips curling. “In return, I’ll give you however much gold you want, printesa mea. In fact, I’ll give you my whole sector.”
I giggle. “I think I just need your knot, Alpha.”
“Mmm, you can absolutely have that, too.” He presseshis hips against mine, causing said knot to spasm inside me. “Every fucking day and night.”
“Sounds like utopia to me.”
“Not utopia,” he replies. “Just our lives.” He brushes his lips against mine. “An eternity of happily-ever-afters.”
“Sounds like my kind of fairy tale,” I reply.
“Indeed,” he agrees. “Now kiss me until my knot subsides. Then I’ll take you for a flight. I want the whole sector to see their princess on my back.”
“Dressed in gold?” I guess.
His lips curl. “Always, printesa mea. Always.”
EPILOGUE
ONYX
I pacethe gold floor of the court, my hands behind my back.
It’s a nervous tic, one I’m very aware of and do my best to keep hidden.
But the only other person in the room right now is my brother. And he already knows how I feel about this situation.
Because he feels the same way.
At any moment now, Rio’s sister is going to realize her fate. Understand that her brother lied about their destination. And no doubt react to that misinformation.
“He should have told her the truth,” I mutter. It goes against the grain to trick an Omega, especially like this.
“Maybe. But we don’t have a full understanding of their circumstances,” Oros says as he plays a gold coin through his fingers.
It’s a coin he made for his mate, one I have no doubt he intends to give her as soon as he returns to their nest.
