Dinner was great. Not only was the food great, but the vibes were as well.

We all talked, laughed, and cried together.

My heart swelled, getting to know the family I was about to marry into.

It was obvious they were tight knit like my family, and I had no doubt in my mind I’d be well taken care of by everyone in it.

“We don’t,” Klay responded. “It’s going to be a busy month, teaching your father all the ropes, so I won’t have much say in the wedding.”

“That’s fine. I’ll be more than happy to get your input, but I’m also sure our mothers and your sister won’t mind picking up where you can’t.”

“I won’t be surprised if their asses completely try to take over. Don’t let them bully you.”

I scoffed with a playful roll of my eyes. “I wish the fuck I would. We’re not doing anything either of us don’t want to do. The least they could do is let us have the last say since we didn’t have say in anything else.”

“Hell yeah. You’re right.”

Briefly, we were silent. I was in my head, reprocessing the fact we were truly getting married.

All the talk about it at dinner made it real again.

With all the time Klay and I had spent getting to know one another, it was enjoyable and almost made me forget the true reason we were doing so. Everything felt so natural with him.

I glanced over at Klay who was already staring at me.

The sexual tension in the air almost made it too hard to breathe.

I found myself almost gasping for air when Klay slid over closer to me, invading my personal space, which I didn’t mind one bit.

All night, he’d been rubbing my thigh underneath the table or caressing my hand.

The affectionate side of him was one I’d grown to thoroughly enjoy.

With our lips almost touching, breathing in one another’s air, Klay expressed, “Thank you, Mami.”

“For?”

“Being here for me. Getting me to see shit in a different way, especially now when I need it. You’re something special.”

“Thank you, Klay. I only want what’s best for you in every way. I see things you don’t see in yourself, and I’m sure it’s the same with you as well.” I placed my hand on his face, grazing his lips with mine. “Remember what I said. I’ll give when you can’t.”

“Everything I’ve been trying to hold back, I’m unleashing tonight.”

I read between the lines, and the seat of my thong filled with my honey. All I could do was nod as Klay’s hand squeezed my upper thigh. My nipples rubbed against the fabric of my shirt from being so erect. It didn’t help that Klay grabbed my hand and placed it onto of his extremely hard member.

My hand traveled up and down the length of it. He was well endowed, thick and long, making my mouth water.

“Mmm.” I moaned when Klay’s lips traveled from my cheeks down to my neck.

I craned it back and closed my eyes. He gently sucked, hands traveling up to my breasts.

Without a care, he popped one out, immediately covering my exposed nipple with his mouth.

The warmth from his mouth and the feeling of his tongue swirling around it made me arch my back.

If we didn’t make it to his house soon, I was liable to fuck him right then and there in the backseat.

And apparently, Klay didn’t care either. In one swift motion, he turned my body and started lifting my skirt, sliding it all the way up my thighs. I wasn’t wearing any panties, so when his lips teased my inner thighs, I almost lost it. Kiss by kiss, he got closer and closer to my center.

When his lips met my lower ones in a sloppy, French kiss, my nails dug into his shoulders.

I lowly hissed, trying to keep it together as if my goods weren’t out for the driver to see.

The light sucks and flick of his tongue over my swollen bud felt too damn good.

He didn’t stop until I was releasing, and we were pulling up at his house.

With my nectar still glistening on his beard, Klay assisted me in fixing my clothes. He let the driver know there was no need in helping us out. My feet hit the pavement, and Klay easily scooped me up, carrying me inside the house. He took me up to his room where he had his way with me all night.

My body would be sore in the morning, but it would be well worth it.

June 4 th - 12:00pm

I’d been on a high for days, and it was all thanks to Klay. Anytime I closed my eyes, I envisioned all the things he did to my body. Each time made me ache for him. I wanted him again. I needed him again. With today being his birthday, I had something up my sleeve to get him.

My daddy and Klay had been working tirelessly to get things in order at Grove Shadows for Daddy’s takeover.

They would get there before the crack of dawn and leave after the sun went down.

Despite the long hours Klay worked, he still made it a point to see me.

Whether it was through a video call or an impromptu lunch, he let me know he hadn’t forgotten about me.

It wasn’t like I thought he would. We texted throughout the day, and he’d sent me another gorgeous bouquet of roses.

Klay was extremely thoughtful, something I wasn’t quite used to but was getting there and enjoying every minute of it.

“Good morning, Jake,” I greeted as I opened the door. “How are you?”

“I’m well, and yourself?”

“Great, ready to surprise Klay. I’m no baker, but I got his favorite cake recipe from his mother. It took me most of the night to make it, but I think it turned out good.” I admired the Tres Leche cake in my container with a goofy grin, proud of myself for my beautiful work.

Pamela had given me the recipe from Javier’s mother’s cookbook. At the dinner, she gave me fun facts about Klay, and the cake being his favorite was one of them. He didn’t like making a big deal of his birthday, but we were going to celebrate him whether he wanted to or not.

Jake smiled and took the container from me while I locked the door. “He’s going to be very appreciative of it, Parrish. It’s a long shot, but ask him to save me a piece.”

“I’m not sure if he’ll even share with me.”

We shared a laugh, and Jake led me to the truck where Bentley waited for us. The ride to the Shadows was smooth. I uploaded some new makeup content on FameVsYou while anticipating Klay’s reaction.

Before going up to his office, I decided to stop by the bar to see Loyal. She was working the early shift today, and she’d been texting me about Haze getting on her nerves.

“Parrie!” She squealed, running around the counter and hugging my neck as if she hadn’t seen me four days ago. “You don’t know how badly I need you here.”

“Low-key, I miss being here. Being at home is cool and all, but you know I love to stay busy.”

“Haven’t you been booking more clients?”

“I have, which has been a game changer, but I’m so used to working that it feels weird. Like, do I have what it takes to be a stay-at-home wife?”

“Stay-at-home wife?” Haze’s nosy ass came up behind me and asked. “Who are you getting married to, and since when? I don’t see a ring on your finger.”

Loyal and I glanced at one another. Only family and friends knew about Klay’s and my arrangement.

We were cool with people finding out however they did, but it wasn’t something we were being super open about.

The Ramirez family was private. With their dealings, they had to be, and so did Daddy.

I thought about sharing it with Haze, just to satisfy his curiosity, but it was best to keep him wondering.

I snickered and replied, “It’s none of your business. You’ll see whenever we pop out.”

“That’s because your ass is lying.”

“If you say so.”

“Anyways.” Loyal interrupted, rolling her eyes. “What’s this?”

“A Tres Leche cake.”

“It smells good as hell. Save me a piece if you can. Let me get back to work before Haze says something crazy and makes me pop off.”

I gave Loyal love and headed to the elevator with Jake in tow. On the ride up, I silently prayed Klay would like the cake. The few bites I had were absolutely delicious, but I didn’t think it was up to his abuela’s standards. Maybe after a few more tries, it would be.

As I approached Klay’s office, he stepped out with his lips drawn upward. I stopped in my tracks, taking him in. “Happy birthday, Klay.”

“Thank you, Mami. I saw you on the cameras talking to Loyal, thinking you better be coming up to see me.”

“It’s your day. I made it a point to be in your presence.” I held the container out to him. “This is for you.”

Klay swaggered over to me, looking devilishly handsome in his maroon and gold suit. He took the container from me with his lips poked out. I kissed them and thumbed away my lip gloss. Before I could say anything, he kissed me again, then ran his tongue over his lips.

“You know I like the taste of you, Mami. I’ve never had anything better.”

I blushed and flitted my eyes. “Not even a Tres Leches cake? Your abuela’s recipe.”

“Get the fuck out of here.”

Klay opened the container with a twinkle in his eyes as he wet his lips.

He bobbed his head backward for me to follow him to his office.

Daddy was sitting on one of the couches, so I went over to give him love while Klay carefully placed the cake on his desk.

He called someone, and minutes later, one of the servers brought up plates and silverware.

“Cut three pieces, please,” Klay instructed.

“Are you actually going to share, Klayton? When you were younger, you never wanted to share your cake. Your abuela always made you a separate one to have for yourself,” my father teased.

Klay chuckled. “I remember that. I’m only sharing because Parrish took her time to do this for me, which I truly appreciate, Mami.”

I laid my head on Daddy’s shoulder. “You’re welcome.”

Daddy kissed my forehead as I snuggled closer to him. I hadn’t been affectionate with him since my birthday, and I couldn’t act as if I didn’t miss cuddling up to him. Klay had been on the receiving end of my affection, but there was nothing like sharing it with my father.

The server handed us all a plate. I waited to take a bite to get Klay and Daddy’s reaction. When Klay’s eyes rolled to the back of his head, and he pointed at the cake with his fork, I knew it was a winner.

“This takes exactly like my abulea’s. Did you get this recipe from my mother?” Klay asked, taking another healthy bite.

“I did. Do you really like it?”

“Hell yeah. This shit is good as hell. I’m not sharing any more of it.”

Daddy nodded in agreement. “It is good, Parrish. Let me find out you’re like your mother in the kitchen. We’ll be having dinner at your house from now on. Speaking of”—Daddy set his plate down and looked between Klay and me—“where are y’all going to live?”

“Klay’s house. I’m thinking about selling my house to Loyal. She loves it, and I know she’s tired of renting,” I answered.

“I guess we need to start packing your stuff up, huh?”

“I guess so. I have nothing but time on my hands since Klay hasn’t let me go back to work.”

Daddy pointed at him. “I like that. I never wanted her to work here, but she’s so damn strongminded. She can put her time and energy into what she truly wants to do while learning to be a wife.”

“My thoughts exactly,” Klay stated, digging into his second piece of cake. “She’s passionate about makeup, and she’s damn good at it, too, from what I’ve been researching. I think that’s where her focus needs to be while we learn how to navigate life being married together.”

“The two of you have great chemistry, like Javier and I knew you would. I think it’ll be easy for y’all to fall in line with your new lives.”

“I think we’re falling in line very well already.”

I looked at Klay whose eyes were on me. Our silent moment of connection was brief due to Razor coming into the office, informing them there was a problem that needed to be handled. Daddy said he would take care of it, but Razor said they were both needed.

“Fuck.” Klay dropped his plate on his desk and straightened his suit jacket. “How long do you think this will take?”

Razor hunched his shoulders. “Depends on what you want done.”

“Is it a basement problem?”

“It is.”

Klay ran his tongue over his top teeth as he walked over to me. He stopped in front of me with his hands out, lifting me to my feet. With his hand on the back on my neck, he kissed my forehead.

Oh, the feels.

It had only been almost two months, and yet, I found myself falling for him. He made it too easy. An arranged marriage I was once so upset about was becoming more and more likable to me.

“I don’t know how long this is going to take. Do you want to stay and wait or leave?” Klay questioned.

Daddy replied as if the question was meant for him. “She’s going to leave. I don’t want her around if things take a turn.”

“You know I never let things get out of control, but I agree with you, Patrick.”

“I need to go run a few errands anyway,” I informed them, peering up at Klay. “Are you still coming by my house later?”

“As soon as I’m done here.”

I slipped my tongue into Klay’s mouth, engaging in a passionate kiss until my father cleared his throat. Klay sucked on my bottom lip before pulling away.

“See you later, Mami.”

“See you.”
