I popped open the cap, glancing inside, and the little hope that I had for him caused my stomach to sink further.
Nope.
He really just wasn’tthatbright.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I mumbled. Then, before putting it back, I took a picture of both the bottle and the recognizable white pills, then closed it and put it back where I found it.
This was justtooeasy.
But…
This also meant that Bianca was right the whole time. Damn it.
I backed out of the car and pulled a tin aerosol can from my pocket. Cory had worn the same cologne for years; he wouldn’t suspect a thing. I practically emptied the can into the vehicle before closing the passenger door.
I was done here. The date must almost be over by now.
‘There’s some heavy petting, and even a marriage proposal,’ she answered, and even though I could hear the sarcasm in her voice, my heart still began to race with dread. ‘I really think this is the one. I wouldn’t blame her. He’s so much more charming than Huo.’
I scoffed.
Although, I did have to give him credit. Cory had balls. He asked Bianca on a date, after all, while most people would look at her, but never approach. Whether she realized it or not, she was intimidating. Her cynical expressions and ruthless statements, all without her even knowing that she said anything terrible, had helped make my job easier.
