Well, that was nice, since I did knowhowto do either of those things. But that wasn’t the point. Although her ability to be on point about certain things was somewhat unnerving.

That realization didn’t bode well though, because it meant, just maybe, that she was right to pursue this.

And I didn’t want to. I didn’t care about Cory Moore. Once we graduated, I would be happy to go the rest of my life without ever seeing him again.

But then again, I had anobligationas an officer to help others. And if Cory was up to something, that was somewhat my concern.

Ugh, I hated it when Bianca was right.

I sighed, lowering my face into my hands. Why was I agreeing to this stupid plan? “What am I supposed to be looking for after I break into Cory’s car?”

“Anything suspicious,” she replied instantly, as if that made any sense at all.

I already knew what would happen if I didn’t agree. She’d go ahead, probably sneak out of the window, and would go do it anyway. “Fine.”

It was amazing that she was so terrified ofeverything, but once her focus was turned away from herself, she had no fears about doing the craziest things.

Amazing, and extremely hard to follow.

“Whatever you want,” I told her. “But you don’t need to sneak out. I’ll tell your parents we’re going to the mall. Cory can deal with it.”

She blinked at me, expression unreadable, before she finally broke out into the biggest smile. “Thank you!” she said. “You’re always full of good ideas.”

“Not really…” I grumbled crossing my arms.

It was just the only way for this to end with the least disastrous results.
