It was impossible to tell from her downcast eyes and pensive expression.
Darn it.
“Bianca,” I rushed after her. “Hold on a minute, I want to talk.”
“In a little bit,” she said, still watching her feet. Her reply was curt, and I couldn’t breathe as the situation replayed over again in my head.
I couldn’t blame Cory, no matter how much I wanted. It was my fault.
“I just need to think about this.” Her hair had fallen across her eyes, and for the first time in a long time, I couldn’t tell what she was thinking. Panic choked at me. Had I said too much this time? “I’ll let you know what I come up with.”
I should have stopped her, but I didn’t even try.
