Page 7 of Follow Me to Your Heart

I was exhausted.

Mentally and physically.

Shit had blown up, and O’Shea was on our asses about getting everything fixed.

Once again, some money had come up missing from a different house.

When Red and I went to collect, the house was completely empty.

Not one person, dollar bill, or gram in sight.

We hadn’t been able to find the culprits.

Since I was the overseer of those particular houses, everything fell on Red and me.

We’d been searching high and low, day and night, getting closer with each second.

I felt like shit.

I’d neglected everyone and everything, including myself. Over the last few days, I had hardly eaten or gotten any rest. My body was running on E, demanding I rest and fuel myself properly, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t do anything until all thirty g’s were returned and bodies were in the ground.

“I’m tired as fuck, man,” Red complained, sinking deeper into the passenger seat and swiping his hands down his face. “Has no one come out yet?”

“Nah. You know how it is when they think shit is sweet. I can bet they’re in there flashing the money as if they worked hard for it.”

“Hell yeah. You know they are. I told O’Shea it’s time to clean house and restart with a whole new housing crew. The shit ain’t happening for no reason. These niggas been plotting and planning for some time now. It’s odd for it to happen back-to-back like this.”

“Hopefully, this is the last of it. I agree with you, Red. O’Shea gotta clean house, and we need to help him pick the next team.”

The last thing I desired to do was take more lives, but with how things were going, it was inevitable.

There was no doubt in my mind that I would shut down.

The thought made my mind drift to the conversation I had with Keith.

I’d spoken to him since the night I pulled up on Marquis, and he brought up my plan again.

My goal was to flip houses in the hood and keep them affordable.

The older I got, the more I realized how fucked up things could be.

I grew up in the hood watching my mama, along with all the other parents residing there, struggle to make ends meet with minimal help.

Shit like that scarred you and had you mad at the world.

I’d witnessed it time and time again. It was time to make a change.

For the last three years, I’d been saving my money for a better purpose.

I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do when I first started.

At that time, after being in the game for two years at seventeen, I realized I didn’t want to do it forever.

The only reason I got in the game was to get fast money to help my mama.

It became an addiction, especially after seeing the weight being lifted from my mama’s shoulders every time I put a stack in her hand. I found myself getting deeper in it.

Korren warned me it would happen.

Red tapped the back of his hand against my chest as he sat up, breaking me from my thoughts. “Aye, I see someone.”

I rose up to see someone dressed in all-black approaching the front door of the house we were watching, observing his surroundings.

With a head nod, Red and I got out with our protection and hid behind a car parked on the curb in front of the house.

We watched as the man knocked on the door and waited until someone opened it before moving in.

Immediately, I recognized one of our house workers, Lynn. His eyes ballooned upon seeing us.

Red kicked the mystery man in the leg with his gun pressed against the back of his head, while I walked deeper inside the house.

As I expected, they were having a party, throwing money around that I knew wasn’t theirs to impress the half-naked girls in their faces.

I leaned against the wall and shot in the ceiling.

The girls screamed and scattered while the men went mute.

“Turn the music off, Lynn,” I calmly demanded, glaring directly at him. He appeared stuck, not moving fast enough for me. My irritation level was at an all-time high. I wasn’t in the mood to repeat myself, so I held my gun up and shot Lynn in the shoulder.

He cried out in pain but swiftly turned the music off. I remained leaning against the wall, finally getting a chance to look around to see the other two houseworkers there as well. Not wanting someone innocent caught up in the crossfire, I asked Red to identify the mystery man.

“Who are you?” Red asked, snatching the hood off his head. Neither of us recognized who he was, but from his poor physique, I figured he came with an intention to buy from them.

“I-I don’t want any problems, man. I was coming to get a fix.”

“What you need?” I questioned.

“An eight ball.”

I nodded and thumbed my nose. “Lynn, go get that for him. Bring all our money while you’re at it. The two of you sitting on the couch need to gather up what’s on the floor and make sure those girls didn’t run off with any either. I’d hate to kill a woman for playing with us, but I will.”

They dispersed, immediately doing as I asked. I rubbed my eyes, feeling an excruciating headache coming along. All I could do was hope they didn’t make shit any harder than it had already been. I needed shit to go smoothly so I could get my life back on track.

A few moments later, Lynn appeared with the drugs and two duffel bags while the other two had neatly stacked the money on the table.

Lynn served the junkie. The second he left, I nodded at Red, and he beat the shit out of Lynn.

He was the head of the house he worked, so he would catch it worse than the other two.

“I need the money counted out loud and by hand from you,” I said, pointing at the first man on the couch, then the second.

“And you need to explain why the fuck y’all thought it was okay to steal from O’Shea.

Matter of fact . . .” I held my hand up and pulled my phone out.

The phone rang twice before O’Shea answered.

“Tell me you got some good news for me, Cage.”

“I do. We found them, but I thought it’d be good for them to give you an explanation on their actions and why they chose to fuck with your money when you feed them.”

“Hell yeah.” O’Shea agreed, and I heard his music turn down in the background. “I’m listening.”

“I-uh-we-uh-Lynn made us do it! He approached us with a plan and said we’d split the money three ways. We could invest half to make a bigger profit.”

“So you mean to tell me y’all thought ten g’s a piece was going to be life-changing?”

Silence. The two on the couch looked at one another while Lynn rolled on the ground, groaning.

“Handle that, Red,” I instructed, and he wasted no time putting a bullet through Lynn’s skull.

“One down, two to go.” O’Shea chuckled. “Hit me up when you’re done, Cage.”

“I got you.”

Once the call ended, I put a bullet in the confessor’s head and listened to the counter count all thirty g’s.

Red sent him to meet his maker, and I instantly felt relief and agony mixed together.

The shit was over. Physically, I could take care of myself, but mentally . . . Mentally, I needed my best friend.

Two hours later, I’d met with O’Shea and gotten everything situated.

Red and I went our separate ways. I was about to head to Korren’s when Lorie called me.

It was as if my body knew who it was because my dick hardened against my thigh.

The type of stress reliver I needed was between Lorie’s thighs and the only reason I answered the phone.

“What, Lorie?”

“Come see me.”

“For what?”

She kissed her teeth, and I imagined her rolling those sultry brown eyes at me. “You know exactly what for, Cage. I want some dick.”

“You better be glad I’m in need. I’m on my way.”

I hung up without waiting for her to reply.

Her place was about seven minutes away from where I was at, so I decided to ride in silence.

My mind drifted to Korren. I missed her ass more than anything.

She was where my heart wanted to be. With her, I would feel immediate peace.

The last few days wouldn’t matter because I’d be with my best friend, my safe place.

I could bet she was pissed with me for not talking to her, but I had to put all my energy into finding them.

Why did I feel guilty for going to Lorie’s? A part of me felt as if I was betraying Korren. In my mind, I felt as if I was choosing Lorie over her, but Korren couldn’t do for me what I needed Lorie to do, no matter how badly I wished she could at times.

Lorie’s sexy silhouette could be seen through her window as I eased into her driveway. Every curve could be made out from her thick hips and voluptuous breasts. Her physique, cooking, and pussy were the only three things I missed about her. Everything else wasn’t worth my time.

She opened the door wearing nothing but a short, sheer robe. My mouth watered at the sight of her Hershey kiss nipples poking out at me along with the enticing aroma of a home-cooked meal. My stomach loudly growled, causing Lorie to giggle.

“I can fuck and feed you, Cage. Just let me know which one you want first,” Lorie expressed, rubbing her hands all over her body.

The deep hues of brown in her skin glowed from whatever shimmery stuff she had on her body.

When I heard the sloshing on her wetness from her fingers moving in and out of her opening, I figured I needed to be fucked first. A good meal would knock me out, and I had just enough fuel for her to empty me.

I closed the door behind me, grabbed Lorie’s hand, and led her to her room where I went straight to take a shower.

It was no surprise that she joined me. Since I was tired, I allowed her to cleanse my body, enjoying the feel of the hot water and her soft hands.

The second all the soap washed off my body, Lorie dropped to her knees and took me in.

“Mmm, fuck.” I groaned, leaning my head back against the wall.

My eyes lowered into slits, connecting with Lorie’s mocha-colored ones as she nastily swirled her tongue around my swollen head.

She slapped her mouth with my member three times before sucking me back into her mouth like a vacuum.

My toes curled. My hands found the back of her head and roughly gripped her small braids.

She smiled up at me with my dick still in her mouth.

Her small hands gripped my shaft, massaging it up and down in sync with her mouth movements.

“Just like that, Lo. Just like that.”

Lorie was getting the job done. I didn’t want to release off head. My body wouldn’t be able to go any longer without a nut, so I pulled out her mouth and demanded she bend over.

Lorie was the only person I’d ever fuck raw.

While I knew better, I was too far gone not to strap up.

All I could do was hope she hadn’t contracted anything from anyone.

It was stupid, but it was how I felt in the moment.

Her walls were tight as hell around me. She was leaving a trail of cream with each thrust. My eyes closed, and my ears rang from her moans filling the bathroom.

When I started to become lightheaded, I knew I was on the brink of an orgasm.

My dick jumped, but I refused to release before her.

With one hand gripping her hip, I used the other to reach around and massage her clit.

Just a few circles over it, and Lorie’s pussy became creamier.

Her moans went up a few octaves as her hand went to my stomach.

I slapped it away, feeling her release all over me.

Not wanting to slip up, I pulled out of her and jacked myself until my seeds were going down the drain. My eyes got heavier, so I washed up again and got out. Lorie still had some of my old clothes. I moisturized my body and got dressed while she went to fix me a plate.

“Damn. That looks good,” I complimented as she returned with a plate of turkey chops, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and green beans.

“You know I gets down in the bed and the kitchen. Don’t play as if you forgot.”

“How could I?”

I dug in while Lorie lay on the bed beside me. I devoured my plate while she scrolled through her phone, thankful for the silence. It didn’t last long when I felt her staring at the side of my face.

“What, Lorie?”

She sat up on her elbows. “Don’t you miss this?”

“Your cooking? Hell yeah.”

“You know I’m not talking about that, Cage. I’m talking about us. Don’t you miss us?”

I scraped off the rest of the mashed potatoes and side-eyed her pretty ass.

Lorie’s light pink lips were in a full pout as she batted her eyes at me.

When I smirked and didn’t answer, she huffed and fell onto her back.

I put my plate on her nightstand and debated on going home.

My body was begging me to close my eyes, but I knew once I did, I would be sleep for hours.

The last thing I needed was to have an extended stay at Lorie’s.

“Well, here I was thinking Korren was a lame, but looks like college is breaking her out her shell,” Lorie announced, giggling.

“What are you talking about?”

Lorie held her phone up, and I immediately saw red.

Korren was dancing all on some random, but it was obvious she was drunk which was unusual.

The thing that stood out to me the most was how he was handling her.

He was being too rough, and his hands were roaming too much for me.

I snatched Lorie’s phone to get a closer look, pausing the video as Korren looked at the camera with a lazy grin.

Her eyes were darker than normal, indicating she was too far gone.

The entire situation wasn’t sitting well with me, so I tossed Lorie’s phone on the bed and got up.

“And where are you going? Don’t tell me you’re about to go to her, Cage?” Lorie all but yelled, throwing her hands in the air.

“What I do doesn’t concern you, Lorie. I appreciate the food and sex, but that’s all this was. You know that.”

“I hate you! You can fuck me, but you can’t love me?”

“You’re damn right. I know how to separate sex and my feelings, but it’s obvious you don’t. That’s on me for fuckin’ you while I’m vulnerable. Believe it won’t happen again.”

Lorie continued to yell and cry, but I had tuned her out. I was on a mission, and I prayed it didn’t send me to jail.
