“Where are we?” Korren questioned, observing our surroundings.

“Come inside, and I’ll explain.”

Carefully, I opened the door and turned the lights on. Korren gasped as she looked around, trying to make sense of the mess in front of her. The construction workers had been busy bringing Keith’s and my vision to life. It was crazy seeing it all unfold.

Korren released my hand and ventured deeper inside the house. With my hands in my pockets, I silently followed her around as she went all through the house. We ended up in the master bedroom before she finally turned to me and spoke.

“So this is what you’ve been working on?”

I bobbed my head, stepping close to her. “It is. Keith and I have been planning this for a while, but I was holding us up, being indecisive. You helped me realize I needed to let some shit go so I can do this. I’m not sure how things will turn out, but I’m enjoying the process.”

“Things will turn out exactly how they’re supposed to, Cage. I’m proud of you. This is major. I’ve known about it for a while, but I was waiting for you to tell me.”

I frowned and immediately figured out how she knew. “Taylor’s big ass mouth.”

Korren snickered. “Leave my friend alone. She didn’t know it was a secret. Why was it a secret?”

“It wasn’t a secret. It was something I wasn’t ready to speak or act on.

You taking a break from me pushed me over the ledge I was scared to jump off.

I’m done with the streets, KoKo. Red took my spot.

Keith and I are in this full force. This is our first house, but we already have a second one in motion. ”

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah, I am. So, thank you. I hate how shit happened, but it was meant to happen that way.” I invaded her personal space, looping my arm around her waist and pulling her body into mine. I nuzzled my face in her neck, deeply inhaling her scent. “Damn. I missed you.”

“I missed you, Cage,” she admitted, craning her neck back as I peppered kisses all over it. “So damn much.”

“You know your break is over, right? We’re not doing this shit again.”

Korren hissed as my tongue ran up the nape of her neck and connected with her lips. I sucked on her bottom lip before slipping my tongue inside her mouth. She eagerly welcomed it. With her hands planted on my face, she took my breath away. Our tongues danced as my hands roamed her body.

Not one beat was missed as our clothes fell to the floor. Neither of us cared about the mess around us. All that mattered was us being together again. With ease, our souls became in tune again, creating a song that would forever be in our hearts.

I picked Korren up, hooked her legs in the crook of my arms and slowly lowered her down on me. Her head flung back. Her mouth was open, but no sound came out except for a low gasp upon entrance.

Slowly, hands gripping her ass, I bounced her up and down on my pole. The way my dick disappeared and reappeared creamier than before was a beautiful sight. Korren’s bud was poking, teasing me. Two weeks was too long to not have her taste enticing my tastebuds. Carefully, I pulled out of her.

“Hold on tight,” I instructed, lifting her up to my face.

“Oh, Cage!”

My lips were planted against her lower, sticky ones as my tongue swirled around her pearl.

Korren’s nails dug into my shoulders as I feasted on her mound.

She peered down at me, eyes lowered and lighter than normal.

I gently sucked on her, French kissing every inch of her pussy.

Her hips bucked against my face as she rode the wave of her release.

Once she was back on her feet, she turned around and arched her back. My lids closed as I entered her again. Her walls were sucking me in. When she started throwing it back on me, I let her have full control until I was on the brink of coming. I quickly pulled out and released in my hand.

We were both panting as we cleaned up and got dressed. It was a good thing the house had electricity and water, or we would’ve been screwed.

“Are you staying the night with me?” Korren asked as we pulled up at her apartment.

“Do you want me to?”

She playfully rolled her eyes. “You know I do. I haven’t gotten to sleep with you.”

“And who’s fault is that?”

Korren slapped my arm, and we got out. Once we were inside, we showered and crawled in her bed. I lay between her legs as she massaged my scalp. Everything felt so right. I was home, exactly where I needed to be.

“Babe?”

“Hmm?”

“I love you,” Korren said.

“I love you, KoKo.”

“Thank you for showing up for me today.”

My hand trailed up and down her bare thigh. “I’ll always show up for you. How do you feel about what happened with your mama?”

“I don’t care. For the longest, my feelings toward her have been numb. There’s a part of me that hopes she changes while the other part is content with how things are now. Like Kasey said, all I can do is pray for her.”

“He’s right. I’ll support you in however you choose to deal with her. I don’t care about anyone’s feelings when it comes to you.”

She giggled. “I know, and I feel the same way. We do need to talk about something else.”

“I’m listening.”

“The night we—well, I took a break from us, I received pictures of you and Lorie from the night before. What was that about?”

“Not shit but her showing her ass. I was trying to leave and schedule a car to pick me up, and she approached me on some childish shit. I had to pin her up twice.”

“I figured it wasn’t anything, but I thought I’d ask.”

I kissed her inner thigh and stared up at her. Her curls were all over her head, framing her face like a lion’s mane. Korren smiled at me. She wrapped her legs around mine with one of her hands raking through my beard. I’d loved her for so long, sometimes it felt unreal that she was mine.

“What’s on your mind, babe?”

“You.”

“What about me?”

I sat up on my knees and pulled her underneath me to where we were face-to-face. “How it feels unreal to have you as my girlfriend. When do you want to be my wife?”

“Cage.”

“I’m serious.”

“I know, and I am too. You don’t know how many times I’ve pictured our wedding and kids. How many times I’ve pictured the life we’ll create, even before we became a couple. I’ve always known it was you.”

“And I have too. For the past two years, I’ve been putting money to the side for you. I thought it was to invest in your nail shop, but I’m thinking it’s for our wedding.”

She gasped, tears welling in her eyes. “Seriously?”

“Yeah. You know everything I do, I do with you in mind too. Everyone close to me is set, but you’re the only one who knows.”

“That big heart of yours. That’s one reason I love you so much.”

“You still haven’t answered my question.”

Her mouth twisted as she tapped her finger against her lips. “After I graduate. We can plan our wedding and get married within a year of proposal. How does that sound?”

“What if I told you I can’t wait that long.”

“Cage! It’s only four more years. You can wait. That way, we can both become established in our careers and ready to settle down. Sound good?”

“It’s whatever you want, baby. Just know you’re going to have my last name.”

“I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
