Yeah, I knew he liked how I smelled, especially when my healing ability came into play. Which was part of the reason I’d engaged my gift.
“About the princess,” Zian began, not ready to let this go even though his eyes smoldered with need. “She’s obviously not a threat. Novak had her pinned, and all she did was stare at him.”
“He saved her,” I pointed out. “Maybe that made her more trusting.”
“Yes, more trusting,” Sorin drawled. “I mean, when I tried to help you on our first day here, you returned the favor by trying to kill me.”
“You’re never going to let that go, are you?” It came out less angry and more sultry because of his nearness.
“Never,” he vowed, his teeth catching my lip and giving me a nibble.
“He’s right,” Zian said as he closed the distance between us to run his palm up my thigh. “Saving a female doesn’t necessarily equate to trust. I think she didn’t fight him because she fears him. Or maybe because she needs him alive for something.”
“Let him figure it out,” Sorin said, his lips on my neck. “He can take care of himself.”
“For now,” Zian conceded, his skilled fingers unfastening my jeans and tugging them down my legs.
Sorin tugged at the loop of my halter top, freeing my breasts. “Then we’re agreed.”
“For now,” Zian repeated. “But we’re not done with this conversation.”
“We are,” Sorin whispered, his lips drawing a sinful path up my neck to my ear. “Spread your legs for Zian, little dove. He’s going to fuck you first.”
“A gift for acquiescing?” Zian asked, already removing his pants. “Or a distraction?”
“Both,” Sorin said, his teeth skimming my thundering pulse. “Obey, little dove.”
I considered ignoring him, but the heat pooling in my core had me reacting to his words and his command. My thighs parted, unleashing my scent through the room and eliciting a growl from my mates.
Sorin reached around me, spreading me open further. The pressure so close to where I wanted him made me whimper. “Do you want to taste her first?” he asked, his voice low. “Or slide right in?”
“She’s certainly wet enough,” Zian replied as he knelt on the floor. “Smells amazing, too.”
Oh gods…
Sorin palmed my breast, squeezing it just the way I liked, causing me to arch into—
The cell door banged open with a hard crash, making me jolt upright.
Novak stood in the doorway like a looming shadow, his icy gaze narrowing. Normally, he ignored us completely, even while we had sex. But his intense stare suggested he had something to say—a rarity for the typically mute Noir.
However, rather than speak, he picked up my clothes from the floor and threw them over Zian’s head, adding a commanding growl to the mix that made his message clear.
Get. Dressed.
The place between my thighs throbbed in denial, but Zian quickly helped pull up my jeans before refastening his own. Sorin tied up my top, his displeasure radiating from his chest.
“What the fuck, Novak?” he demanded.
My nose twitched, causing me to frown as a familiar scent struck my senses.Metallic. Old. Blood. My eyes widened. “Oh…”The Reformer.“He’shere,” I mouthed.
Zian’s eyebrows drew down, then flew upward as he caught my meaning.
Novak dipped his chin, his jaw tight.
Sorin slid off the bed to prowl toward the doorway, fluffing his feathers as everything fell silent in the hall.
All except one voice—a smooth, cultured male tone that I didn’t recognize. “Sayir. I want a word. Right fucking now.”
