Page 13 of Finding Finn (Foggy Basin Season 2)
JIM
I t was the first time that I’d let someone sleep over since Tad and I broke up in college.
That had to mean something, right? Normally, I’d get out of bed and we’d take a shower, and I’d make sure to escort the guy downstairs and out the door with no promises to call him later.
But I didn’t want Finn to leave. I loved the way his body gyrated, the way he bucked his hips – I wanted more.
I wanted to watch the way his face flushed as I fucked him.
His mouth opened in this perfect bow as he moaned in pleasure.
I even showered and brushed my teeth before waking him up with a good morning kiss. He was mortified by his own breath, but I didn’t care.
Two or three days before this, he annoyed the shit out of me. I had to stop myself from yelling at him when he told me he wanted to paint the fucking train. Now… If he wants it painted, I’d ask him what color.
Who am I?
What had he done to me, and why was I allowing it to happen willingly?
Lonely. I had been lonelier than I would have admitted if someone had asked me.
I always put on a smile when I was with my friends and enjoyed the moment.
With them, it was different. Ben might have been happily domesticated, but Tim was single again, so I could pretend that everything was alright because when I was with them, it was.
But after, when I came home alone, which I did most of the time, I sat on my couch and felt this crushing weight of nothingness. What did I have besides a job I loved?
Family. Friends. I pretended that my life was full, and most of the time when I was out, it was.
Then when I came home, it wasn’t.
I watched him sleep all night. I kissed his head and ran my fingers gently across his body. I liked the way he breathed deeply when he slept, as if he had no worries in the world.
We were careful for the next few days in the office. We stayed at a polite distance, so I wouldn’t want to throw him against the wall and ravish him. It was probably better that it didn’t happen since my sister would have seen the whole thing.
She gave us these furtive glances when we were together at work.
She knew something was happening, and it made her uneasy, which was totally not fair!
She was the one who wanted me to ask him out.
She even told me I should grab his butt.
I really wanted to tell her about him, to have someone to share this with – but I was afraid it would send her into a tizzy.
She worried about me, the theatre, our parents as they got older, and the political state of the country. She carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. I didn’t want to give her something else to worry about.
It had been a week of furtive glances, quick touches when Buffy wasn’t around, but at the theatre we stayed professional. At night, he stayed at my place. We ordered pizza and grabbed takeout from Tim’s burger place. I kept him naked and pressed against me as I held him through the night.
The sex was fucking amazing. He really was so limber that the positions we could do were surprising. I had done things I had never thought of. When he did the splits… I almost came right there.
“Hey,” I called to him as I stepped into the office.
“Hey,” he waved.
Buffy looked at me, and her eyes narrowed. “Hey Jim, can I see you for a second?” She grabbed my hand and pulled me out into the lobby.
“I thought you were taking it slow,” she blurted out and pushed her finger into my chest.
“We are,” I lied.
“Do not bullshit a bullshitter. He’s had on your sweatshirt when he walked in today.”
“Why do you think it’s mine?”
“It’s your old high school sweatshirt, and it has your number on the back, dumbass.”
“Huh? I didn’t see him grab it. I mean, it is cold in the offices. His desk is right under the vent.”
“That is not the point. How long have you two been… sleeping over? Because that is what this looks like.”
“Almost a week.”
“When? I want specifics so I know why I’m going to murder you or hug you.”
“You are very confusing.”
“When?”
“The same day that you told me to take it slow. I’m sorry I…”
“Lied to me?” She puffed out her chest and threw her hair behind her shoulder. “Dammit, Jim. I really like him.”
“I do too.”
“Really?” She looked up at me with her wide blue eyes. “You’re not fucking it up? Promise?”
“I… What do you think, Finn?” I glanced up at Finn, who was standing in the doorway.
“Oh, my God! I am mortified!” Buffy screamed and fell to the ground laughing.
“Do not try to follow her emotions. They are a whirlwind of indecision and confusion.” I grinned.
She looked up at me from the floor. “Before I decide to murder you or not, big brother. How much did you hear?” She turned to Finn.
“I… I had just opened the door. Promise.” He held his hands up and smiled.
“But he is definitely not fucking it up.” He reached over and took my hand as he walked around Buffy.
He reached down and offered her his other hand.
She took it, and he gently pulled her up to her feet. His biceps looked amazing as he did it.
“Who else knows?”
“No one. We’ve been… busy and I haven’t seen the guys.”
“So, are you two like… together?” She asked hopefully.
I looked at Finn and grinned. “I mean, we’re not official, I guess.”
“I’m not seeing anyone else.”
“Well, do you want to?”
“I thought we already were.”
“Alright.” I chuckled.
“Boys,” Buffy shook her head sadly. “I really wished I was a lesbian.” She hugged us both. “This makes me very happy. Now, don’t fuck it up. We have Annie auditions for the kids in about an hour.”
“Fuck…” Finn huffed. “I was in a good mood. Do you know any of the kids who are auditioning? Are they any good?”
“I think you will be very surprised.” Buffy winked and went back into the office.
“I guess the cat’s out of the bag,” I murmured into his ear before biting his lobe gently.
“She didn’t seem too upset.” He grinned happily.
“She’s not. She really likes you a lot. Maybe more than she does me.”
“I think… if we’re going to be official, maybe we should go out on a real date that isn’t takeout.”
“I don’t know. My boss barely pays me, so…”
“Asshole.”
“I’ve been thinking of yours all day.”
“I bet you could get lucky if you play your cards right. But first…”
“The fucking sun will come out tomorrow. I know? Come on, the music director should be coming soon. You’re gonna love him.”
The auditions went well. Finn was impressed by the kids, and by the end of their dance audition, he looked at us and grinned.
“I think the show is actually gonna be good,” he whispered.
Buffy and I both laughed, and I couldn’t wait to rip his clothes off.
