“You may be surprised.”
Cade smiled. "Surprised by whom, Jeff?" He took a step in Jeff’s direction. Charges? He didn’t think so.
The short-haired girl jumped up and away from Jeff's lap and started picking up the rest of her clothes from the floor.
“Come on, Jess, let’s get the hell out of here.”
Jess got up, alright, but instead of leaving, she turned on Cade.
“What do you think you’re doing? Who do you think you are, the moral police? Who gave you the right to stop people from having fun?" She advanced on him, oblivious to the imminent and fairly obvious eruption of his volcanic temper, her own face mottled and ugly with its squinted eyes and twisted mouth. "You sorry-ass motherfucker! You’re jealous nobody would suckyou, ape-face! What, got nothing to say, huh? That's right, not so scary after all. Bet you've got a pencil dick girls laugh at!”
Her words didn’t have any effect on him, but her nearness repulsed. He stepped aside to get away from her tattooed tits and shaved crotch, but too drunk or high to realize the danger, the stupid bitch followed him. Screeching and cussing, she got right into his face, poking her finger in his chest, suffocating him with the smell of liquor, sweat, and musk.
Breathing through his mouth, he hooked one foot behind her ankles and yanked, crashing her down mid-profanity on the carpet.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Dan jumped up from the bed not bothering to pull up his pants, his sizable cock still erect and wet from the aborted blowjob.
That sight did him in. His frayed self-control split.
"What’s wrong withyou? What the fuck are you doing with the whores?" he yelled back at Dan.
Hurt, he hurt inside from an explosive mix of indignation on Coco's behalf, utter repulsion by his brother's unconcerned cheap cheating, and his own torturous desire for a woman he wasn't meant to have.
He grabbed Dan's tall frame and threw him against the nearest wall. Dan spun and crashed into the dresser, arms flailing, the pants down his legs restricting his freedom of movement. The mirror above the dresser fell off the wall, shattering the lamp and pinching Dan’s fingers with its frame. Yelping, Dan snatched his hands away struggling to stabilize himself and pull his pants up at the same time.
"I can fuck whoever I want to! You have no right…" Face red, shaking with fury, his little brother advanced on him. "You hear? No. Right. To preach. Fuck you and your sanctimonious standards!" He swung, but Cade saw it coming and ducked.
Dan swung at him again, without success, but it only fanned Cade’s flame hotter. Dropping all restraint, he counterattacked hard, pummeling Dan with short, precise blows, his body easily slipping into the moves drilled into him by years of military training. He felled Dan and pinned him on the floor, face down.
"You worthless piece of shit. Does Coco know you fuck whores behind her back?”
"The cold bitch needs to put out more!" Dan yelled against the carpet.
"I’ll take it as a no."
"What do you care who I fuck?"
"I don't!" That's right, he didn't. He only cared becauseshewould care.
God, if she knew, she'd be so hurt. How broken-hearted she’d be if she saw Dan like he had seen him, pants down, ready to come into some skanky woman’s sloppy mouth.
He mashed Dan's face into the carpet. "You're disgusting."
Heavy hands landed on his shoulders. “Stop. Come on, Cade. Let him be.” Alex’s voice penetrated the dark haze of anger.
There was nothing he could do to fix Dan-the-frog and turn him into a prince. He let Alex pull him away and got to his feet.
"You done lost it, fucktard!” Dan wailed from his prostrate position on the floor. “Get treatment! You could be chewing light bulbs next."
His sense of outrage stuffed back under control, Cade looked around.
The skanky women were crying and pointing at him in fear.
“He’s insane, oh my God, he’s gonna kill Dan! I’m calling the fucking 911!” The long-haired blonde, Jess, now wearing a bra but nothing else, fumbled with her phone with shaking hands.
“We’ve got it, girls. He won’t hurt anyone.” Jeff patted her hands preventing her from making a call.
Ross was standing outside the door looking in with cold, calculating eyes.
