CHAPTER TWO
God, she’s so beautiful. Still just as gorgeous as the day I laid eyes on her seven years ago in that courtroom. She was a hard person to find, but now that I’ve found her, I’m not letting her go.
Her rich mahogany brown hair begs to be grabbed and wrapped around my fist, and those eyes, those beautiful emerald gems, so vibrant, yet so lifeless all at the same time.
Her curves beckon for my touch, and my hands crave the feel of her skin beneath them, aching to explore every inch of her body.
I’ve been watching her for a while now, waiting for the right time. Soon. Very soon, little lioness.
I love seeing her smile, the action she seems to only do when she is with her friend. Amelia is a good friend to her, knowing everything she’s been through and not once being judgmental about it. It’s hard to find loyal friends like that these days.
I probably shouldn’t be sitting here, so close to her, but I just wanted to be near her, even if from a distance.
Amelia thinks she’s being sly by pretending to crack her back, but I know better, and that is my cue to leave.
I grab my wallet and keys and walk past their table, headed for the door.
The move is a little risky, but I make sure to keep my head down and tilted toward the opposite direction.
The moment I pass her, I feel a spark of electricity, and the urge to stop and wrap my hand around her throat and kiss her is strong, but I keep walking.
Once out the door, I make it to my car and slide in.
For a moment, I just sit here, dreaming of the time I’ll get to walk out of a place with her by my side.
I pull the visor down, sliding the picture of my sister out that I keep there, holding it in my hand, rubbing a thumb across her smiling face.
I miss her. Every damn day. This photo is the last one I ever got to take with her, both of us smiling outside a theatre when I took her to the movies.
Movement catches my eye, and I put the photo back, closing the visor.
Nikki walks out with Amelia, arm in arm.
Seeing her smiling fills my chest with warmth, and I’ll do anything to prevent that from changing.
I won’t let what happened to my sister happen to Nikki.
The little lioness has no idea about the monster lurking in the shadows.
