THIRTY
MICKEY
My leg bounced while I waited for Amos to arrive. He’d texted when he left Sage’s, but the minutes stretched into eternity. I was desperate to see him. It felt like nothing in my life made sense except for Amos and how I felt for him.
When I heard the familiar hum of his car, I jumped to my feet and hurried to the door. The white twinkle lights on the big maple in the front yard and porch illuminated his figure as he approached. A thin layer of snow had fallen since I’d gotten home earlier.
“I keep telling you I’m going to expect this kind of greeting every time.” Amos’s warm smile soothed my most frayed nerves.
My response was to close the distance between us and pull him in for a kiss. The damp boards soaked through my socks, but I didn’t care. Amos was here, and I already felt a thousand times better by simply being able to touch him. It scared me how much I needed his presence.
I pulled him inside and toward the couch, but he paused long enough to kick off his shoes, which nearly caused both of us to topple over, laughing.
“I’m so glad you’re here.”
He pressed his hips into mine. “I can tell.” He chuckled. “I am too.”
I toed off my wet socks, then pulled him onto the couch. I needed to feel his weight on me and craved skin-on-skin contact. Amos stretched out on top of me, and I thrust against him, needing more.
“You’re so sexy when you’re desperate.” Amos dragged his hand down my chest, then slid it under my T-shirt, flicking his finger over my sensitive nipple.
“Need you.” Everything was confusing, stressful, uncertain—Amos’s presence was the only thing setting me to rights.
Amos stood and pulled me to my feet. “I need more room to work. Let’s go to your bed.”
We stumbled down the hallway, breathless, my heart pounding, kissing whatever skin we could reach. Once we crossed the threshold to my bedroom, Amos pushed me against the wall.
He kissed across my jaw and slid a hand into my jeans, cupping me like he had that first night, but now it was skin on skin.
“What do you need, baby?”
My toes curled at the endearment. “You in the mood to top?” I had to feel him inside me.
“I’m in the mood to make you feel good. Hell yes, I’ll top.” Amos punctuated his statement with a knee-weakening kiss, then spun us around and walked me back to the bed. Between kisses, we stripped each other naked and tumbled onto my bed.
My frantic, desperate need for him turned into something more tender the more he touched me. Soft brushes of his fingertips across my ribs, gentle kisses across my chest, feet tangling.
“Amos, please.”
“What do you want? This?” He teased his fingers around my shaft and stroked me, but his grip was loose enough to have me begging for more. His fingers explored further, cupping my balls and pressing along my taint until he reached my hole.
I clenched and released, anticipating a touch I’d grown familiar with. We hadn’t played with full penetration yet, but I’d learned how talented Amos was with his fingers and tongue. I spread my legs as much as I could with him sprawled half across me.
“Tell me how you like it. Slow until you’re nice and stretched?” He rubbed the pad of his finger around my rim. “Or do you crave a burn?”
“Burn. Please.” I couldn’t wait until he’d stretched me open.
“Lube? Condoms?”
I reached for the nightstand drawer while Amos moved down my body. My fingers brushed the lube bottle as his warm mouth wrapped around my cock. My eyes rolled back into my head and my hand went slack as I succumbed to the pleasure.
“You’re hungry for it, aren’t you? Look at that.” He pulled back and watched the tip of his finger slide in and out of my body.
Despite wanting to feel it, I knew he wouldn’t give me more until he had the lube, so I reached for it again. Always considerate, he warmed it in his palm before sliding his full finger in, then quickly followed with a second. The slight sting scratched an itch deep inside me.
He expertly played my body—working my cock with his mouth while fingering me until I couldn’t wait any longer. I’d never been with someone who cared so much about my pleasure, and I wasn’t sure I could ever go back to anything less.
“I’m ready. Need you.”
Amos shifted to kneel between my legs as he slid a condom over his hard length, covering the bulging veins. As I imagined how good it would feel to have him inside me, a bead of precum formed on the tip of my cock. Amos swiped it with his finger and licked it.
“Ready?”
Fuck. “So ready.” I reached up and slid my fingers into those curls I loved.
Amos bent down and brought his lips to mine as he pushed inside.
A guttural moan ripped from my chest at the blend of pressure and pleasure.
God, it was exactly what I needed. He kept his thrusts short as I adjusted, but soon he was pumping in and out as I clutched his shoulder with one hand while jerking myself off with the other.
Sweat beaded at his temples as he closed his eyes and tilted his head back.
“This is exactly what I needed. You’re what I need.”
Amos’s thrusts stuttered as he collapsed on me, pressing his forehead to mine. “Mickey. You’re what I need too.”
The emotion in his voice pushed my pleasure into a crescendo that crashed through me. I clutched him tightly as he thrust until he came. His movement slowed as I pressed kisses across his shoulder.
Amos’s smile was loving before kissing me deeply, pulled out, and then rolled away.
After cleaning up, he pulled me against him. “Feeling better?”
“Like a new man.” My ass was deliciously tender and my heart was full.
He kissed the top of my head. “It’s fun with you.”
“For me too.” I snuggled into him. “I don’t want this to end.”
Amos was quiet for a moment as he massaged my scalp.
“What if we went public? Dated like normal people instead of this sneaking around.”
“What about our families?” I hated that I asked, but I needed to. This was a big decision.
He rubbed his palm over the crown of my head. I loved when he did that.
“We don’t have to tell anyone that our families have secretly been friends, but we deserve to share our relationship. They can choose what they want to do with their truth, but we need to live ours.”
My hope rose. “You really think so?” It was my turn to go quiet. “Does that mean you’re staying?”
“I’m strongly considering it, but I’m not sure yet. I’m here now and we’re having fun, so why not see where it goes? There could be a thousand things that go wrong, but I don’t want to ignore something special based on what-ifs.”
I considered his words, and yeah, there were no guarantees. What was for certain was that being with Amos felt more right than with anyone I’d dated in years, if ever.
Amos was right—we deserved to live our truth, and our families could make their own decisions. Our dating could be independent of their secret.
“Let’s do it.” Could it be that easy? We just decided not to keep honoring some unspoken agreement to be enemies?
He bent down and pressed his finger under my chin, tilting it toward him. “When? After Christmas Eve dinner? I’d hate to do anything to jeopardize that.”
I agreed. There were too many people counting on things to go smoothly for us to put ourselves above it. One more sacrifice. “Tell our families on Christmas? Then meet back here after?”
“Perfect.” Amos pulled the blanket over us. “Mind if I stay the night?”
“Of course not, but won’t Sage wonder what’s going on?”
Amos cleared his throat. “I might have told them at dinner that I have feelings for you.”
I rolled onto my stomach and gaped at him. “You did?” My face split into a wide smile.
“Is that okay?”
I pressed a kiss to his stomach, his chest, then kissed a trail to his mouth. “More than okay. How’d they take it?”
“Shocked, but they said you’re hot. Told them I got you first.”
Grinning, I straddled Amos. I was still too spent for a round two, but I thrust against him anyway. “Sounds like I’m a hot commodity among the Flynn siblings.”
“Stop gloating.”
I kissed his smile and let the happiness spread through me. For the first time, I felt like things might work out.
