“Maybe. If you answer me.”

Jordan shuddered as Derek nuzzled into his neck to kiss him, but then gave in and wound his legs over the top of Derek’s thighs, stroking his hands down his spine.

“What was the question again?” Derek asked, and when Jordan pinched his ass, he laughed and said, “Okay, okay. Me and Danny boy, huh?” He laughed harder as the words left his mouth, and then he shook his head. “How long have you been wanting to ask me that?”

Jordan gave him a pointed look that said,Answer the damn question, which made Derek laugh all over again.

“It’s not that funny, Derek.”

“It kinda is.”

“It is not. That first year, you two were inseparable, and then?—”

“And then we had different classes, busy workloads, and for me, a really bad home life. We fell apart, drifted—it happens.”

Jordan frowned, still not satisfied with that answer.Ugh, fine. If I have to spell it out for him.“So you broke up?”

“No.”

“No?” He let out an exasperated breath. “Are you being purposely obtuse?”

“Maybe? If you want to ask me something, then just ask. I’ll answer.”

“Fine. Were you sleeping with Daniel Finley? As in fucking him? And so help me God, if you give me some ridiculous answer I will murder you and chop your body into a thousand tiny pieces and scatter them all over. And before you doubt me, remember how smart I am. I could totally get away with it.”

Derek kissed his lips then whispered, “No. I wasn’t fucking Finn.”

Jordan opened his mouth, about to demand to know if Daniel was the one doing the?—

“And Finn hasn’teverfucked me. Happy?”

Jordan wasn’t sure why, but this new piece of information made him incredibly happy. He aimed a grin at Derek and nodded, which made Derek laugh all over again.

“What?”

“I was just thinking how ironic this conversation is.”

“Why? It’s not like it’s such a stretch of the imagination. I remember catching you two one day outside my classroom holding hands, and…”

Derek rolled them to their sides and nodded. “Yep, I remember. You got pissed off.”

“I did not,” Jordan protested.

“Yeah, you did.”

“Anyway, why is it ironic?”

“Because I had a total hard-on for you and Daniel wanted to jump Hayes. I guess you could say we were very happy to be studyingunderour professors.”

Jordan laughed and shifted to his back. “Deviants, the both of you.”

“Sure, Devaney. Keep blaming me for the fact we’re both naked and in your bed right now.”

“It’s true. I heard all about the way Daniel Finley chased Brantley during college, but you acted as if you were too busy to be in this bed with me…so, I never really knew if you were interested or just running your mouth to annoy me.”

“I was very interested. Which you found out the night you danced around your house to Britney Spears.”

Jordan hummed, thinking of that delicious memory. “Yes, I remember. Itwasobvious after that night. You’re right.”
