“Because down there, you can run around completely naked and no one will see you.”

Jordan pulled his head back and brought the flashlight up between them to illuminate their faces. “That’s not an accurate statement.You’llsee me.”

Derek winked and said, “I fucking hope so.”

“Ahh. I see what you’re up to,” Jordan said, and pondered this new information. “And what about you?”

Derek laughed, and then started walking again. “I’ll get naked too.Ifyou can manage not to complain any more until we arrive.”

Jordan aimed the flashlight on Derek’s ass.Okay, I guess I can keep my mouth shut a little longer if I get to look at that naked.

“Comeon, Jordan. The quicker we get there…”

“Okay. I’m coming. I’m coming,” he called out, and hurried along behind.

“WE’RE HERE,”DEREK announced as the both of them stepped out into the clearing.

“Wow.” Jordan dropped his backpack on the sand and walked forward on the isolated stretch of beach. “Look at this place.”

That was exactly how Derek felt every time he came down there.

Devil’s Bend was on the opposite side of Sunset Cove at the far end of the peninsula, and generally off the public’s radar. Most stayed away because it didn’t offer a good place to swim or surf. The waves were too rough and the waters too dangerous due to the rocks that littered the shoreline.

What Devil’s Bend did offer was a spectacular view of the night sky. With no other lights to be seen, the stars twinkled above like diamonds shining over all they touched. Out in the distance, you could see the faint lights of tankers heading toward the horizon, but here, in this little alcove, the rest of the world—it disappeared.

When Jordan faced him, the smile he aimed his way was so full of glee that Derek thought it made him look like a little boy. Well, maybe not alittleboy.

“You like it?”

Jordan kicked his shoes off and waggled his eyebrows before he ran up and jumped into Derek’s arms. Derek caught him around the waist as Jordan wrapped his arms and legs around him and whispered, “Iloveit.”

Derek captured his mouth in a blistering kiss, and as the tempestuous mating continued and he ran his hands up from Jordan’s ass to his back, he moaned.

It was then that Derek realized that calling for Jordan in his moments of despair was more than just a hit to take the edge off. He called this man for the pure joy he exuded, which in turn made Derek believe that anything was possible, most especially his own happiness.

Jordan leaned back in his arms and flashed a warm smile. “This place is like something out of a dream.”

“I know. It’s pretty awesome, huh? Now, you think you can stand on your own two feet for a minute?”

“Sure you want me to?” Jordan asked as he rocked his hips against him.

Derek slapped his ass playfully. “On your feet, Posh. We still have a little ways to go.”

As Derek lowered him, Jordan purposely kept them close and let his entire body drag down over the length of his.

“Ohh, looks like someone’supfor a little fun later. I vote for the nudity to begin now. I behaved. I didn’t complain once after you told me what I would get in return.”

Derek chuckled and handed Jordan his bag. “Nice to know that all it takes to get you to do something is a bribe.”

“As if this is really news. You lived with me for a year, maybe a little more. You already know that I’m selfish.”

Jordan slipped his arms through the straps of the bag and hefted it up his back, and then Derek hooked his fingers into the straps and tugged him in close.

“You’re not selfish. You’re…” When Jordan aimed his stunning face up at him with a cheeky gleam in his eyes, Derek lost his train of thought.

“Yes? Please continue. I do so love hearing about myself.”

“Hmm. You’re the kindest, most generous man I’ve ever met.”
