Chapter Fourteen

Lux

Spending the entire weekend with Dominic feels like my birthday and Christmas, all rolled into one.

After I talk to Carlo, we settle onto his massive sectional to binge-watch our favorite movies. He introduces me to Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels , which is quite the experience.

When it’s over, I’m ready for something a little more my style so I steal the remote and find Ever After . He pretends to moan and groan, but a few minutes into it, I can tell he’s invested. We snuggle as we watch Danielle and Henry fall in love.

“No, but do you see why it’s the perfect movie?”

“Absolutely,” he laughs, stuffing a handful of popcorn in his mouth. “Drew Barrymore.”

“It has a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes, how can you even reduce it to just a hot girl?” I pout, swiping the popcorn from him. “That’s blasphemy…although she’s gorgeous, I won’t fight you on that one.”

“You’re gorgeous,” he growls, tackling me on the sofa. I laugh, trying to fight him off, but the playfulness quickly turns into heat.

Our clothes fly off as he kisses his way down my chest to my belly button. He alternates soft kisses with gentle bites across my hips, nudging my legs apart.

I relax against the sofa, threading my fingers through his hair, relishing in the feel of his breath against my thighs.

“Why do we even bother with clothes?”

“You’re right,” he agrees absent-mindedly. “Let’s become nudists.”

“We’ll join a colony,” I breathe, half-moaning as he traces my pussy with his tongue.

“Better yet,” he growls, replacing it with a finger and making me groan. “We’ll build our own colony.”

As fun as the conversation is, what’s happening between my legs is even better, so I shut up and soak in the pleasure. Hours later, after a blissful orgasm, an entire delivery pizza, and way too much popcorn, I finally peel myself off the sofa.

“No more movies,” I cry, holding my hands up in defeat. Dominic snickers at me from his lazy sprawled out position. “I can’t do it. My eyes are burning.”

A sly smile crosses his face and he hoists himself up, dusting popcorn kernels off his chest. He stares at me like I’m made of magic and fairy dust and I find myself melting in his gaze.

“What?”

“Sleep or adventure?” he asks, smiling up at me. I stroll over, still naked, and kiss the tip of his nose.

“Adventure, always.”

“Thought you’d choose that one,” he growls, pulling me down to straddle him. “Or we can stay right here?”

“Adventure,” I whisper, my hips automatically grinding against him. I do kind of want to stay here forever, but I’m also curious as to what he has up his sleeve. He sighs, nuzzling my breasts dramatically, but lifts me off and disappears down the darkened hallway.

When he returns, he’s holding two fluffy white bathrobes. He tosses one at me and shrugs on the other, grinning down at me. “Let’s go.”

“In bathrobes?” I cry, yanking mine on and jogging to keep up with him. By the time I reach him, he’s already holding the elevator open for me. “We’re going out in bathrobes?”

“We’re not going out,” he corrects me, pressing a button that says RF . “We’re going up.”

I’m practically dancing with anticipation when the doors open. We enter a small lobby, all done up in white marble, and Dominic pulls me through a small glass door.

The first thing that hits me is the nostalgic scent of chlorine, conjuring up memories of summers by the public pool.

My eyes widen at the nearly Olympic-sized swimming pool in front of me. I step forward, lost for words. The size isn’t even the most amazing thing—the pool is on the roof, under the stars, with the city skyline glimmering in front of us.

“Dominic, this is amazing!” I whirl around, throwing myself at him. He chuckles, grabbing me around the waist, and swinging me around.

“Wanna get in?”

“Wait, naked?” I hesitate. “Is that…sanitary?”

“I think the owner will be fine with it.”

“Wolfie, don’t tell me this is your freaking pool,” I scold him. “Do you own this pool?”

He shrugs, laughing over his shoulder, as he slips off his robe and expertly dives in. I giggle and goosebumps break out over my skin with the anticipation of doing something so naughty. Dominic floats on his back, hands behind his head, calmly watching me.

I slowly lower one shoulder of the oversized robe, winking at him. He smiles, gesturing for me to continue. I peel back the other side, keeping it tight against my breasts, and turn away from him. He groans from the water and I grin.

Ever so slowly, I pull the robe down to my waist and peek over my shoulder at him.

“More!” he calls, wolf-whistling as he swims closer to me. I let the robe drop to just below my ass cheeks and bend slightly at the waist.

“Lux, if you don’t get in this goddamn pool right now,” he growls right behind me. “I’m pulling you in, robe or no robe.”

A shiver runs down my back at his dark voice, wanting more of it. I grin and try to cover myself up with the robe but he doesn’t give me the satisfaction. A cool hand reaches out and grips my ankle, jerking me backward.

I fly into the water, pulling him under with me. I’m laughing so hard that I’m swallowing water and choking. He grips my waist, thrusting my head above the surface.

“Evil!” I screech, splashing him. He laughs, ducking away from the wave and circling my hips with his arms. In seconds, I’m pinned against the wall, my legs entwined around him.

He’s hard, pressing against me and I grind my hips, biting his lower lip. The water is surprisingly cool against my skin, sending shivers through me as it caresses my nipples. He bites down on my neck, sucking kisses across my shoulders and chest.

“Dominic,” I moan, pivoting my hips, trying to work him into my slick pussy. He grabs my hips, stilling them, and kisses me deeply. I’m nearly feral with need, fighting to pull him closer.

“Not yet,” he growls, stilling my hips again.

“Please,” I beg him. My clit throbs with an uncontrollable need to be touched. I slip my hand between us, almost making it to that sensitive spot when he grabs my wrist, pinning it against the wall.

“You’re a fucking tease,” I growl back at him, biting his lip. He glares at me, his eyes sparkling with desire and playfulness. His laugh is loud and rich, vibrating off the sides of the pool.

Suddenly I’m soaring through the air, water splashing away from my body. He gently places me on my back, the cool tile sending a jolt through me. I gasp as he roughly pulls me closer to the edge of the pool.

With my ass half-hanging in the water, he nudges my thighs apart and buries his face in my throbbing pussy. I actually scream, then bite my tongue when I realize we’re technically in public.

“Let go, baby,” he commands, gazing up at me with fire in his eyes. “No one can hear you up here.”

I rest my knees on his shoulders, crossing them against his back, and pull him in closer. He licks and sucks, and caresses me until I’m screaming his name and begging for him to stop. His face is soaked and it’s not with pool water.

My breath comes in spurts, hot and heavy. He ducks out from under my knees, submerging himself in the water and I take a second to come back to planet Earth.

The feeling of his fingertips, gripping my hips as he explored me with his tongue under the stars will never, ever leave my mind.

He bursts out of the water, grinning at me. In seconds, he’s hauling himself out of the pool, shaking water off like a dog. There’s an evil glint in his eyes and it sends a perverse thrill through my core. He sticks out his hand and pulls me off the floor.

“What are we…”

Before I know what’s happening, I’m at the edge of the building, pressed against the glass safety barrier. His hand slides between my thighs, pushing them apart.

“Not scared of heights, are you?”

I glance over my shoulder, a hundred-story drop below me, the glittering skyline surrounding me. My nipples harden and my legs instinctively circle his waist. He sinks inside me, groaning with pleasure.

I’m terrified of heights. But I’ve never trusted someone more than I trust you right now.

“Just don’t kill me, okay?” I joke, leaning my head back against the glass. He thrusts deeply into me, maintaining eye contact.

“I would never.”

I wake with a jolt, immediately sensing something wrong. My hands slide across the soft silk sheets, landing on something firm and warm. Dominic .

Nothing’s wrong, I’m just staying at Dominic’s temporarily. I smile, settling back into the feather-soft pillows, but my body lurches forward. The most violent wave of nausea hits me and I spring out of bed, sprinting to the bathroom.

I nearly miss the bowl, but my hands reach for it, steadying myself as I land on my knees in front of the toilet.

Yesterday’s pizza, popcorn, and wine come back up with a vengeance. Once it’s all been brutally evicted from my stomach, I slump onto the cold marble floor with a groan.

Shit. Maybe I ate too much junk last night. I just hope Dominic didn’t hear that.

I lay on the floor, listening for footsteps but all is silent in the house. With a sigh of relief, I pick myself off the floor, brush my teeth, and collapse back into bed. Dominic reaches for me, drawing me close to his warm body, and I drift back into a calm sleep.

After a long, lazy lunch, we spend most of the day exploring the city together. I take him to my favorite neighborhood and we sip coffee while people-watching. He shows me his favorite bookstore and we spend hours lost inside, flipping through paperbacks.

For dinner, he insists on treating me to sushi. Memories of my less-than-stellar morning dash to the bathroom don’t deter me and I stuff myself silly with fancy rolls and fresh sashimi.

By the time we make it back to the penthouse, we’re both so exhausted that we strip off our clothes, climb into bed, and pass out.

Right before sleep steals me away, I lay in bed, memorizing Dominic’s peaceful sleeping face. I’m so blissfully happy that I’m slightly worried I’ll simply float away, my body not tethered to reality anymore.

Despite all the shit that’s been dumped on me in the last few weeks, I truly wouldn’t change a thing.
