Page 42 of Clash
Fuck me. I knew it. Bleh! Get me some bleach and a toilet! This turd needs to be flushed.
“Yeah, because you’re a pussy,” I joked, needing humor to combat the feelings of resentment and jealousy bubbling inside of me.
Snyder’s chest puffed, pressing against my own as he got in my face, spittle flying everywhere. “Do you got a problem with me, Clash? Do we need to take this to the ring?”
Shaking my head, I said, “I’m just saying that going after her was a pussy move. You abandoned the club in a moment when we needed you, dragging two of our members with you. What would have happened if the Crows showed up? We’d be sitting ducks. That’s what.”
“But they didn’t.”
“But they could have,” I argued. “That’s why I’m pissed. You left us fucking vulnerable, all so you could chase some tail.”
Snyder shook his head. “That’s where you’re wrong, Clash. She’s not just some tail, she’s my woman, and all I’m asking is for you and the rest of the club to respect that.”
“Yeah, I fucking respect it, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. I just don’t like the fact that you had to drag her back here by the hair kicking and screaming.” Smirking, I threw him a look, one that was condescending and full of venom. The guy seriously got on my nerves.
“I came back on my own, Clash. I missed him. I missed all of you. This club is my family just as much as it is yours.”
I really couldn’t hate her in that moment, though I really fucking wanted to. “Yeah, well...”
Priest took a step forward, flashing her a blazingly white smile. Holy shit! Does he polish his mouth with cleaning detergent? Those teeth could light a whole lighthouse if he tried. “I’m happy that you’re back, Shasta. The club just wasn’t the same without you.”
“This coming from the man who kept her whereabouts hidden for four goddamn months?” Wasp snapped at Priest.
“She’s here now, isn’t she?”
“Barely,” I interjected. “Who’s saying she won’t go running the second there’s trouble again?”
“And if she does, who cares?” Wasp bit out. “She chose him. The only person it will hurt is him, and maybe he’ll learn his lesson.”
“Bitter much?” Skid asked, coming to a stop in front of our used to be girl. “Hey, Shasta, welcome back.” He gave her a hug, and for a second, I yearned for a female’s touch.
But not hers… never hers.
The single mom who left me on the sidewalk; that’s who I wanted to touch me.
Ranger and Priest gave her a hug, before Sandman hobbled up to her. You could see the excitement in her eyes.
“Sandman?” she yelled, throwing her arms around his big neck. “You’re walking!”
“Y—Yup.”
“And he’s going to be a daddy now,” I added. “He knocked that bitch Lindy up.”
“B—But she w—wants me to gi—give up the baby.”
“Not gonna happen,” Snyder exclaimed, laying a friendly hand on Sandman’s chest. “We’re going to help you change that. Just like we’re going to change a lot of things around here.”
Change? What the fuck did he need to change besides the woman who shared his arm and would barely let him go.Clingy much?
Skid and the three hang-arounds stepped forward.
Snyder looked confused. For once, I knew something before him, and that felt amazing. It’s not fun being the last one to know everything.
Skid held out his arm, motioning to Joaquin. “This is Joaquin. He was a friend of Warrant’s. He’d like to prospect for the club, along with these two... Gideon and Kody.”
Snyder outstretched his hand, welcoming them. “It’s good to see some new blood around here. Just remember that this girl is mine,” he said with a wink, keeping a possessive hand around her waist.
Gross. Get a room. Better yet, get another fucking state.
