Page 34 of Claimed By Fangs and Darkness
I heard muffled laughter from above. “Harmony, get your ass back up here before Kylo decapitates you next.”
I cringed at the reminder of my headless victim.
Kylo glanced at me, still wrathful even as a slight smile tugged at his lips. “Are you going to tell them, or shall I?”

KYLO
I’d been practicing extraordinary restraint with Evie in all ways since she’d discovered my betrayal. I refused to harm her further. Hearing her tell me I ruinously broke her heart had killed something inside me.
It made me desperate to mend that beautiful soul—on my knees if that was where she wanted me.
Then Evie had all but begged me to feed from her and fuck her, and now I was struggling to maintain any amount of self-control. I couldn’t keep my hands off her, especially not after she’d provoked my deepest fantasy to claim her. With my cum inside her, dripping down her thighs with every movement, I kept Evie close—always within my grasp.
She’d been turned on by revenge and violence, the same as me. I might’ve been shocked, given her previous aversion to such activities, but I’d always known there was more to her story than she’d let on. Princeton taught me that the stronger a person’s fixations, the stronger their psychological shadow. Evie had hated everything dark and wrathful because that was exactly the true nature she denied. All these years, she’d been running from herself most of all.
Evie’s fair cheeks were pinker than ever the moment we left the basement and faced Harmony and Blade. Blade’s arms were crossed over his hulking body.
I knew on a conscious level they were my friends, whom I loved and trusted absolutely, but their smirks and eyes on Evie still made me edgy and possessive on a level I had no control over.
“Since when are you two on cleanup?” I lifted a brow. I tried and failed to subdue my primal urges as I looped my arms around Evie and kept her pressed against me, her back to my chest.
She was far more agreeable with my venom in her blood, squirming only for a moment before settling into my hold.
“We were curious,” Harmony said, sweeping her long black hair behind her shoulders. “As you could imagine.”
“You kept us out of the loop,” Blade added. “On something as interesting and enjoyable as killing spineless, rich loyalists.”
I rolled my eyes at the sadness in Blade’s light brown eyes. “This was Evie’s fun to be had, actually.”
Blade and Harmony both focused back on Evie, whose cheeks were flushed bright red. My cock was already hard again and pressing against her, merely from her embarrassment and the bright fang marks dotting her throat.
“They killed Idris,” Evie said simply. “So I killedthem.”
My cock twitched. Who knew such ruthlessness lived beneath such a sweet, innocent exterior? I’d had my suspicions, but gods was it sexy to see Evie finally thisfree.
I heard my crew getting to work on disposing of the guards’ bodies outside. Out of an abundance of caution, I decided to make everyone here disappear. It might have been obvious what had happened to those in the Whitfields’ trusted circle, but we could do without the heat of a brutal massacre during a time likethis. Propaganda was at its peak as war loomed. The clan faced enough obstacles as it was.
I wanted Evie to indulge in her sexy violence guilt-free.
“We also wanted to apologize,” Harmony said.
“For being wrong?” Evie asked, a strong note to her voice I was still getting used to.
I loved strong Evie. I kissed the top of her head, inhaling her floral shampoo.
Blade uncrossed his arms. “For not even trying to listen. We were trying to protect you, Evie. We were scared for you.”
“And there’s a good reason we don’t turn young humans,” Harmony added.
Evie stared at the ground for a moment. I prepared to calm her down, but as always, Evie took me by surprise.
“I know,” she said. “I never wanted any of this for Idris in the first place, let alone at his young age. I wasn’t able to listen to you two either.”
“What’s done is done,” Harmony said, her face becoming gentler in the face of Evie’s humility. “We won’t always agree, but we are always family. You’re one of us now. And we want to welcome you into the clan. We didn’t want you to think our warnings had anything to do with our level of respect for you as a person and witch.”
Evie sighed. She’d clearly believed in the wake of my betrayal that the entire clan was against her, that this had all been some elaborate ruse to recruit her and manipulate her. She shifted a little, as if uncomfortable. Maybe even ashamed.
