Page 163 of Claimed By Fangs and Darkness
Kylo stroked my back. “I’m dragging you there whether you want it or not, my vulnerable little meadow nymph.” He kissed my temple.
“I want it.”
It was the strongest yearning I’d ever held. To be in a world where everyone I loved was safe.
I pulled back and tilted my head, giving him access. “Don’t kill me, pretty please.”
Kylo plunged his fangs into my throat as his arms wrapped around me, his cock buried as close to my womb as he could manage.
Never,I heard through our bond.
My eyes fluttered as Kylo fed from me. As I was relaxing into a state of pure bliss, the Seven of Swords, the familiar card of betrayal, flashed in my mind. My stomach sank and my body tensed briefly at the vision. But just as quickly, pain transformed into pleasure and the imagery washed away.
Kylo made soothing touches across my skin. He held me close.
Through the bond, visions of violence leaked through—Kylo pinning me down, taking me roughly and brutally, showing my collared, fang-marked body off to the born.
Mine.
Though his fantasies were dark, all he showed me tonight was tenderness. After we finished, he took care of me as he always did, and I fell asleep in his arms.
When I woke in the middle of the night, he was gone.

EVIE
The next time I drifted to sleep, I was semi-lucid.
I was aware I was in a dream, but I wasn’t sure exactly what had happened before I arrived there. I stood in a forest of tall trees and plentiful wildflowers. Insects chirped, and I could barely make out the hissing of a snake.
“You can’t have it all.”
I turned to see Juliette, dressed in Evie-pink.
“It’s not fair,” she said. “You can’t have them all.”
I closed the distance between us. The forest morphed into a desert wasteland, nothing but barren earth as far as the eye could see.
“Which is it, Juliette? Do you want to be me? Or do you want to kill me?”
She smiled. Blood poured from her nose. She looked down at her pink dress, frilly socks, and platform Mary Jane shoes.
“I would never kill you, Evie.”
A single tear slid down her cheek. The front of her dress was now stained with two crimson lines.
“Why do you want to be sisters?” I asked her. More and more lucid consciousness spilled inside me. This was my chance tomake everything right. To lure her away so I could take her out before we launched into war.
Before she could try to kill one hundred turned in the blink of an eye. Or perform another death magick ritual and conjure a new race of demon creatures.
As soon as I had the thought, one of them appeared before us—an apparition of the rabid undead beast with slits for a nose. I leaped back, but it soon disappeared into a cloud of white mist.
“They died,” she whispered. “All of my dogs died.”
“That is an extremely liberal use of the worddog.”
Juliette’s lip trembled. “Do you not feel alone anymore because ofhim? The man with the blue eyes?”
