Page 42 of Claim Me
Frowning, I try to reach out to her, only to hear nothing in response. Did something else happen when I visited the death plane, or is she in trouble?
I can sense her lingering there, but I can’t quite reach her. So either she’s unconscious, or something is interfering with our connection.
Maybe the fated bonds to my new mates,I think, groaning.
Seriously, why do you hate me?I want to demand of fate. What did I do to you?
Because this is insane. Improbable. Absolutely fucking complicated.
And the way Nox is still looking at me now says he agrees.
I’m guessing the others do as well.
So what happens when one of them tries to reject the mating bond and realizes this is all because of an illegal spell?
They’ll blame me. Probably sentence me. And then kill me.
Awesome.
Just. Fucking. Awesome.
CHAPTERTEN
NOLAN
Fallon Doyle is my mate.
No, she’s not justmymate. She’sourmate.
I run my hand over my face and palm the back of my neck.Fuck.
At least she survived.
Of course, I didn’t thinkthiswas how she would manage it.
Four mates.
All at once.
I would be impressed if it didn’t mean I now have to share. That isn’t my kink. I prefer having women all to myself, typically whilst tied to the bed and gagged as I test their tolerance for extreme pleasure.
Nox and Bane are never going to let me do that to Fallon,I think, eyeing the latter of the phantoms now as he walks toward me and Kaspian.
“She’s awake,” Bane says softly as he joins us near the bonfire. “From what I overheard, she doesn’t remember much of what happened and she’s just as surprised by fate’s decision as we are.”
“Are you really that shocked?” I ask him. “You and Nox have been obsessed with her from the beginning.” Which I still think is because Fallon possesses death magic—something she drove home today by dying and coming back to life.
What even was that?I wonder for the thousandth time. The whole episode stunned the hell out of me. I expected her to fight, not die. Then she came back on a wave of magic that pierced my very soul.
And now we’re tied to one another for eternity.
Unless we reject it.
“Am I shocked that all four of us just fate-bonded the same woman?” Bane’s tone reveals nothing, as per usual. He rarely ever raises his voice or displays even a hint of annoyance. Actually, he may just be the most relaxed person I’ve ever met.
Which is what makes him deadly.
He has a penchant for knives and guns, his aim nearly as good as Kaspian’s. Add Nox’s toxins into the mix—toxins the phantom likes to apply to Bane’s weapons—and Bane’s a force to be reckoned with.
