DRAKEN
W hen Magnus had told me about the cross-breeding program, my interest was instantly piqued.
I was in need of a breeder and it sounded like this new implementation into the Registry could find a match more efficiently than using Braeden’s idea of selecting someone he thought would be a suitable partner for me.
Besides, this way, if I had a homo sapien breeder, once she provided me with an heir that I needed I could send her off with a handsome reward and never hear form her again.
However, I’d had a brief conversation with Magnus about his thoughts of the program and clearly he’d been satisfied with the results.
Clearly it had worked out for him but one thing he’d mentioned was that upon meeting his breeder, he was hit was an indescribable scent that he couldn’t quite explain. Apparently no one else could smell it except for him and if they did, it didn’t affect them the way it did him.
He’d theorized that it had something to do with her being his perfect mate, a concept that our ancestors held but it wasn’t something spoken of in these modern times.
I paid no heed to what I believed was nonsense or as I saw it at the time, his justification for marrying his breeder, but here I am. Victim to this incredible smell.
And this woman. This homo sapien woman….
I expected her to be at least modestly attractive but as I look down at her, our eyes meet and my body stiffens and my breath catches in my throat. My brain refuses to work and I don’t understand this visceral reaction I have toward her.
I silently tell myself that she is simply a means to an end but I can’t tear my gaze away from her. The shapeless black dress she wears does nothing for her figure but I can still discern that she has a pleasing shape.
Though she is perhaps more slender than I prefer in a female, her body is gently curved, especially her hips and breasts. She appears taller than the average female homo sapien but still much smaller than any superious . I reckon her head would fall at my torso.
But what really holds my attention is her face.
Her darker skin and hair texture tells me she’s a descendant of the homo sapiens mostly found in sectors 7 and 8.
Her features fascinate me, from her full lips remind me of soft pillows, plush and welcoming.
Her nose is round and broad but it suits her face with its high cheekbones.
And her eyes are feline like, tilted upwards.
My body quickens and my cock comes to life. I force my body to return to normal and take several calming breaths.
But despite this, my instinct is to pounce and fuck her to within an inch of her life.
What the fuck is wrong with me.
I’m no inexperienced youth. I have enjoyed the companionship of females in my lifetime. As Sector Leader, a snap of my fingers is all that’s necessary for me to sheath my staff deep inside the warmth of tight wet pussy.
This breeder however makes me want to turn her around, slam her against the wall and rut inside her like a wild animal. Perhaps she appeals to my animalistic side. I’m not sure and I don’t like it either.
To say she is quite beautiful would not be an exaggeration however I have no need for her beauty. I simply need her womb, I internally tell myself.
Whatever this temporary insanity is that has taken over my brain, I have no need for it. I shake my head to rid myself of these inconvenient sensations coursing through me.
“How much time do I have?” Her voice surprises me. It’s husky and at a lower register than I expected while still sounding feminine. I wanted to hear her speak again, but I silently remind myself that she is just a breeder.
“Jamie, Sector Leader Draken and I will have a discussion to determine the time of departure. Perhaps you should see your sister and parents. I’m sure they’d appreciate seeing spending as much time with you as possible before you go,” Magnus speaks to her in a gentle tone.
I ball my fists at my sides. It’s almost as if he hadn’t heard a word I’d said earlier. “We will be leaving within the hour. If you wish to say your goodbyes, I suggest you do so now. You may bring along anything you deem necessary for our trip.”
I’m not sure what I expect. Tears? Protests? For her to fall on her knees and plead to stay longer? But instead she shakes her head.
“I don’t need anything else. I can wait here while you have your meeting with Sector Leader Magnus.” Her eyes don’t quite meet mine as she speaks.
I find her words surprising? Is she so eager to leave this place? Has something happened that I’ve missed?
Magnus steps forward. “Jamie, I’ve already sent word to Noah and your parents that Sector Leader Draken has arrived. They’d be distressed if you left without saying goodbye.”
“I’ve already said what I needed to say to them. I don’t want any long goodbyes.” I keep my head down.
I refuse to let him guilt me into changing my mind. Clearly Magnus thinks he can stale me by playing upon my sympathies.
“I’ll have that word with you Sector Leader Magnus and then we will be taking our leave,’” I say through gritted teeth. The beast within me itches to jump to the surface.
His nostrils flare giving away his own agitation.
“Of course.” But before we head through the door, he turns to my breeder.
“Jamie, I no longer have the authority to tell you what to do but I hope you change your mind about giving your family a proper goodbye, not only for them but for your sake as well. I hope you don’t leave here with any regrets. ”
Magnus then glances over his shoulder at me. “Follow me.”
Once the door closes behind us, I don’t wait for him to take a seat behind his desk before I relay my frustrations.
“I believed we had built a mutual respect for one another at the summit, but you clearly take me for a fool. First you attempt to deceive me about what’s in my breeder’s file and now you’re disregarding my wishes to take her and leave, as is my right?
I have my own sector to take care of and I don’t wish to challenge you but you will have one if you continue to disrespect me. ”
Magnus’ green eyes flash to amber as if he intends to shift but they swiftly switch back. With a heavy sigh, he rakes his fingers through his long red hair. “It was not my intention to deceive you, besides, you have access to the same files that I do.”
I cock my head to the side. “Then why was her picture blurred in the Registry. Only those with a high enough clearance can rearrange the photos in a personal file.”
“You’ve got me there. I did have her photo tweaked a bit when I had her reassigned to the manor but that was before she became your breeder.
As I’m sure you’re already aware, because she already had the initial classification as companion when she entered the Registry, any of the other Sector Leaders could have pulled up her file if they were in search of new companions and reassigned her to their district. ”
His reasoning made sense. I noticed when she’d received her new designation it listed her as helper.
Under the intersectoral laws, any Sector Leader could claim any companion if they weren’t already assigned to another Sector Leader or a high ranking official.
Most companions were chosen based on their appearances.
A blurry picture would have discouraged anyone claiming her.
Magnus probably didn’t count on Jameshia being matched with me through the cross-breeding program.
I slowly nod. “I understand your reasoning. However, surely you know that now she now falls under my jurisdiction, there are laws that I must adhere to now that her file has been flagged. What did you plan to accomplish if I gave you the five weeks you initially asked for? Do you realize in that time, the victims’ family could have petitioned me directly to see that her sentence was carried out?
There are no trials for homo sapien murderers in my sector. ”
“There are trials for them in my sector.”
At this point, I feel this conversation is going nowhere. “Again, she would fall under my sector’s rules. Your trial would be meaningless.”
“Perhaps, but I was hoping to find a way to remove that designation from her file. I wanted to get to the bottom of the incident. As I explained in the summit, I’ve had to weed out a lot of corruption in some of my regions. The region that Jamie had been previously assigned to was rife with it.”
“So why didn’t you arrange a trial for her when she was initially assigned to this manor?” I ask.
“By the time, I noticed that designation, it was too late. She’d already been marked as your breeder.
I was hoping if I had the time to gather enough evidence in her defense you could remove that flag from her file.
I’m fully aware that there’s nothing stopping you from having her executed once she’s provided you an heir. ”
I blink.
All my life people have made assumptions about me based on my background and have questioned my intelligence, my ability to lead, and even my humanity. But hearing how little Sector Leader Magnus, someone who I’d thought highly of, really thinks of me, I shouldn’t be surprised.
I saw no further need to continue this conversation.
“I will be taking my breeder and leaving now.”
I head to the door without a backward glance.
“Wait! I didn’t mean?—”
“We both know what you meant.” I cut him off as I open the door.
I’m surprised to see my breeder still waiting by the door. I’m again hit by her scent. It takes a considerable amount of willpower to ignore it.
My gaze rakes over her slender frame and notice she doesn’t have anything in her hands.
“Did you not wish to take any of your belongings with you?”
She shakes her head. “There’s nothing here that belongs to me.” My breeder still won’t look me in the eyes but I require nothing but her obedience.
“Then we can leave now.”
I grasp her wrist and immediately yank my hand back as a jolt of electric courses through my body. I don’t understand this sensation, nor do I want to so I turn on my heel. “Come,” I command gruffly.
Instead of resistance, which I expected, I hear the light tread of her footsteps behind me.
“Jamie, wait! Give your family the chance to say goodbye!” Magnus calls out.
“I’m sure you can convey that for me,” I hear her reply.
I head to the entrance of the manor without looking back.
Annoyance grips me when I see that my car has already been moved from the from the driveway. The Enforcer that I had brought along with me stands in the empty spot where it had been moved.
I look over my shoulder and see Magnus close behind. “Have my car returned to me at once.”
“Of course. As I thought you would at least be joining us for a meal, I had it taken to the garage for a recharge and stocked with parting gifts,” he explained.
“I required neither. Have my car returned to me in the next five minutes.” I don’t find it necessary to tell him what will happen if it isn’t. I don’t make empty threats and at this point my patience is threadbare.
I glance down at my breeder who now stands a few feet behind me. “We’ll wait down there.” I point toward my Enforcer.
I head down the stairs to stand in front of the driveway.
A strong hand falls on my shoulder and applies enough pressure to grab my attention. I turn to face Magnus who has now completely dropped his welcoming facade.
His narrowed eyes are bright amber and lips are flattened to one angry line. His face is nearly as red as his hair.
“I am not sure how things are done in Sector 10, but in my sector, when hospitality is offered it is not treated with disdain and disrespect. You have every right to claim your breeder but as a courtesy, you could at least give my wife the chance to say farewell to her sister. That would be the decent thing to do.”
My eyesight sharpens indicating that my eyes had also morphed. I allowed my canines to descent and my fingers to lengthen into clawed hands.
Challenge accepted.
Just as I’m about to raise my hand to strike, a small woman who is clearly heavily pregnant races to us, holding her stomach.
“Nooooo!”
